My husband and I checked in for 5 nights, for a staycation getaway! We had a premium king room.
The hotel is very modern and very clean (we brought our own Clorox wipes, lint rollers, Febreze and Lysol spray cause thats what we do when we travel and it was probably not needed; thats how clean the room was). We were greeted by a very nice lady at the front desk when we checked in and she had us wait a few minutes for a "better room".
The room was updated, super clean and quiet. The bathroom was clean and well laid out. We loved the soaking tub and separate shower (premium king is worth it!) We had a microwave in our room, no extra charge (some of the reviews mentioned not having one in their room) and it too was clean. Small mini fridge held 2 liters of water, 1 24 oz water bottle, 1 take out container and 3 take out containers of Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake.
During our entire stay housekeeping was cleaning the rooms and common areas. We used the gym every day and it had a water machine to fill your bottle with cold or hot water, which I used multiple times. They kept the sanitary wipes stocked and people used them. They had 4 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, dumbells up to 75lbs, yoga mats, and multiple pieces of weight machines ( I don't know all the names but I did pull ups, they had a pull down bar, and machines for shoulder/chest presses and leg workouts; 5 weight machines in all). Very well equipped!
The pool was barely used but it is separated from the gym with a wall of windows so while I was on the elliptical, I watched the housekeeping team clean the pool and pool area. And no one bothered us when we went in there outside of pool hours ;)!
In the morning, they sit out Tea and coffee service by the entrance to the gym/reception area. My husband thought the coffee was very good (robust) and the orange and lemon teas were my favorites! In the afternoon, they put ice water with fruit and Lemonade out. Nice touches.
They have a pantry, which we didn't use but if you need to buy snacks, water or medicine on the fly and don't want to walk to the nearby CVS or Wawa, you have options.
The lobby fireplace stayed lit, there was a conference and since it was by the airport, quite a few flight attendants. Mostly business travelers which was nice (no kids!!!)
The parking is ample and although they say there is no parking on the 1st level during the day unless going to the restaurant, we parked there everyday and no one bothered us.
Speaking of the restaurant, this is where we had our only issues. George Martin's Grillfire is a hotel restaurant. If you know, you know! Hotel restaurants are historically meh because they have a captive tourist audience. We went on Sunday night, I'd made reservations so no worries there. But the hostess didn't greet us (always a ominous sign). She sat us right away and then we waited. And waited. When the server finally came, we ordered. I got the meatloaf and my husband got the ribeye sandwich. I will say the food was excellent, when finally got it but my meal was cold! Like not hot at all. I would have sent it back but our server never came back to the table!! We waited 25 minutes and finally flagged down another server who helped close out our bill! I took my food back to the room and heated it up and it was delicious. But disappointing service experience.
We went to Anejo Rose, the hotel's Mexican restaurant the next day but they had just opened and the bar was dirty. We left right away and went to the bar at Yardhouse at Arundel Mills. In fact we went to Arundel Mills 3 times during our stay and had fun.
Since my favorite restaurants are downtown in Baltimore, we went there during the week and had great meals. If you don't mind a 40 minute drive, Gunther and Co. is a great place to dine in a trendy atmosphere.
All in all, I am writing this review before I even check out, which shows how great this hotel is. And staycations are the best; especially during the week. It is fun to laise around while the rest of the world is at work. ...
