A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Charles

This was my second time going to this location. The first time was ok. I ordered a chili dog, and I had higher expectations than what I received. But I didn't know that they had other things, so I wanted to return and try something new. When I went back, I tried the chicken strips, and the quality for quantity is not good. The combo was overall overpriced. The 3 chicken strips were rubbery, and it came with a small bag of fries for over eleven dollars, over thirty dollars spent on 2 combos, and a kids meal, will never again. As far as the service, I received an attitude for asking questions. Restaurants shouldn't assume that everyone has been to their places before. It was an issue from the start, because, I could barely understand what the cashier was saying, then another person chimed in as if she was annoyed, then, I guess I couldn't inquire about their sodas, They had a soda called the Twist with a lemon on it, we thought it was something close to sprite, she said with an attitude it was an orange. So we kept or original pick. I wasn't offered sauce, then when I asked about it. Again, attitude and was asked what kind I wanted, I asked what do u have, she called out about 7 different sauces so fast, I only heard, 3 clearly, so I asked for 2, one for my combo, and one for a child's combo. one of the sauces was wrong, they shut the window so fast, I couldn't even say anything about it, I just said forget it, and drove off. I wanted to try a burger one day. But I don't think I will be back, not at this location anyway. My daughter had a burger combo, and she didn't complain about it, so I assumed it was ok. Visited 7/11/19 around 3:30PM. I have never written a review but feel the need to warn people and, hopefully, bring attention to the owner(s).

Drive thru took over 30 minutes with 4 cars in line! I asked the window employee if they had a place for cars to pull forward to wait and she didn't even know? As a former restaurant GM, I would COMPLETELY understand being undersaffed but, even with the limited view from my car, I saw at least 5 employees standing around holding up the counters and walls. I would tell a manager, but it is 10000% their fault, along with the owner who seems to disregard the bad reviews. Replace with someone who knows how to delegate, train, staff, apologize, etc.

The drive thru employee was extremely nice and it wasn't her fault at all. I'm very impressed by the way she handled my comments regarding the wait and the other employees not helping. She never stopped smiling and seemed genuinely concerned. I hope the owner finds out who she is. She has brown hair/eyes, short, and was a newer employee. Time and date stamp above. We visited on 7/14/19, just recently after this restaurant had opened. I was so shocked to find this place was absolutely filthy. Please do not bother to take your time to eat here. We walked in and the floors were dirty and sticky, someone was making food on his phone for paying customers without gloves on, every table was dirty, and flies were everywhere. When someone asked why there were so many flies an employee replied with an excuse related to the current weather. I could go on endlessly with the disgusting practices of this newly opened establishment. My husband were given standard A&W glasses to drink with after ordering and they were dirty, we ended up having to ask for your generic cardboard cup as if we were getting an order to go. The food was gross and gummy to where you could not even chew it. Almost every employee had dirty uniforms on and had no hygienic practices required to run a clean restaurant. There needs to be a lot of changes made to this new restaurant...starting with a new manager and a couple of mops. Highly disappointed with my experience and will not be back. Such a huge...
