I live in Oak Park and noticed Halal Shop as I was driving towards Broadway on Stockton. I immediately pulled over so my husband and I could grab a bite to eat. When we walked in, it looked very well put together, not like a mom and pop shop, so my first assumption that it was a franchise. The food was pretty good, what you would expect from a small, to-go, food shop. while that is correct, it is in paperwork only. I dug around on the internet to see whether or not it was a nationwide chain. What I found was that it was a two location franchise. That was odd to me. I went in the next day for lunch again, for my husband and I. We got variations of the same thing from the first day that we went for lunch. That visit, I was able to talk to the gentleman running the counter. He told me that the two locations that I found listed are owned by family members. so, and paperwork only, it is a franchise. They started out as a food truck for over 10 years, from what I can gather. I love being able to support local, small, family-owned businesses.

In regard to the food, my husband and I got the loaded fries, which is basically a gyro on a bed of fries without the pita bread. Husband got chicken and I got lamb. The second day, husband got lamb gyros and I got the loaded lamb fries. The lamb was a little dry both times and the fries, after being under sauce, and in moisture from the heat of the meat, weren’t crispy. I know this is a very particular preference, so the next time I will ask for the fries to be very well done so they can hold up under the environment.

What I was impressed with the most, was the customer service, and the freshness of the veggies on the food. I asked about the food source, and they use a Halal distributor. The gentleman shared with me that they have fresh/perishable ingredients delivered every few days. They don't have ingredients sitting in their cold storage for weeks on end.

This was a perfect little place to grab a meal after being at the Med Center or DMV nearby. Highly recommend because of the customer service. Food is decent. It’s definitely mass produced, but it’s better...

🐔🔥 Looking for flavor-packed halal eats in Sacramento? Look no further than Halal Shop at 3116 Stockton Blvd! This spot is a true gem for anyone who loves fresh, bold, and satisfying food.

My personal favorite? The Buffalo Chicken Philly 🥖🐔🧀. It’s loaded with tender halal chicken cooked in spicy buffalo sauce 🔥, perfectly melted cheese 🧀, sautéed onions & peppers 🧅🫑, and all of it hugged by a soft, fresh hoagie roll 🥖. Every bite is messy, cheesy, spicy, and downright addictive!

What makes Halal Shop stand out is their commitment to quality — all the chicken tenders are hand-slaughtered halal 🙌🐔, so you know you’re getting authentic halal food made with care. That extra effort really shines through in the flavor and freshness.

Generous portions, great vibes, and food that hits the spot every time — Halal Shop has quickly become one of my go-to places in Sacramento.

📸 Snap a pic of your Buffalo Chicken Philly and tag us — we’d love to see your favorite bites!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hands down — this place is a must-try for chicken lovers 🐔🐔🐔!

I had an amazing experience at this halal restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm smiles and outstanding customer service. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my visit.

The highlight of my meal was the chicken tikka over rice — absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The rice was fluffy and well-cooked, and the combination of spices brought everything together beautifully. It’s easily one of the best halal dishes I’ve ever had.

The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciate how they take pride in serving high-quality food while making every guest feel valued.

Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for tasty halal food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be coming...

This place is amazing... if Anthony Bourdain had visited, it would sound something like this: "Tucked away off Stockton Boulevard, in the long shadow of UC Davis Hospital, there’s a little halal spot you’d probably miss if you blinked. And that would be a mistake. It’s clean, quiet, no Instagram crowds, no foodie fanfare, just good, honest food made by people who give a damn. The flavors are tight, sharp, and real. The kind of place where you grab a perfect falafel, sip an ice-cold green tea or boba, and remember that food doesn’t need a tasting menu or a trust fund to matter. It’s the kind of joint you stop at once, then start planning your week around. No pretense. No gimmicks. Just soul on a plate."

Go here. The gyro wraps are under $10, loaded with meat or falafel, and the spicy sauce is delicious. The samosa chaat (meaning samosas dressed up with veggies and sauces) are plump and crispy even for takeout. About $10 for those. The interior of the place is simple, plenty of casual seating, no frills. Pita and hummus is great for kids. And it’s fast. I ordered lunch for 4 adults yesterday and it was prepared in 10-12 minutes (great if you work nearby at the DMV or Med Center). Glad to see a fresh restaurant liven up Stockton Blvd. I hope these guys stick around, we live in the neighborhood and will be back again.
