I have never heard of a mandatory fire drill... every person staying in the hotel was required to process to a gathering point at the entrance of the hotel. Sounds like a FEMA roundup... I don't think making everyone meet at the entrance is very good! Where do the fire trucks come in to put out the fire? Of Oh ya, the only entrance, where they instructed us to gather. Called prior to the drill to the office to express my concern for having to gather with our dog and all the rest of the dogs staying in the hotel. There were approx 50 people plus children and animals standing in the front driveway for no reason... Many of these people might be long term guests. Many were very temporary. I know of one guest who had back surgery yesterday and was forced to do the drill... they opened our room during drill. Housekeeping knows even when do not disturb is hanging...
I flagged down the maintenance guy because my kitchen light had been out for a month and the office had not sent anyone. He came in and fixed the light and in about 5 min... When I first arrived I was outside my room and tripped over a bike rack provided by the hotel not 20 feet from my door. Sprained both knees but the right knee hurt for a month and a half. There bike tracks need to be removed or marked better than 2 feet tall all black in color. There has been several mornings were they ran out of breakfast or just didn't have any to serve. Towels are not ever available upon request. This place had allot of growing to do... love Nicole the assistant manager! The maintenance guy is really great too... The vending machines are always broke as stated in other reviews. The dryers never work right! The absolute worse part of our experience is all the spider bites we are getting exert sense they put New bark in the planners outside. Even seeing roaches sense then too... had my vehicle window smashed out and a tool box got taken all while they're is supposed to be security guards on duty... signs posting that the hotel holds no responcibility for lost or stolen items, and they will! to top it off, every Monday morning between 8:30 am and 9:00 am a gardener comes to blow off the parking lot. They start right outside my door and it sounds like they are trying to blow off the entry mat. They spend about 2 or 3 min outside my door then they proceed thru the lot ending up at my door again to spend a couple more min finishing up... I think 9:30 or 10:00 am would be a more polite hour to hire a gardener to run a blower for an hour in a hotel. A lot of people ate residents here and don't appreciate the disturbance...did you know that extended stay policy for there house keeping staff to clean a room completely in 30 min... Update: the blowers wait until 9:30 now before they start. And I have to say that this hotel although it has its many problems, I would have to say I would recommend it for your stay. Just be prepared that nothing in this world is perfect these days... For extended stays ask about the extended plus program to save the taxes in your second month and thru...
Read moreStayed at this location on 10/04/2023-10/09/2023 for The 2023 Aftershock Festival at Discovery Park this year. Safe to say it was a last resort due to a friend pulled out of our original hotel reservations at the week before the event so I had to book something that was close to the So Cal Expo for Shuttle Pick up spots. So upon flying in and getting my rental car and driving to the hotel and arrived to the hotel a bit early like 30 mins early or so the check-in time was strictly enforced by the front desk when I arrived and was informed by the front desk that no rooms were available at the time. No Problem, went to a grocery store and picked up some food for the stay and came back and checked in after the check in time. I didn't notice that this hotel was pet friendly (alot of dogs at this hotel) and when I came into the room which was at the bottom level right under the stairs and my windows were directly facing the trash cans I noticed the area smelled of piss and cigarette smoke. The room smelled of smoke as well even though they have signs posted, they obviously didn't mind the smell creeping in the rooms. I took the queen bed studio with Kitchenette. Which there is no plates or cups or cutlery as they provide those only at the front desk if requested. There was no carpeting just plain laminated flooring which was a bit dirty so I had to wear socks all throughout the visit to keep from having my feet turning black. The walls are paper thin so you can hear screaming kids in the middle of the night and dogs barking all day when being left alone throughout the day when their owners were gone so I'm glad I left the hotel for the day each time I was there. But coming home at night was sketchy. Alot of homeless people wonder that area and a damaged car was in the parked on the lot?? As I said my room was at the bottom level directly across from the trash cans under the stairs so I could hear them emptying the trash cans during the day and people going back and forth so I couldn't crack open a window to get fresh air so it smelled a bit. There was a small tv and no closet just an area to hang clothes and put my shoes so it is what it is. The toilet stopped working after 1-2 days so it slowly but surely flushed. The room itself wasn't white it was an off yellowish white so this place really needs to be updated, restroom really needs to be updated, horrible shower and invest in onsite security guards and move the trash cans away from the doors of the residents that are staying there temporarily. Other than that bedding was ok. The TV was alright. Again it was a last minute reservation but for my first time being in Sacramento I would not recommend this place unless you have no resort or other options. Maybe don't go solo to this spot because you will be looking around your surroundings alot...
Read moreI made reservations to stay here for 2 nights although it was not the place that made me upset but it was the front desk clerk working on grave shift who made things very difficult to check In I had called ahead of time to give them updates of my arrival time, I informed the front desk a Couple times during my travel once at 9 that I would be arriving at 11PM unfortunately i was running more late than i had thought so I had called at 11:00PM to inform the front desk that I would be arriving an hour later around 12PM the woman i had spoken with had told me that I would need to wait an hour and 20 minutes to check in because she had to do her night audit irregardless her telling me that was unfortunate and she was not helpful as I drove 4 hours and was very tired upon my arrival and I was even more upset that she did her audit anyways I arrived at 12:05 and she had told me she did her audit and I had to wait 45 minutes I was soo upset and very angry because I had driven a long way to get there and more angry at the fact that she did not care even when I had called her and told her I would be there at 12 she did it on purpose on top of that she lied and said the system cancelled my reservation when she clearly cancelled my reservation I was so angry that I left the place because she was disrespectful and told me she can refuse service to me anyone would be angry that they have to wait an hour after their arrival and she had the audacity to ask me ti be nicer when i left I received 7 calls from the hotel that I had to block because of how many times she was calling my cell phone I then got a text message stating that I am more than welcome to come back and she would be able to waive the deposit I was more livid, the front desk working that night on grave shift on 7/25/2023 was very unprofessional and the worst she was not a good person that should be working there and I am very lucky as I know ther area and had gotten a hotel for my 2 nights being in Sacramento a little more expensive but way worth it than dealing with unprofessional workers. I really hope she got written up or in trouble for her...
