Cucina Antica — Restaurant in Shelburne

For Valentine's Day I decide to go to your restaurant. Saw all the great reviews and figured it would be nice to take my date there. When we got there we were told maybe not possible to seat us. I ask why if a table for two is available at the front. Was told it was a reservation but they were late a half hr. Really? And how long were they thinking of holding it? was going to be my reply but another person told us that we could have it when the first person couldn't make up their mind. Everything nice but our server took an inordinate time to check on us the one or two times she did. All my water refills were asked for, to other servers, and when I needed something I would ask another server. Specially the one who had the very first table on the right of the door, she was awesome, checking up on her table every so often. She had the first table on the right as soon as you walk in. too bad she wasn't our server. When we finished, I had to go to the back to get a carry out box cause I waited enough time. I was asked back there if I wanted dessert but I declined. I went to the men's room and had the bill ready when I returned to the table, thank you. While i was getting the payment I took my time cause I was waiting for a rose that the last five tables that left before me received. I waited in vain. We left without one for my date. I admit, your food was great, I thank you for that. Your service on the other hand. I work at the airport for a major airline and I'm asked tens of times a week from travelers, where's a good restaurant in the area. I love, love this place. It is a small restaurant in a small shopping place in Shelburne VT. The food is consistently good. My favorite dish is the Greek plate. It is an overflowing dish, filled with Greek salad (Feta,red onions and Black olives included). On the plate, are grilled chicken breast, spinakopitta (delicious) and grilled pita, yogurt sauce and salad dressing. How clever of them not to drown the salad in dressing. In the last few months restaurant after restaurant has overdressed the salad. Their pizzas are really good ,my favorite is artichoke and sausage. They also have all kinds of entrees and specials. Good beer and wine selection. My latest favorite is 1/2 glass of beer from Goodwater Brewery. You say 1/2 a glass? This used to be our restaurent of choice atleast once a week.... the previous owners did a much better job restaurant used to be packed service was fast, portions were alot better for your money drinks never empty, the cook used to greet his customers make sure they were satisfied

My father and I both Ordered a tomato lobster bisque both of our soups had no lobster not even a peice

My fathers steak was pan fried and cold

Empty plates left on the table for the better of our meal (small tables)

Service was horrible empty glasses for most of Our meal

Portions considerably smaller for the same price
