First of all I'm not even able to add photos to this review which seems odd to me. Myself and a coworker were checking in here for the week for a work project. First of all neither room was ready (3:15pm) and we were told it would be 30minutes or less. Well we sat in our truck right in front of the rooms for nearly an hour while we watched the cleaning person take their time. I would say that's great if the place was actually clean. It was ok at best. Found some hairs in my bed sheets. Later my coworker messaged me to come look at her room. There were mayflies all over the ceiling and some coming out of the air conditioner. There was also some weird looking flying ant/wasp. So I decided to go back to my room to look up, yup same deal mayflies all over the ceiling. To make it worse as I was looking it became increasingly obvious that the person who cleaned the room had been smoothing them all over the ceiling and the door with a broom or something. So they knew the bugs were there and said nothing. We went to tell the owner we would be canceling the remainder of our stay. He agreed to a refund for both rooms but I found out the next day when we were checking out that he only refunded the one room. He wasn't around so unfortunately the person working the desk couldn't do anything about it. Still waiting to hear back from the owner. Definitely wouldn't stay again. The photos they have online were clearly taken when the place opened. Also we went to breakfast and the water dispenser had a moldy napkin at the base to catch the dripping water. The only decent thing in there was the waffle maker. There was also mold around the one wall where the employee fridge was plugged in. Finally, the WiFi was absolutely terrible and I couldn't get...
Read moreThis was one of the most disgusting hotels I have ever experienced. There was grime and garbage on the stairs and walkways. There was pubic hair on the floor in the bathroom, the toilet was damaged, the sofabed is so old that the mattress falls into the support structure, and nothing was clean. Also, the sofabed was much narrower than any I had ever seen. Luckily we needed it for 2 small children and they were able to fit, but it should not be listed as capable of supporting 2 people, as it was no larger than a twin. I'm not even sure that an attempt was made at sweeping the floor. There were no towels in the room, not a bath towel, a hand towel, or even a wash cloth. There were no cups available for drinking water. There were 2 toilet paper dispensers, but one was empty and the other had a partial roll that ran out before our one-night stay was over. There was no bedding available for the sofa bed. I went to the front desk to ask for towels and was given 3 (reservation was for 6 people). I had to ask for more and was given a 4th. I requested bedding for the sofa bed and was given sheets only. I had to ask multiple times to be given a blanket. The breakfast was one of the worst I've seen, and even the eating area was dirty. The entire property needs a deep cleaning, including exterior power washing in the stairwells. I don't mind old paint and facilities, but it should be clean at a minimum, and rooms should be properly...
Read moreDue to snow storms the previous night, travel on this day was slow. We were VERY GRATEFUL to get a room. The girl at check-in was very nice (even though previous people were VERY rude to her). The parking lot was literally a sheet of ice. It appeared nothing had been done to try to clear any of the snow/ice from the previous night. (We checked in after 6pm). This became even more obvious as we went to the stairs, also completely covered in ice. This was very dangerous for anyone but trying to get my elderly mother up was incredibly scary. The room itself was very nice & clean but we discovered that we had NO pillowcases,NO towels, very little toilet paper & no tissue. I went to the front office to ask for towels and a roll of tp, lady said they were completely depleted from the night before. I travel this area several times a year--the weather here can be rough & businesses in this area get slammed. What I DO NOT understand is how a business in Santa Rosa NM is not prepared for such situations. I drove down the street & bought a 6 pack of toilet paper for $1 at Family Dollar. I kept one & passed the rest to other rooms that also needed it. I never dreamed I would spent $85 for a room with no towels, toilet paper, pillow cases, tissue & that I could barely get up the stairs. I'm sure on a normal day, this is a pretty decent place..but on this particular day I was incredibly...
