We stayed here Thanksgiving week from November 20 to November 25, 2017. We have a Coleman popup camper and stayed in spot 7. This was nice because it was right next to the cabin that our family was staying in, but it was also a little tight for our camper and truck once the camper was set up. They are very picky about keeping the cars off the grass and off the paved road when parked. All the camper spots are gravel and very well maintained and level. The bathrooms are nice, well kept and clean. There is a hot tub and pool that I believe is heated. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but some of the family staying there did. There is a fenced off area to let your dog play; an activity room; a fitness room; and best of all, it was right on the River Walk bike and walking trail. A short bike ride, 4 miles, puts you in the heart of San Antonio. I believe there is a leash and no barking rule and most people seemed to be very conscientious about this - except for the person staying in the cabin behind our camping spot. The put about 5 small dogs in a pet cage and set them out during the day to bark, and bark, and bark. The same dogs were also frequently let out to roam around, not too far - just around our camp site. I probably would have complained to the office, but we spent most of the time out riding bikes or on the river walk. The dogs were kept quiet at night. This campground is in town so there is traffic noise, sirens, and also trains that seemed rather loud at times. Thankfully the trains were not constant, but they did pass late at night and early mornings it seemed like. I only interacted with the office worker briefly, but she seemed very friendly and helpful and reports from other family members staying there in cabins and campers were that they were nice as well. The cabin my family stayed in looked very nice, well kept, and in good repair. Also, the neighborhood is really an industrial type setting. I didn't see a lot of people about except at the bus stop every so often. I didn't have cause to walk down the street, but I wouldn't have been afraid if the need had arose. I would recommend this campground and if I were to camp in San Antonio again I would...
Read moreThe "ladys" in the office are very rude and unprofessional. Additionally, there is no discount for extended stays because it's their busy time of year and they claim to be out of monthly spaces. They threaten to make you leave or move you from one spot to another if you don't pay for your entire stay in advance even though there are many empty spaces available. They act like it is a huge inconenience to block out your space or move a new reservation to the next spot over to accommodate your extended stay even though we told them everytime we forked over more money for the next week's stay that we'd be here thru the end of February. We spent in excess of $2500 at this place and finally had to move because they rudely said our space was no longer available for us. You would think good customer service would be part of what you pay for but it's not because they know the next person will come along and pay the same exhorbent rate. The TINY jacuzzi and heated pool are closed regulary if it is "too cold" outiside and it closes at 10 PM when it is open. The same people sit in the hot tub every night for hours at a time with no consideration for other patrons and you can forget about every sitting in there without being questioned on every detail of your life....absolutely no respect for your privacy or relaxing in this place. There are huge fire ants in the women's shower/restroom facility, it always smell like sewer in there and there is a pipe that leaks or overflows on your feet when you shower from somewhere into one of the shower stalls. People walk their dogs and yak it up at all hours of the night disturbing your quiet time, they let their dogs potty on your grass spot and pee on your tires, the wi-fi service doesn't work most of the time and you regularly hear gun fire during the night because it's a bad part of town. The grounds people are nice and the lady that cleans the restroom does a good job but as far as management and office...
Read moreWe have been RVing for over 20yrs. We have stayed at this RV park numerous times in the last few years. This time was the worst. This stay was June 7th, leaving on the 8th. The staff at check-in was grumpy. Attempts to initiate a conversation were met with silence. I appreciate her efficiency, but I could have got the same from a kiosk. She never mentioned an escort to the site, we know our way around the park, so we proceeded to the site unescorted. I passed a staff member in a golf cart. We had to make several turns to get to our site. As I approached our site, I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw the same staff person standing outside of his cart at the last turn with arms out like I did something wrong. I felt like it was rude. Later in the evening, we used Uber to travel downtown. The Uber driver arrived at our site, as we entered the vehicle, he mentioned that someone in a golf cart was giving him a hard time as he came into the park. We entered his vehicle and began to leave the park. As we were leaving, the same staff member in the golf cart had apparently followed the Uber driver part-way into the park, exited his cart and was standing in the road with one hand up and the other holding his phone ready to take a photo. The staff person appeared to be wanting us to stop, the driver said he was the same person he had contact with and went on past, the staff person appeared to have taken a picture of us with his phone, as if we had done something wrong. We noticed since last visit, there seemed to be additions to the rules list. The environment of this park has changed from an inviting resort to a regimented compound. I hope this was a one-time event, but it doesn't matter. There are other RV Parks in San Antonio. What stood out to us this visit was the number of empty sites on a weekend. I gave this review 2 stars, because the site was neat and the park appeared to...
