Having stayed at The Cloister, we decided to try The Inn at Sea Island - a sister property, on our way home through GA.
The check-in and staff were fantastic at the front desk having arrived tired and looking to relax for a brief two (2) night stay.
Upon getting to the room, I was absolutely shocked at the mess and disregard, especially in this Covid environment. There was a used, half empty water bottle on the floor, and a used empty V8 can by the couch. In the bathroom, hanging on a hook, was the last guest’s shaw or bathing coverup!!! If this is how they clean during Covid, with extra care, imagine during regular times.
Being late, tired and exhausted, we called the front desk, who apologized and promised to send someone right up. No one ever came, and we just passed out tired.
Needless to say, upon waking, we left the property a day early and did not even use the second paid for evening. I am sending pictures and letting the GA Department of Public Health know, as well as The GA Hotel & Lodging Association. There is no way that housekeeping took care of the room properly, especially for Covid.
It will be interesting to see if I get a full refund plus more, or just a portion for having to leave early and not using our 2nd paid for night. I certainly would hope this does not happen for anyone else at The Inn at Sea Island.
UPDATE: Very unprofessional of the property - no feedback. I’ll be putting more reviews everywhere now for other guests and families. Very sad...
Read moreVery Clean and complimentary breakfast staff very friendly. Huge kudos to Raichelle, Vicuey, and Petula. They are so kind and took great care of the guests and keeping breakfast area clean and well stocked! These ladies need to be commended for their great hospitality. They interacted well with all the guests. My adult kids ended up in lobby late each evening playing cards and could get rather loud at times but staff at front desk was great and seemed to love them being down there. They were letting them have fun!
Only issues we had was actually making the reservations and the staff involved with this were not so friendly or accommodating. They were very direct and matter of fact over the phone with poor tone of voice. We reserved 3 rooms and asked specifically for 2 to be king bedrooms and one to have 2 queen beds but we were told this could not be guaranteed until check in. Never heard of a hotel where you couldn’t reserve a specific room based on the accommodations you needed? When we got there all three rooms we reserved were the 2 queen bed option and we did not get the 2 rooms with king bed as requested. This is an area of improvement The Inn needs to work on. Otherwise we had a good experience as this was our first time visiting...
Read moreI called The Inn after my family was duped with their reservation in Brunswick. I was panicked because my family was fleeing hurricane Milton and had a horrible experience with the hotel they booked. I stumbled upon The Inn as it was one of the only hotels in the area that had rooms available. I wish it had been under different circumstances but I am grateful they were available. I was connected with Meredith who was a literal angel. She lent an empathetic ear as I told her about my family’s situation. Meredith was caring and went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable booking for my family. The room was a respite from the chaos of evacuating Florida. My family enjoyed the amenities in the room right down to the soap. The breakfast bar had great options and there was even popcorn available for guests. I could not be happier with the outcome of their visit. I just really want to thank The Inn for making forced evacuation feel like a vacation. Meredith is a gem and I am so blessed to have had her assistance throughout...
