One of the worst customer service experience I’ve had in a while let alone, on the island. I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. I called before heading over (10am-ish)and the young lady who answered the phone said they were quite busy due to reservations that we could head over and they may have room for us. I asked, well could we just make a reservation? She says no it’s first come first serve. Okay but you said it was busy due to prior reservations anyway, we took our chances (which now we regret) and drove over to see if we could get in. Got there and we went inside through the patio area which the bartender directed us to the hostess stand. The hostess looked at us and asking with both hands out “How can we help you?” (Ummm maybe we wanna eat? Possibly?) Our thoughts.. I reply we would like a table for three please, two adults and a child. Mind you, as we walked up through the outside area a server was cleaning off two tables and there were a couple sitting at a table eating their meal. The hostess proceeds to say we don’t have any room but you all can sit at the bar… NOT THE BAR AREA, but the bar. With our child… no thank you. I kindly said well I don’t really want our daughter sitting at the bar can we not sit in your outside area? She replies “Let me see if we have anything out there” again, my thoughts are like well there’s a ton of empty tables out there. She comes back sits us outside WITHOUT silverware with our menus and didn’t even say here you all are enjoy! So much for hospitality! Anyway.. the server was nice and accommodating when we got our food she offered us condiments, etc. I kindly declined and suggested we needed silverware to eat with though! As I observed the place while we sat outside eating I noticed the hostess sat ONE guy and as she sat him she gave him the option of tables to choose. Glad we had a choice(MAJOR SARCASM) especially after footing $100 on the bill in addition to tipping the server 20% for food that wasn’t great at...
Read moreHalyards Restaurant Group catered our April wedding and we cannot thank them enough! Michael and his staff did such an immaculate job of facilitating the most amazing wedding we could've ever imagined.
We STILL have guests talking about how incredible our food was. We had multiple passed hors d'oeuvres, an elaborate buffet set-up, and a late night snack to help soak up all the alcohol from the 3 bars they were able to staff! All of the food was prepared beautifully and displayed efficiently for all 175+ guests to make it through the buffet quickly. Their staff had to replenish the buffet several times because we had guests coming up for seconds, thirds, and even fourths (yes-- it was that good!). The servers & kitchen staff were delightful and truly made our wedding as stunning as we envisioned it to be.
With the venue that we chose, we had to flip the inside dining room from a ceremony set-up to an extensive dinner set-up and the staff was able to do that in less than an hour while all of our guests enjoyed cocktails on the outside deck. We were terrified of rain and/or hot weather so we never formulated a rain plan-- which is where all of the extra work of flipping the room came from. Michael assured us it was no problem and that it wouldn't complicate the day and we cannot appreciate him enough for that!
They also were able to clean up nearly all of the venue by the time the reception ended, which made our night completely stress-free. As the bride, I never once had to check up on them to make sure everything was how I envisioned it-- they took care of EVERYTHING and did a spectacular job doing it.
We are so pleased with our experience with HRG and we cannot thank them enough for facilitating such a fabulous...
Read moreI hadn’t eaten at Halyards in several years so I was looking forward to the experience with my family. We could only get a 5:45 dinner reservation but that was okay given we were bringing my 87 year-old mother.
We were promptly seated and greeted and our server was very knowledgeable. 2 from our party ordered the stir fry, one ordered the top sirloin, and I went with the seared tuna. We started off with the crispy brussel sprouts and a bottle of Hahn Cabernet. The 2021 vintage was on the menu but we were presented with a bottle from 2022. Not a huge deal but it shouldn’t happen.
The food was just okay. I was really disappointed in the seared tuna. I was envisioning an Ahi Tuna steak, still bright red on the inside, about an inch or so thick. I actually got very thin yellowfin slices (4 or 5) which was wouldn’t be 1” tall if you stacked them all up. The filets were pretty much devoid of flavor. There were sauce puddles on and around the jasmine rice tower, but it wasn’t enough to save it. I strongly considered sending it back but no one came around to ask if everyone was satisfied (!). It wasn’t that busy at that hour so another miss.
My son’s steak was equally unimpressive. Again, it lacked flavor. I sampled the stir fry dishes but they, too, were pedestrian. The portions, however, were adequate.
There are some great choices for fine dining on the island. I would not recommend wasting a valuable slot on Halyards. It’s odd because their sister restaurant Tremici’s is much...
