The room was filthy, and missing many items. I would have requested an alternate room, but because we were only there for one night and we had already hauled all of our stuff for ourselves and the baby to the room, we just dealt with it. But I kept coming across more items that weren’t properly stocked, cleaned or maintained, and by morning I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. We will not be back, which is a shame because this location is closest to the friends we were visiting, and we plan to be back in the area often.
If I were a manager at this location, I would be thoroughly embarrassed. If this is the condition that the rooms are in when considered ‘clean’ and well maintained, then the housekeeping and engineering staff are in desperate need of additional training and resources. This cannot possibly meet the standards of the Marriot brand.
The room was missing the following items: Spatula for use with pans Sponge for washing dishes Dish soap (for sink) Dishwasher soap (to run the dishwasher) Extra towels (I had requested these during check in on the app.) Garbage can for kitchen We had to stack garbage under the desk near the one tiny desk trash can that was available Dirty laundry bags
The following items were dirty or damaged Carpet Bleach stained in living room area and seemingly unvacummed Drapes Broken/damaged hooks in both the bedroom and the living area Some sort of water/liquid damage on the bottom 6 inches of the bedroom drapes
Oven drawer Crusted with extensive burned food remnants
Dishes Specifically bowls - crusted food on bowl exterior - clearly not washed Glasses Set of 4 mismatched glasses that were finger printed and dirty Coffee Items - missing paper coffee cups Not sure if there are supposed to be mugs available in the cabinets as well, but if there were, we didn’t have any so we had no way to drink the coffee. Plug at coffee maker didn’t work Bathroom mirror and sink tap Dirty and crusted with unknown materials
Kitchen sink tap Dirty and crusted with unknown materials
Microwave - Buttons smeared with food and grease
Toilet Hair on toilet seat when we arrived Mildew ring around water level in bowl, with a cracked toilet bowl and very low water pressure. Shower curtain Mildew on the bottom 3” or so
Bedside lamps Stained with unknown material
Living room furniture Couch and ottoman stained with unknown material
The entire stay was...
Read moreThis was the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My flight landed late so I was excited to finally check into my hotel and get rest. As I pulled my covers back, I noticed there was blood on the cover and sheets. I called for a bed change and housekeeping just dropped sheets at my door without bothering to offer to change the bed or take the dirty linens that I had to remove from my bed. I had to throw them out into the hallway in front of my door. ||As I made my bed, I noticed a trial of blood on the carpet lead from the bed and ending near the television where there appeared to have been a large puddle of blood. At this point, I didn’t know what happened in that room and did not feel comfortable staying there. I requested a new room. ||My next room also had blood stains on the carpet and days after check in I noticed there was blood on the border of the bed (see photos) and the shower curtain. My coworker who stayed in the same hotel also had blood all over her room. We looked deeper into the reviews and that’s when we realized that this hotel is used to house recovering patients from the hospital. ||There needs to be some type of verbiage or warning given to guests that alert us at check in that we may experience rooms that have blood stains. Marriot should also detail what EXTRA cleaning protocols are taken. Instead, they are extremely nonchalant about the blood everywhere and offer no accommodation or even apologies for the condition for the hotel. ||The rooms were disgusting from the blood to the stained tubs, low pressure/dirty shower heads, etc. There was no head board but rather a cheap piece of foam with a dirty pillow case covering it. The coffee machine was dusty & the refrigerator had a cup left from previous visitor. If I had the ability to obtain a refund and stay at another local hotel, I would have left without a doubt. I was forced to go to the local market, purchase cleaning supplies and deep clean/sanitize the room to the best of my ability so that I can feel SOMEwhat more comfortable laying my head...
Read moreDisappointed with this Marriott Stay :( ||We stayed at Courtyard Sacramento Midtown July 28–29, 2025 for a family member having surgery nearby. I chose this property because it was close to Mercy General Hospital and as an Marriott Bonvoy Silver member I am granted a late checkout which we needed for the day of surgery — something I confirmed at check-in.||An hour later, and after chcking in, however, I was told late checkout would cost an additional $25. When I explained that my membership includes this benefit, I was told “you have two nights to Gold and we only honor that for Gold members,” which felt irrelevant as the Marriott website and app both clearly state it is a benefit entitled to Silver members and I have always been able to request and receive it in my many prior stays at other Marriott properties. We declined the charge, but housekeeping still knocked at 11:30 a.m., half an hour before checkout and on a very stressful day, saying "check out is at 12 pm", even we knew this and the "reminder" knock was an intrusive and disruptive while still well within the normal stay. This happened even though the hotel was not even close to full the day prior or the day we left (confirmed by another staff member the next morning when I checked out).||The room itself was also disappointing. There was visible hair and dirt in the sink and shower, and the air conditioning was so loud we could hardly sleep. The parking fee — $25 per day for an unsecured surface lot — felt excessive for a suburban, uncovered and not secure lot. ||This was an emotionally stressful trip, and these issues added to the difficulty. I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties and appreciated the consistency and member benefits, but this stay fell short and with so many other options near the hospitals, I would advise anyone against choosing this...
