I looked at the reviews before my dad and I stayed here but we decided to give this place the chance since we both were so exhausted from driving. I booked the room at 730 pm for a room with 2 beds and arrived 30 mins later. The front desk said there was no more rooms with 2 beds and I said well why did it let me book the room if there isn’t any left? He had a whole attitude with me . I said well if there isn’t any left then I want my money back and I’ll find somewhere else to go and suddenly he is saying he isn’t good at computers and he says all that is left is rooms with a single bed ,my response to that is I need 2 beds and I prefer to be in the same room as my father,if there isn’t any rooms left with 2 bed then I just want a refund . He didn’t like that response . Suddenly ,oh I guess there is 1 room left but it’s on the 2nd floor ,I said that’s fine . Then I asked him what is there to eat around here and he said well I really don’t want to tell you . I love Texas and each and every single person I have ever met has always been so polite ,this guy was a jerk. Luckily,we did get a room . Place smells like cigarettes and marijuana. Beds were hard ,shower curtain covered in red stain and there’s blood splattered on the bathroom door. The main door to the room isn’t very secure. I definitely would not ever stay here again and HIGHLY SUGGEST no one else to either. Also the smoke alarm is missing from the room which is a HUGE PROBLEM. Yes, I wrapped the blow dryer around the door because I was definitely not feeling safe and there were people in the hallway very loud . At least if someone tried to enter my room I would at least wake up from the blow...
Read moreYou know, I picked this hotel because I've had good luck with Super 8 and I wanted a slightly better experience than a place like Sherman Inn. This place was so incredibly awful. Arrived and the man said that my single bed king room wasn't available, that he would give me a double. He tried to make it sound better by saying it would be the same price as what I had booked. I told him, "I should hope so, as I am not getting the king sized bed I booked" (And I had booked through Priceline, which means he couldn't have changed my rate anyways, I gave my money to Priceline.) He tried to tell me that the room he would give me would have TWO KING beds in it. I did not believe him, as I've never seen such a room before and I've stayed in many hotels. Well, we get up to the room and of course it was two full sized, not king, beds. And the room.... oh my god. Hole in the bathroom door, tv didn't work, bed hard as a rock, dirty toilet, smoke detector hanging by wires from the ceiling, bugs in the light fixtures, and NO HOT WATER!!! This is completely ridiculous. I wish I had read the reviews before I stayed. NOT TO MENTION, when we went downstairs to grab breakfast, which is advertised is available, the front desk woman was laying down on a couch with her feet on the cushions in the lobby, talking to someone who appeared to be homeless, and bragging to him about how she had put away all the breakfast items so that "These Sherman people" wouldn't get "free shit"
Completely nonprofessional staff with bad attitudes. I can't believe Super 8 puts their logo...
Read moreDo NOT stay here. Disgusting. Unsanitary. Overpriced. Staff stealing from you.
It was disgusting. We only stayed because our car broke down. There was mold in the shower, the room smelled like mold, the hallway smelled like cigarettes, there was an acrylic fingernail on the ground by the nightstand, the cord to the hairdryer was so frayed that it didn’t work and the hairdryer itself was an electrical hazard, wires were exposed on multiple lamps, everything was covered in dust, I could go on. To make matters worse, we stayed on a weekday and asked for a late checkout bc our car wouldn’t be repaired for another hour or two. But they wanted to charge us to stay ONE extra hour. I’ve never had a hotel deny a late checkout (1-2 hour extension) on a slow day.
ALSO, the nighttime guy at the front desk told us the pet fee had to be paid in cash, separate from our credit card payment for the stay. In the morning, the daytime front desk guy put the pet fee on our credit card bill. I’m pretty sure the nighttime desk guy just wanted $40 cash from us so he could pocket it.
The mattress had a HUGE blood stain on it like someone was killed or seriously hurt there. It was on the corner/side of the mattress making it unlikely to be menstrual blood or a serious nose bleed. The mattress was so firm that we both woke up stiff and sore. The bed frame is a metal contraption that sticks out to stub your toe/able/knee on. The bed frame is so loud and squeaky that it scared me whenever my husband would...
