We went to Taqueria Datapoint on a quiet Tuesday, a couple of days after Easter this year. It had been talked up with the kind of reverence normally reserved for sacred institutions. Proper Mexican food. None of that watered-down Tex-Mex nonsense. Just real, no-compromise flavours from a kitchen that supposedly knows what it’s doing. I was looking forward to it. Genuinely. We walked in and were greeted kindly. It was no-frills but warm and inviting. The menu read like a hymn sheet to breakfast and comfort. Everything was priced so low it felt like we’d stepped into the past. So we ordered a bit of everything, enough to sample the best of what they had to offer. Then it happened. I bit into a breakfast taco and immediately felt something catch in my throat. Not just a tickle. A sharp slice of tortilla lodged itself in the wrong place and I started choking. Not the dramatic kind you see on television. The real kind. Silent, frightening, helpless. My partner froze. The dining room disappeared around me. The waitress noticed and came over straight away. She didn’t panic. She was calm, focused, deeply concerned. I couldn’t speak, and between gestures and instinct we knew we had to leave for the hospital. I stood up, still struggling, ready to pay and go. But she wouldn’t let us pay. “Please, just take care of yourself,” she said. That was it. No fuss. No scene. It was an unsettling moment and I wish it had gone another way. Because the small bites I did manage were absolutely delightful. The flavours were rich, proper. I could taste the care (literally). And I knew, in a different moment, that this would have been one of the best meals of the trip. But what I remember most is how the staff treated me. No questions, no hesitation. Just quiet generosity. You don’t get that everywhere. In fact, you rarely do. It takes a certain kind of person to hold grace under pressure, to show kindness without expecting applause. I can’t recommend the place enough. Go visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Okay, so this place was soooooooooooooo unexpectedly good! First of all, if you didn't know what you were looking for you would miss it OR you would think that it's not a good place. It's located in this small little shopping strip and it looks a little shady. However, this was THEE BEST BREAKFAST place we went to while in San Antonio. They gave you soooo much food for such an inexpensive price. You could order breakfast at all times of the day and all the plates were full of food. They make sure you never leave still hungry. All meals were between $6 - $10. I ordered an orange juice and it came in a Very large glass for only $3! As large as that cup was, you have gotten 2-3 refills at any other breakfast place and they would have charged for each refill. I went with a group of 6 and we were able to get separate checks and no additional charge for our group. ALL of us left with leftovers and VERY Full bellies. Check out the pics! I will definitely come back to this place next time I'm in town. Taqueria Datapoint, YOU'VE JUST BEEN BEE STAMPED APPROVED! #BeeStampedApproved 🐝 #SanAntonioEats #MexicanEats

This is the real deal. Authentic Mexican food. No phony, nasty Tex-Mex here. How can you tell? Well, 'cuz it's a divey place with hideous 1970s orange walls, an outdated TV blaring obnoxious low-quality Mexican crap, tipped over silk plants, and dirty window. Okay, so it's not a nice place. And THAT is exactly what makes is the real deal. The staff are hurried and run about frantically, but manage to be pleasant and efficient. The chips were exceptionally good: thick, thick, thick, crunchy, and yummy. Salsas were fresh and flavorful. The menu is extensive and offers a plethora of standards. I randomly picked the gordita plate. It was enormous, with two gorditas smeared with refried beans and stuffed with carne asada (that's Spanish for "not ground beef, Gringo!"). I left with my stomach full and my wallet only slightly emptied. This is located near my new job, I expect that I will be a frequent flyer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

If I could give it zero stars I would! First of all the food took more than 30 mins. Not sure if the server totally forgot about putting our order in or if the kitchen was behind on orders. The strange thing was that people who kept arriving after us had their food or were already done eating. The server never came & said how much longer it would take even though she could see we were already getting annoyed. In between waiting for our food we could hear our waiter screaming at the kitchen for tortillas she kept screaming at Gerardo if I remember his name right. It was something like “Por ultima vez Gerardo me vas a dar las tortillas si o no”...Finally our food arrived after waiting so long and it wasn’t worth it. We ordered #3 it was meat with cheese & jalapeño slices & also a menudo.Unfortunately, we received our meat burned. The server never came to check on us again to see if everything had tasted fine after dropping off our food. After that we never saw her again. When we finally got a hold of her we told her how dissatisfied we were because of the long wait & because the food was burned & we weren’t going to eat or pay for something we couldn’t eat. She then said that she had to ask the manager even though she clearly saw the meat was burned. She took another 15 mins & we ask her again what the deal was & she said she had to call the manager by phone & ask what to do. After “calling” the manager she said we would only pay for the other entree we had which was the menudo. The menudo was okay but overall our experience has been the worst at this place. We are not the kind of people who returns food but this wasn’t even edible to eat. The service also was terrible we don’t go out to eat to hear them screaming at the cooks in the kitchen. All the guests were feeling uncomfortable looking around because we couldn’t believe what we were hearing while the other servers were just laughing. Giving good service and delivering great food should be your number one priority and honestly you lost a costumer. Our server never apologized until the end there was a young man who cashed us out & he did apologize. Overall it was a terrible experience, very unprofessional & we won’t be returning plus the almost 2 hours we lost...

I had ordered over the phone on 12/1/24, 2 orders of mini tacos and 1 order of tacos charros. I couldn't remember the name of the tacos charros and told the waitress over phone i cant remember the name of the tacos that had charros beans queso fresco and aguacate and she responded she knew what tacos i was wanted. I arrive at the restaurant around 11:15p and food was still not ready even-though she said it would be 10 mins. I noticed in receipt charros al la aguacate and asked her what that was when she brought my order that it was charros beans instead. Her response was to apologize and do tacos which would take another 5-10mins more where my food would get cold and no offer of any discount due to inconvenience due to her error. I asked for refund for the charros beans but she said she couldn’t and had to refund full receipt amount which takes days to refund to my bank account and recharge for correct amount which of course they have to double charge my bank account. Then i see that only red hot sauce was in my bag then what they usually give out which is green and red and she assumed i wanted red without asking me. I dont like red so that upset me even more and her response was that its near closing time and my response that is not the excuse not only you messed up my order and inconvenience me that i didnt get what ordered and left without it. Yall lack customer service when your employees make mistakes to compensate and what i got offered was a fountain drink as compensation no thanks ill keep the charros beans that i wont eat where asada, avocado, and queso fresco was put in the small side order that your employee assumed i ordered due to lack of listening skills. Please do better ill wont be going there for awhile! Get a better night person to represent your company!!!!!SMH

WHAT DOES AN APP have to do with your staff??????? SMH WOW......even the owner...
