Pros ; lots of storage space for both rooms (pull out sofa and bedroom) to put your luggage and clothes away.
Bathroom is spacious as well and the door isn't right up against the shower like most hotels; the sliding doors really help with that.
The entire room is VERY spacious and plenty seating options. For the two rooms we had the bedroom was closed off from the kitchen/living which is nice if you're making food it won't transfer to your sleeping space.
Plenty outlets
Nightlight in the bathroom, and well stocked amenities included (bar and hand soap/lotion/shampoo/conditioner/body wash).
Rented a hot plate and pot from the front desk and I'm glad they provide stainless steel pots; it's more sanitary than the non stick ones.
Cons
Room #1
Missing a whole tv and remote in the bedroom Dead bugs on the washroom floor Cleaning rag left in the shower More dead bugs every day by the window and sink (no idea where they came from they just kept popping up) AC smelled musty and humid in both rooms, got worse as days went by Office chair had questionable stains The closet/ room light had a burnt out lightbulb (this is the main bedroom light) Fridge stopped working and had to room switch The window shade panel was broken off and just dangling and had odd stains on it
Room #2 So many ants all over the counters! Unknown splattered liquid over the wall in the bedroom (very visible) Previous guest left underwear on the ground in the closet in plain sight (we had to get a bag from the desk and throw it out ourselves - the front desk asked us if we'd like someone to go remove it? that shouldn't really be a question 😭) Office chair also had questionable stains Wifi doesn't work in the bedroom
Facility
The gym needs more supervision; there was constantly kids (under 13) there playing around with equipment and attempting to flip the Peloton bike upside down which I'm sure is all visible from the front desk yet for 1 hour + nothing was done. Dumbbells were lying around and towels on the floor; a hazard. It's already a small space to start with.
The treadmill by the window also has water dripping on it from overhead! Imagine my surprise mid run when I felt a splash on my head.
The breakfast ; nothing is labelled properly (eggs listed as bacon, bacon listed as biscuits, no idea what's what)
Additionally the cross contamination; ONE pair of tongs for meat, bread and eggs? Good luck if you have any allergy or dietary restrictions.
The bathroom doors; I honestly thought there was handles missing. The "handle" (there is no handles!) make no sense and are so challenging to open and that's as a able bodied person; I can't imagine how it would be on seniors, kids or those with accessibility issues, or sharing a room with someone you're not too familiar with.
The service; aside from the maintenance gentleman who worked the weekend nights & Shay who was as helpful as she could be in the night when the fridge stopped working, every other employee didn't really seem to know how to handle guest services and seemed bothered when you approached them.
The weekend was packed and busy yet there was only ONE employee working the desk running around! Please staff better for the sake of your employees.
We had an issue in the morning and were standing at the desk for a bit & the front desk agent was just off to the side preparing breakfast for themself...a more appropriate time to do that would be before breakfast starts or when the lobby is free of guests, as no one else was covering the desk at the time.
The thermostat is also a motion sensor for some reason. If you're out of the room, it shuts off. So in the middle of the night, it will shut off because it doesn't sense anything.
The lack of cottons sheets is also disappointing; they only have polyester. Laundry is also more expensive than surrounding hotels in the area so keep that in mind.
In short ; if you value basic cleanliness, this is not the place to be. As a long time Hilton member, this was below basic...
