On March 15,2025, I had the pleasure of having Lameisha of the Selma ,Alabama Baymont location to check me in. I was e I tried and so down. SHE has a bubbling personality that you can't do but smile and laugh out loud. She has her customer service down. This is a person who cares about people naturally. Customer service can't be taught. This is a skill one is born with or they were raised up by caring parents or a parent . And sometime it is just in that person if not in they family by on down the line in the family. Because if her I stop worrying and had a great time even tho I was alone. I actually went to sleep and had a good night rest. And the two people that made my stay better I saw about 10:55am Sunday , March 16,2025 this morning,. The other person I had the blessed pleasure of meeting was Marvin the maintenance man. I had issues with my TV. He came right on with a smile and got me started and in English and turned the TV ON PLUS SHOWED ME HOW TO USE THE CONTROL. CUSTOMER SERVISE IS NOT ANYTHING YOU LEARN TO BE GOOD ATVIT. THIS IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE IN YOU. THE LOVE SBDCRESPECT OF P E OPLE SND THEVFACT THST YHEY THEMSRLVES WANT TO BE TREATED NICE. I WILL COME BACK BECAUSE OF THOSE TWO AND A LADY WHO CLEANS SHE MARRIED A GUY I ONCE WORKED WITH, AT SEIYON E HWA IN SELMA,AL ON HWY 41. THOSE ARE YOUR TOP TEAM FROM WHAT I ENCOUNTERED. THOSE OTHER ARE OK . BUT THOSE I SPOKE OF IF I HAD TO CHOICE WHO I WANTED ON DUTY WHEN I COME BACK IT WILL BE THOSE 3. Read moreI don't know where to start but I will give it 3 stars instead of 2 because I was able to get some much needed sleep. ||Admittedly our visit was to capture a special event - the 60th Anniversary of the Selma Jubilee so I expected a surcharge of higher rates but more than double the regular rate?|The Baymont is functional but it is dated and while I understand the need to charge more, customers do expect value for their investment. The Baymont is more of a cross between a motel and a hotel. It is more of the low budget model. Nothing fancy but enough to get the job done. The one bit of good news is the bed did allow for peaceful sleep. The breakfast was adequate and the staff managing it was excellent. Her name was Audrey and as a Selma native that was another plus.|Now one other sore spot and this goes to the Baymont as well as Expedia, who doesn't like taking blame for anything…..even though I used their site to find the Baymont in the first place. My plans were fluid so I did not want to take advantage of the pay now option. Instead I opted for the pay at time of check-in. Only problem is starting on the fourth day BEFORE my reservation they attempted to charge my card for the full amount. Sadly, once I did check in, I was informed by reservation was canceled. Anyway, we were able to grab a room at a little more than I had reserved. What type of sham operation is this? Given the special event and Selma being remote, we went along to take what we could. The hotel is easy to locate, there is plenty of parking. My issue was the cost and quality. Overall adequate but the rooms could use some basic upgrading such as providing a chair for the desk or having more electrical outlets or a TV that works.||Based on my experience I am...