Read moreThis review is strictly based on my wedding on 10/9/22, if it was just based on my stay it would be 5 stars. My wedding was originally booked in 2019 for 2021, covid happened and I pushed it back to 2022. Hotel did not care they charged $2,500 date change fee, so if you are looking for a empathetic venue, keep looking. During the course of this time my event was passed through 3 different hotel coordinators. My last one was Landa so I’ll speak to her, she was amazing! I’ll get in more detail later about her greatest. Ladies beware of “Shadow” he has the right name because he sneaks into play at your event to destroy everything!!! I never was introduced or seen this man before the week of my wedding. He was there to cause chaos!!! For example, before I ordered my seating chart for my wedding, I was told by the second hotel coordinator that I could do a seating of tables of 8 and 10. The day of my wedding Shadow argued with my wedding planner and Landa stating that I could not! But why not? What could possibly be the reason behind not adding seating to accommodate my chart even with me saying that’s what I was told I could do. Next, this hotel provides you rooms where your wedding party can get dressed in comfort without being in the bridal suite which is great! Of course with the extra space you want to add a few decorations and small finger foods and drinks to accommodate your starving bride and groom along with the wedding party. Again, Shadow storms through to cause chaos! While the ceremony was going on this man removed all of our food and drinks out of those rooms. He told no one. My wedding party panicked because they had several bottles of Moët that were now missing, valued over $2000. Once the smoked cleared he said he took them out because “alcohol from guest couldn’t be on that floor” but why not come to someone to tell them that, why did you touch our property? Little did he know my groomsmen and groom were all police, they brought up the unlawful removal of property and theft charges that he could have been brought on him especially with the value of the items. This man had No intention on telling them where our stuff went. Shadow’s next area of destruction, nowhere in my contract does it say that you need to get smoke and cold sparks approved. Here he is again telling my wedding planner that I could not use that. Landa stepped in to save that for me! Grateful for her! Here’s Shadow again, the day of my final walkthrough this man is telling me that I can’t use floating candles in their vase that they provide, I told Landa and she’s like “huh”?! That’s not true, if you buy them we can use them. Omg let me not forget how the day of my final walkthrough, my DJ asked Shadow, can you please show me where I what door and elevator I can use to bring up my equipment the day of event, and this man went back and forth with Landa in front of us all about why he’s not and do not feel like showing him now and how he can just show him the day before. This unprofessional display lasted for at least 5 minutes with Landa constantly asking him can you please just so him for his comfort and peace of mind. We were all so shocked and his display of unprofessionalism. For the amount I paid for this wedding sir you need to show him the moon if he asked! Or just any amount that a guest pays, because at the end of the day your guest should be priority and with the stress that weddings bring why be and extra headache? Landa on the other hand was amazing. She handled everything, provided storage for our items, provided her number as a point of contact for any needs! The day of my rehearsal my wedding planner’s staff was late, Landa stepped right in to get things started so we can at least have some ideas of flow before she arrived, amazing! She handled me with care and every situation she kept me calm and had my back and was able to save my day. So if you have your wedding here just...
Read moreOur only daughter was married, and no words can describe Landa, the Senior Catering Sales Manager at The Hotel at Arundel Preserve. I will describe a couple of the highlights, but I have attached my email of gratitude to Landa and the staff to give an idea of the wonderful event, they made it the most special day we have had! Worth every penny and then some!!!
The hotel was spotless, the service was excellent, the food was outstanding, the decor beautiful and thoughtfully set, the ceremony was perfectly laid out; our guests stated that we were extremely hospitable...thanks to everyone at The Hotel at Arundel Preserve who were organized and served our guests with warm smiles as if they were a part of our family. There were signs set for our guests once they arrived so there was no confusion and Landa led everyone to each part of the event so people were never left confused about what was next.
THANK YOU EMAIL TO LANDA Hello, Landa 😘 Words cannot describe our gratitude for all your hard work in the preparations of everything!!! You made it all you said it would be and more. From the beginning you were there, you assured us that all would be great and that you had us.... you meant and kept to your every word. I'm forever grateful. The staff as a whole was amazing as well, they were kind with smiles and ready to aid whenever needed...until the very end. Our guests were left without words as they received their hors d'oeuvres while we took pictures, the ceremony and the reception were flawless!!!! Many of the guests asked how we found out about The Arundel Preserve and we shared with them that we use it as our date night, we stay in a room and eat at the restaurants downstairs and if we need something we can go right down the street to get anything we'd like because we know the area. They were highly impressed by the hotel, food, staff and you! Many of the ladies there were great organizers and so they appreciated how you were clear on keeping me where I needed to be, with my daughter, and not everywhere else. I do wish you could've stayed for the party, but I know that it was already a long day for you🤗
You have my greatest gratitude for all your hard work and then some!!! Please let Selma (I might have her name incorrect, but she was in charge of everything after you left) know that she and her staff were greatly appreciated!
Thank you, again, for keeping your word.... the wedding was a huge expense for our little pockets, BUT we are in no way sorry for every penny spent; we would do it all over again so long as you were...
