⚠️☠️ Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at Budget Inn in Russellville Alabama. My husband and I rented a room there for a week and did not even stay the entire week due to the extremely rude management, BEDBUGS, poor condition of the rooms, and apparent drug activity. We checked in and I presented proof of having a service dog and ended up having to present it three times because of management screaming at us when we took our dog out to use the restroom that pets were not allowed. One such instance was at 6:30 in the morning and I had to get out of the bed and go back to the office and show them my paperwork. We presented his documentation each time and were met with grudging accommodation. Extremely small refrigerator. The bathroom sink was stopped up with hair as well as the tub. The shower curtain had mold all over it. Very low water pressure and it took the water forever to get hot. The management did not want to even give you an extra washcloth and towel even though there were two adults in the room. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but clearly had been smoked in frequently and the comforter had burn holes all in it. The sheets and towels were dingy and appeared dirty. We had to mop the floor ourselves four times before it stopped making our feet black from walking on it and the management and employees acted like it was a huge favor just to provide us a mop and mop water to do the job ourselves that they should have done. The hotel does not have fitted sheets and they only use a flat sheet on the bottom so the sheet comes off the bed continually. Very old, rickety furniture. Old fashion television. Not a flat screen as in the pictures that are shown on the website. After two or three days we started noticing bites on our bodies and discovered bed bugs. Management would not move us to another room and acted like it was no big deal. They also stated that our initial rate of $220 per week plus tax was going to be increased by over 30% the following week due to "new management" although they refused to state who was purchasing the property or give any type of contact information for the new owner. The property management also was extremely rude about my service dog the entire time and pitched a fit because they saw him on the bed one day! I'm sorry, but my dog appeared to be cleaner than they did at any time I ever saw them. There were people in the parking lot at all hours of the night and day and clearly there was drug activity going on and we saw multiple syringes on the side of the property where we would take our dog to use the restroom. The final straw occurred when I ended up having to call the fire marshal for Franklin County because our fire alarm and a couple of other people that we spoke with staying at the hotel had fire alarms that were not working properly and even had black electrical tape over the light that was supposed to flash to indicate that it was operational. The fire marshal came and they had to replace multiple fire alarms. The hotel manager came and knocked on all of our doors and warned us that if we had any type of hot plate or similar to hide them under the bed because the fire marshal was on the property! I simply wanted to give an honest and thorough review of this so-called business which by the way is not a member of the Better Business Bureau to help anyone else avoid spending their hard-earned money to end up in this dump with extremely rude people running the place. Hope this helps someone else! (Including a picture of the bites from...
Read moreWhen I first arrived in the room, I was greeted to the stench of urine. Apparently, this is a pet-friendly motel. I turned on the air-conditioning and left for the evening. When I came back, the smell seemed to have decreased for the most part. The room was small; the desk was taken up by the microwave and refrigerator. There was a coffee maker and coffee, but only one small styrofoam cup and no cream, sugar or stirrer. The toilet ran off and on all night. There are gaps around the door that let light and humidity in (it was very humid in the room all night even with the a/c). I had to wedge the window curtain against the wall with the only chair to keep it closed. The towels & sheets were clean, but all had holes in them. The bed was comfortable. There was no clock, no place to hang clothes. The shower was clean and the water was hot. Breakfast was ridiculous: I was told it was from 8-10, although the hand-written signs said 7-9. I get over there at 8 and the main lobby is locked with no one inside. By 8:15, there are 5 of us outside, ringing the bell and wanting breakfast. Finally, someone lets us in (apparently someone didn't show for work). There is coffee and 2 cups, cereal but no milk. Finally, the woman behind the desk (who had a real attitude problem) gets some packs of muffins and danish to put out. I down a danish and leave. I pack my things into the car and come back to the lobby to turn in my key. They've already put the breakfast items away. Stay...
Read moreThe hotel room is dingy and horrible. There's a obviously patched hole behind the door and beside the door. There were cigarette burns in our comforters. The refrigerator smells absolutely horrible. There is a box tv, and not a flat screen like the pictures. The bathroom shower handles were literally just sitting on the side of the tub when we arrived. There is not fitted sheets, just normal sheets, so you end up on the actual mattress if you're a tosser like I am. Management is EXTREMELY rude. I came from Mississippi to visit my friend here for a weekend. I get a room for two, cause, ya know, there's two of us. The next day we have a few friends come by to get ready and do makeup with us for the watermelon festival. The owner comes and knocks on our door. We open it to him yelling at us telling us "NO VISITORS ALLOWED." We ask him if he has paperwork to prove what he is saying, cause I bought the room and was not informed I couldn't have friends here. He yells "NO PAPERS. MY RULE. GET OUTSIDE. NO VISITORS." He then proceeds to WALK INTO OUR ROOM just to see if people were hiding in the bathroom. There wasn't. I will never in my life stay here again. Management is piss poor and $75 for a dingy room is...
