I had booked a room on the 26th of January for my wife's birthday weekend. We had stayed a the villas 5 years ago, also for my wife's birthday and it was such a memorable stay we decided to do it again. Unfortunately this time we weren't as fortunate. ||We checked in around 5pm by I want to say her name was Stacy or Tracy|After getting our keys and a direction to where our room was we noticed it was a handicap accessible room, which didn't bother us, until we walked in and seen a handicap shower instead of the jetted jacuzzi. Before unpacking I immediately went up to the office and explained that the room wouldn't work as we explicitly wanted the jacuzzi and could we change rooms. She said "We are full I can't move you anywhere, I spend a lot of time organizing people's reservations and there is nothing I can do". I told her I made the booking nearly a month prior and called not long after to reconfirm and there was no way a month notice wasn't enough time to secure a room with a jacuzzi. She then began to ask why I had such a problem with the room as it was one of the newly renovated rooms. I explained that I didn't complain about the room only the lack of jacuzzi. Then she said why don't I just use the public jacuzzi. I explained to her that I expected the one in our room and secondly the one outside closes at 10pm, why should we have to alter our plans just because we weren't given the jacuzzi as requested. I then explained that some communication would have been appreciated in advance about my accommodations being changed so that I could have changed my reservations for somewhere else. She then made the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard, she said "I didn't contact you with this because I was afraid you'd cancel". This left me speechless. So even though she couldn't understand why I could possibly be so upset over not having a jacuzzi, she was afraid to inform me that she changed my room to no jacuzzi. I asked her to try and switch us if someone checked out but she never contacted us. I found it funny that I actually seen a few senior guests that probably would have been better suited for the room we were given, but they were in non handicap. And on top of all that our hotel was without power for over 3 hours the night before we checked out so we had to use our phone flashlights just to see. We couldn't even use the kitchen because everything was electric. Very...
Read moreAbsolute gem in Sedona woods! Right off the highway but you wouldn’t know it, buried in lush greenery with oak creek running literal steps behind it. Our room was ready 4 hours early (super appreciated!) but we checked in at normal time. Our room was overlooking the pond, and we adored the spot . Entry was nestled in trees, and every time we stepped onto the patio, ducklings came to hang with mama close by. We saw every kind of bird from song to crane - if you’re a bird person, definitely download the Merlin app for identification, we used it to call the birds and ducks! I was up early Monday 2 and caught sight of a coyote crossing the way, and my hubby and kids came upon some javelinas at dusk by the creek. Bullfrogs croaked at night, and mosquitos weren’t frequent thanks to all the dragonflies and birds around - and BATS! At night they fluttered around. Absolute nature lovers dream. 2 adults, and 2 teen boys, we were perfectly comfortable with the bed and sleeper sofa. The sofa and kitchenette are mentioned in the listings, so we were not surprised here , it was better than most chain hotels honestly. The kitchen has a small stovetop, full fridge/freezer, dishwasher, full sets of dishes/cookware/utensils as well as toaster/coffee/microwave - although I wouldn’t recommend heavy eating cooking, as there is no dish disposal. We brought muffins and sandwich supplies and snacks, stocked the fridge and only ate out for dinner. The bathroom is nice, with a huge jet tub! orange blossom hair/wash provided. Large TV, with a DVD player but no dvds and we couldn’t figure out how to use it, no biggie though. There’s a pool, not tool cold - it’s small but enough for a quick splash. Also a hot tub! There’s a shared area with lights and cookers, tables and a fountain, the ice machine is located here.
Only 15 minutes from great shopping, 20 minutes to Slide Rock Park (go EARLY if you go), and 35 minutes from Out of Africa. We had pizza delivered with no issues (local dominoes was great!) We loved our stay here and it was a highlight...
Read moreSharing the good and the not-so-good to help those that read reviews. The 1 bedroom was spacious with a well equipped partial kitchen (no Oven). Full size refrigerator and microwave, sink, etc. Two large screen TVs with plenty of channels. Very large jacuzzi tub/shower. Great AC and 2 ceiling fans. Nice patio next to the creek nice as long as there are no mosquitos. Nice location not too far outside the main Sedona area. and easy to get things. Common area had 2 gas grills. Large enough pool going to 6' deep as well as clean outside hot tub. Steps down to oak Creek but a tad hard to actually fish or go in the water. ||Not so great include poor choice of dining room and bed furniture as they both protrude and easy to hit (which I did twice). Stone fireplace hearth protrudes in arcadia door walkway. No sheer for the arcadia door/window. Wall in 1 bedroom unit not a full wall on the side shared with the living area so all light and noise was evident. Office hours limited but maps were provided. Once the allotted number of coffee packets are used, you only get 1 per day so make sure you are ready for the morning if an early riser. Two biggest gripes are the walls must be super thin with very little to no insulation. Our neighbors on one side woke me up every morning with their loud going-ons. Front door was found wide open on first morning as housekeeping opened while we are on the patio and didn't shut it so it closed. Pretty upset about that and although maintenance and housekeeping came over, nothing was done. When mentioned at the front desk the women said that's the way they are for the locking mechanism. I suggested they put a sign on the doors so people know. Would have been way to easy to leave and not have the door properly latched only to come back to everything gone! Overall, it was a nice enough resort, however I would look further before staying there again. We only chose it because of being...
