Thanks to Anatoly and Rose for a wonderful stay at their home. Last week we visited Vermont for the first time, and from googling reviews, it was obvious that this would be a very nice B&B to stay at. I am very happy to say that our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Anatoly and Rose clearly love sharing their home and meeting new people. We couldn't have felt more welcome. And informative! Pretty much anything we were interested in, and they were happy to provide helpful information and tips. For example, on one of our days we wanted to go for a nice, scenic drive. Anatoly dropped a route to my phone of a circular drive to Stowe and back, avoiding the typical highways. It was a beautiful drive through small towns and very much appreciated.
Our room was pristine. One of the reasons I selected this Inn is that I have severe allergies to dogs and cats. The Heart of the Village Inn has a strict no pets policy and our room was incredibly clean. The breakfasts? Oh my...let's just say that we skipped lunch every day! Their breakfast menus have many selections for starters and mains, and from the presentation to the quality to the quantity, we left for our days very well fortified (stuffed!). The blueberry pancakes were to die for... One of the other nice things is that they had selected seating times that you could pick. This meant they could take the care obviously required for these magnificent breakfasts, and the dining rooms only had a few couples at a time seated.
We absolutely loved our stay, and will be back again some day. Thanks again from Ottawa, Anatoly and Rose. I can't imagine a better...
Read moreMy wife and I planned a weekend in Vermont for our anniversary and we wanted something quaint and intimate that was close to the local attractions. We found the Heart of the Village Inn online and it had great reviews. Upon arrival, Anatoly and Rose greeted us with welcome drinks while they gave us a tour of the grounds. They also surprised us with a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate as we made our way to the room. In our room there were chocolates from a local chocolatier on the bed. The room was clean and had plenty of space for us and our belongings. Our suite had an amazing 2 person whirlpool tub, perfect for a romantic getaway! There were ample choices for breakfast, such as their Nutella stuffed french toast, eggs Benedict over crab cakes, or their specialty "Vermont Cigars." Everything we had from their menu was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented.
The main house has a beautiful wraparound front porch with rocking chairs - perfect for enjoying the meticulously maintained gardens while sipping a cocktail. Within a very short walking distance, there is a handful of country stores with a variety of local treats, treasures, and trinkets. Also close by are a few restaurants recommended by our hosts. Unfortunately we were not able to go to any because of our plans with family for the weekend, however their menus looked amazing.
Thank you Rose and Anatoly for taking care of us on our anniversary weekend and making our stay everything we could have asked for.
Overall, we had an excellent time and would not hesitate to book again. Highly...
Read moreLet me tell you about a magical place called the Heart of the Village Inn where you enter as a friend and you leave as family. The moment we entered the main house we were greeted with smiles and offered refreshments. Anatoly and Rose made us feel right at home! We chatted for a long time before we were shown to our beautiful room. Our accommodations were charming! We picked the Bostwick room in the carriage house and we were not disappointed! Rose and Anatoly have taken great care with the appointments in both the main house and the carriage house. The custom chandelier in the dining room made of silver coffee/tea pots is a thing of beauty! Everywhere we looked there was a beautiful piece of furniture or painting that fascinated us. My husband and I have stayed at many hotels, and to be honest, a bed and breakfast is a much better experience. Speaking of breakfast, let me tell you about the breakfast! We started with a lovely greeting from Rose and progressed to one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! We started with a Vermont coffee and half a pear with cinnamon, maple drizzle and cranberries. We progressed to a loaded omelette and blueberry pancakes that were absolutely delicious! The maple syrup was local as well as all the ingredients that made up our breakfast. My husband and will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary this year in October and we will be making arrangements to stay at the Heart of the Village Inn again. I assure you, if you decide to book a stay with Rose and Anatoly, you will not be...
