The positives: check in was quick, ample parking, the bed was firm and pillows soft, and the breakfast was above average with a variety of hot and cold items to choose from.||Aside from the above, my experience at this hotel was a disaster almost from the very beginning. I have a laundry list of issues:||This hotel was a little difficult to find as the entrance wasn’t well marked. When I first entered the hotel, the person at the front desk did greet me right away, although he was not very friendly. The room was very small, half the room was taken up by the bed, there were cracks in some of the walls, bubbling and peeling paint in the bathroom, cracked tiles in the shower which was improperly sealed, low flow on the shower head, some of the lights were not working, the towels were very small, thin and rough, the microwave turned on, but didn’t work properly (it turned on, but the plate did not rotate around, so the food did not heat up evenly). The carpet was stained and I had to hold the curtains together with some clips so they didn’t blow open when the heater was turned on (being on the first floor, I didn’t want any people passing by to be able to look in), one of the electrical outlets was actually coming away from the wall (it wasn’t secured to the wall) and I had to plug the clock into the outlet in the bathroom area by the sink because it didn’t work when plugged into either one of the outlets next to the bed and the refrigerator did not cool down very well. It would have been nice to have a printed TV guide or at least a note somewhere letting guests know on which channel the TV guide could be found. |The icing on the cake so to speak was when some of the guests decided to start shouting and hollering right after midnight in the breakfast area by the front desk; also sounded like chairs were being dragged across the floor. After being woke up, I found it impossible to go to back to sleep (even using ear plugs). I thought maybe they’d show a little bit of consideration for other patrons and quiet down, but after about 45 minutes of their noise making, I called the front desk (this is when I was informed that other guests were causing the ruckus). The person at the front desk did say they would be addressed and after a few more minutes, it was finally quiet. I’m not sure why the front desk employee would allow such loud and rude conduct to continue unabated for 45 minutes at that time at night.||Having stayed in other hotels in the San Antonio area with a weekend price tag of $60/night, I know I could have gotten a much nicer room for 60% the price of the $103/night that I paid to stay here. I can guarantee I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. And if this is an example of the entire hotel chain, I can also guarantee I’ll NEVER stay at a Choice hotel again. This hotel was a very disappointing experience to put it mildly! I wouldn’t mind paying the price if it was a decent room and I could actually get some uninterrupted sleep, but neither was the case.||I can’t recommend anybody staying at this hotel for any length of time and would strongly recommend people find another place to stay. I will gladly pay more or even drive farther than I had intended in order to stay at a decent hotel. If I could have given zero or negative stars...

Read moreI have requested for a refund and apology from Country Inn & Suites by Radisson at San Antonio Medical Center in Texas but never received one. Instead, I was disrespected by the staff in that hotel. I checked in on time at 3 PM. When I made my reservation, I added a note stating that I have Emotional Support Animal (ESA) which is a dog. When I checked in, Will at front desk stated that they don’t accept ESA but service animals only. He even asked me if I know the difference and without a chance to respond, he explained the difference between the two. I don’t know if it’s because of my race, disability or age that he treated me that way. He then asked if what service does my dog provide. Take note that I provided him a copy of my ESA prescription letter and it was in front of him while he asked me that question. I felt uncomfortable by that question and there were other guests behind me waiting for their turn. I simply responded that it’s for my mental health. That was extremely uncomfortable and disrespectful for the front desk to ask. I felt embarrassed. He added that we can’t leave our dog in the room. I said we brought a crate. He responded that still we can’t leave him inside even if it’s for an hour. Else, they will ask us to leave the property. Was that threat necessary? We went ahead and checked in and found red stains on the carpet floor in our room. My husband and I decided to check out and stay at a different hotel with a different brand. We checked out immediately at around 4 PM on the same day. As I was already uncomfortable by their treatment, my husband went to talk to Will. Will stated that we should call our booking agent, Priceline, to facilitate that refund. I reached out to Priceline and they asked us to call the hotel to request a written statement or confirmation for a refund. I called the hotel and Will answered the call. He stated that they don’t issue or fax written statements but they only do verbal declaration and would prefer for Priceline to contact them immediately. I told Priceline. Then I got an update stating that the hotel claimed that we checked in early on Feb 5th and checked out the next day which is totally FALSE because we transferred to a different hotel after their unfair treatment. I fought for my case and sought help from their Director of Sales, Stephanie Ramos. She defended her staff of their false accounts of the incident. I have proof that we stayed at Residence Inn so I cannot be at both hotels at once. I suggested to check their cameras for proof that we were only there for an hour but they ignored me. After multiple attempts of reaching out for a resolution, they ignored me and won’t even issue a refund. This is just more than a request of refund. I seek resolution of the unfair treatment I received. They violated my civil rights. I have been disrespected and treated unfairly because of my age, immigrant status and disability. It is such a disappointment to be treated this way by one of Radisson’s hotel. Moving forward, I am avoiding to book any Radisson hotel until they...
