If I could give it no stars I would. This is the semi-ok, cheap hotel that I stay in when I’m visiting home. Sequoyah County is known as the tweaker county and this hotel fits right in, especially after today. My husband, daughter and I rented a room and the next morning while we were packing our things to leave out; two of the employees knocked on our door to accuse us of “stealing” the room and asked for our receipt because the room was not supposed to be rented at the time and they didn’t know how it got rented. We didn’t have a receipt because we were never given one (never have in the years I’ve stayed there because it’s a 2 star hotel), the woman staying next to us and the two other rooms that were rented by my family members didn’t receive a receipt as well. So, we showed them both of the keys instead and their response was “well people run off with keys all the time.” And continued to say there was no payment of the room three more times. When my family came over to see what was going on and explained they didn’t receive a receipt either my husband was obviously upset at this point and told them to figure it out themselves at their office because it’s very unprofessional to ask your guests what happened and how one of YOUR company’s rooms were rented to us. That is clearly a business mistake and should be handled amongst themselves instead of accusing guests of stealing at 9:30 in the morning. They also mentioned that they were cleaning it with expensive equipment that was left there, which it was but was in the place they left it and undamaged because that’s what decent people do so I’m not sure why that was brought up either. It seemed as though they were trying to accuse us of anything that would get them more money but when my family and the woman renting next door to us got involved that claimed that they never mentioned there was no payment of the room when it was clearly heard by the woman next to us and ourselves several times. Needless to say it escalated and these employees were the poorest example of professional, actually there was no example of professional. My family WILL NEVER bring our business here again. I’d rather drive to another town than deal with all of that nonsense. Please boycott...
Read moreUpdated review due to a nasty response below from this business. First of all. Learn to apologize correctly. I have worked in the customer service business for many many years. Fyi the reviews below (not just mine) have the same issues. Your rooms smelling like ciggaretes, people that are given non smoking rooms that obviously are not. This is your property remind guest to keep there dogs on a leash. Since you are A DOG FRIENDLY HOTEL.I mentioned that in the day time its a ghost town. Why? Because obviously your hotel is a last minute stop in the middle of the night. The only reason why we settled here is because we have a newborn and have been driving for hours to move because my husband is in the military. Because you offer a 10 dollar coupon for a review, you get these so called good reviews. Your rooms offer nothing else but tiny towels and cheap bar soaps. Should I mention a racist comment by your employee? We travel A LOT. We're looking for Indian destinations and shops. We asked her if there was any Indian places to visit? She specifically said " I hope not". Oklahoma is suppose to be the home of Native Americans. How disrespectful. I do not recommend this hotel. I was surprised to see a lot of great reviews for this place. Unrealistically great for the price. The so called non smoking room that was given to my husband and I including our dog and newborn reeked of cigarettes. Our room even had an ash tray and matches. The hotel itself is old. There was a guy walking his dog without a leash. The place was a ghost town until it got dark. And no, you don't get a continental breakfast in the morning either. It's just packaged pastry and some cereals. The one thing that my husband enjoyed was the pressure of that old shower. When we checked out. We noticed a sign saying if you give them a good review, you get 10 dollars off your next stay. That's when we realized why this hotel has the...
Read moreUnacceptable treatment of guests! I was on the phone with my mother when I heard a knock on the door. She took the phone with her to answer it, and I could hear the conversation that took place. A woman told her she had only paid for one night and that she needed to come and pay for tonight if she was going to stay. My mother told her she had requested a two-night stay, and the woman told her she'd only paid for one and to pay for the additional night My mother then asked if she needed to do that now or could she come later, around 5pm. The woman told her that was fine and left. About ten minutes later, there was another knock on the door. My mother again told me to hold on and answered the door. A gentlemen introduced himself as the owner and told her she needed to settle her bill now. She told him yes, she was going to do it on her way to dinner at 5, and that the women she spoke to previously said that was fine. The man said, "no, she didn't." My mother said, sir, yes she did. He said that's not our policy and she didn't say that. My mother then stated again that she did, but if she needed to come down and pay at that moment, she would. He told her to calm down and to be nice and he'd be nice. He also continued to interrupt her as she was trying to explain the situation. The conversation ended with my mother telling him she'd be down to pay right then.
That someone would speak to a guest in that way is inexcusable. That an owner would argue that an employee did not in fact say something when he wasn't even a party to the conversation is unprofessional at best. While I don't expect four-star treatment from discount motels, common decency should be a given....