Read moreOn Wednesday July 22 at approximately at 10:49pm I made a call to this location asking about the check in age. I am 19 years old and was looking for somewhere to stay as we are going to be out late and live 3 hours away. I came across this hotel on Priceline and thought it looked great. Before booking I decided to call to confirm the check in age I was told by the man over the phone that the check in age is 21 but if I book online they accommodate to the check in age at 18. I then asked again will I be allowed to check in at 19 he then said yes there should be no problem. After explaining to him why I was in the area and was telling him it was my friends birthday and we were just looking for somewhere to stay for the night since we live so far. He proceeded to tell me they don’t have “party rooms” after assuming I misheard him I said I’m sorry what did you say” he said “we don’t have any party rooms if you want to throw a party automatically assuming I was going to throw a party. I told him no I’m sorry it’s just for me and my 3 friends we are coming back from the beach and just need somewhere to stay. He then said oh okay then that’s fine you can check in at 19. I thanked him and asked him for his name just in case there was any issues at check in. He stuttered to give me his name and then stated his name is David. I thanked “David” and went ahead and booked the reservation. After booking 2 days go by and I just wanted confirmation because I didn’t want any issues at check in so I called the hotel and left a voicemail. This morning Friday July 24th at 9am I spoke to the manager Nina as we both started off with a friendly conversation. I let her know the situation and told her I spoke to someone and that he told me they accommodate to people who book online. She asks for the name I then tell her the name I was given was David. She put me on hold to go check. She then comes back on the phone very rudely and tells me that no one works there by the name of David. I was very offended at the way she was coming off almost assuming that I am a liar which is very offense as I told her nothing but the information that was given to me. She proceeds to tell me that there’s only one male that works there and it’s at night time. I told her that’s when I called and I can give her the times. She very rudely kept telling me “it doesn’t matter it doesn’t matter you cannot check in regardless I told her okay that’s fine but he gave me false information and I tried to tell her that he gave me misleading information including his name I even offered to give her the time I called approximately and everything so she could possibly look into this incident and talk to the male that gave me this misleading information. She was very rude and unprofessional in my opinion. when I asked her how to retrieve a refund she was not helpful at all she told me with a heavy attitude “ I don’t know that’s between you and the 3rd party you booked through“ as a manager I felt like she could have been a little more helpful since one of her employees misinformed me. I wish she would have handled it differently at least have been nicer about the situation. I understand I am young and she may have viewed me differently because of my age. I was very polite to her regardless of the way she treated me. I understand being in a management position could be stressful or maybe she was feeling overwhelmed but I still feel that the way she was talking to me and making me to be some sort of liar was very offense on my end. I am writing this simply to inform you of my experience and what I had to go through. I had no intent of being angry towards her or her employee I just wanted to make sure everything was set so when I showed up there were not any issues. I have no anger towards the manager Nina I am more offended as the way she portrayed me to be a possible liar. Please note if you are 18- 20 looking to book don’t even bother most hotels accommodate but...
Read moreWhen we arrived for check in from the airport, a little before 10:00, no one was at the front desk, and I had to wait a good 5 - 10 minutes before the staffer arrived (there was a sign on the desk saying they were busy helping someone else). After check-in, they had to leave the desk again to get a luggage car, as there was none in the lobby. We went up to our room and discovered the AC was not working properly. I called the front desk, who came up to verify the AC wasn't working.
So he went back down to the front desk to determine another room we could move to. He called us to inform us of our new room, and that he would meet us there with the key. We loaded our luggage back on the cart, pushed it all the way from the end of the rooms back to the elevator, and then hung outside the new room for about 20 minutes. He finally arrived saying he had had a line of other guests down there that needed help. The AC in this room was better, although throughout our stay it would randomly turn off in the middle of the night, I'd wake up warm and have to go back over to the thermostat and get the AC back on.
The hotel was pretty standard as far as hotels go. The hot beverage amenities in the off hours weren't so great. I got decaf coffee one night, went over to the front desk to see if they could get me milk for my coffee and I was informed the hotel didn't have any. I've been at several other hotels and they've always been willing to get the milk they have on hand for their breakfast bar to put into my hot beverages. On a later night there were no cups available to get beverages from the dispensers.
On our last night there, we had discovered that we needed to extend our stay because my grandfather, whom my mom and I had flown down to Florida to take care of, had taken a turn for the worst at the hospital and they didn't expect him to last much longer. We had a long evening of calling to extend car rental services and changing flights. We arrived at the hotel exhausted and asked to extend our room there (after waiting 10 minutes for the hotel front desk man to arrive), to be informed that they couldn't help us because they were already overbooked by 3 for the next day. I asked if they were already willing to turn some customers away by overbooking why could they not extend our room. Especially since our stay would be extended by a full week, not just one night. I was then informed that the entire hotel was being used by Diamond level members and I couldn't take precedence over them. I then asked where they would be sending their diamond members who were overbooked, and he said to the Hilton Garden Inn behind them. I looked online and saw that they were sold out for the next night. So I asked the front desk man where else they could be sent since the hotel was also sold out. He said that he could contact the hotel to see if they had openings and would get in touch with us, since some more people had arrived and needed service. I wasn't overly surprised when no one ever called our room to let us know if they had found a hotel that we could stay at. Thankfully I was able to find a Holiday Inn Express, which was able to take our service for the next week, as well as booking an additional room for my aunt and uncle whom also came down to join us. So Saturday morning we loaded up our hotel room, did our best to create coolers with our tote bags to put our food into and then checked into our new hotel room after 3, after another day of being at the hospital. I was very annoyed with the poor service, as well as all the extra work and stress. The Holiday Inn Express we stayed at for the remainder of our trip was very professional, and I was glad that at least we didn't have any additional hotel issues to deal with during a very stressful family situation. My grandfather ended up passing away the next evening in...
