I stopped at Maiwand today on my way to the mall and was blown away! This place is amazing! The food was out of this world! We will definitely be stopping here again. The rice!!! the hummus!!! the bread!!! the kabobs!!! the chicken tikka!!! All of it incredible, even the salad dressing and 'green' sauce were amazing. In addition to all the accolades I can bestow the food, as a chef- professionally, myself, the real amazing part of the experience was the staff. As many know, Covid has been hard on the restaurant industry. The struggle has gotten really real for service workers. Not only was the staff very informative about Covid guidelines, the staff member who helped us, James (?), went above and beyond when another guest refused to follow mask policy. They helped control an escalating situation, was courteous and kept a cool head when the other patron would not, and made sure we were still comfortable after things had been resolved. He then went on to maintain the highest level of professionalism while handling the rest of the operations. Having someone who can perform at that level in this business is an incentive for me to come back. I felt safe and taken care of. I will be coming back and I highly recommend this to anyone else looking for a unique, delicious, and safe...
Read moreMy partner and I have seen this plsce El for a while and decided to try it tonight. I got the Tikka/Seekh combo and she got the chicken kebabs, and we got hummus and pita and extra cilantro sauce. TL/DR: Food was absolutely delicious. A lot of the food has cilantro, so if you have the âcilantro tastes like soapâ thing I would recommend emphasizing that to the restaurant to make sure itâs not on anything you get. The seekh was pretty good and Iâd definitely get it again, but the Tikka is my first choice. The flavor and texture of the chicken legs was incredible. My partner loved the chicken kebabs, too. The flavor was good and it was super tender. The hummus was fantastic. I normally dislike hummus, but I think because this has tahini in it, it made it taste less like chickpeas. So if youâre like me and not a big chickpea person, you may like the hummus. It does have some spice to it, looks like some chili oil of some sort on top? Iâm a huge fan of spice but my partner isnât. Even so, she enjoyed the part under the spice. The cilantro yogurt was delicious. It was zingy and cool and refreshing and paired well with the chicken and the rice. I would buy it by the...
Read moretheir food was very good, somewhat pricey for lunch. I visited the hanover Arundel Mills location. for dine-in and take out. You order food at the counter, and the staff person brings it out to you. Itâs a very small place in a small shopping center. There was trash on the floor, and the tables were dirty. Although the menu on the wall noted they are offer for âcateringâ. They do not. I ordered takeout for family of six and asked if they could do family style and put food in big foil-type pans. The cashier said they could do that; except that was not how my food was arranged. Instead of family style meal pricing, you have to pay for individual meals or entrees. The meat was in one container, chickpeas in one black takeout box. rice was in another small, black takeout box. The amount was insufficient and too low compared to what you would get if you ate in in person; mantu was placed in two small separate containers instead of putting them both together in a larger container. the naan was expensive. samosas bland and flat. I spent close to $100 and did not I receive my...
