Rodeway Inn & Suites Sidney Historic Downtown I-80 — Hotel in Sidney

This is a budget, no frills property and it definitely met the expectations that I had for it. You can tell that the property was built as a motel in the 60's or early 70's making it a little dated but it has been well maintained, everything functioned well and was nice and clean.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the property was nice and quiet. I stayed here overnight while making a road trip along I-80 and was very pleased with the property. The WiFi was great, the bed comfortable, there was plenty of parking, and the area felt safe.

The property served a continental breakfast but I didn't partake, choosing alternative breakfast options elsewhere. Complimentary coffee was available in the lobby as well. I'd definitely recommend this place for budget travelers for sure.

One thing to note, though (no reflection on this property), is that Verizon service was terrible to non-existant in all of Sidney so if you have Verizon, be sure to pull down map tiles early to be able to use them offline in this town or you might be stuck...

First of all, don't make a reservation. Reservations cost twice as much as the nightly rate posted on the building, and they cannot be canceled within 24 hours of the stay. CANNOT. You will pay a fee equal to the cost of the night's stay if you cancel. We had an emergency and tried to cancel our reservation the day of, and the owner basically said that he didn't care what emergency we were having. The room had peeling wallpaper and painted cinderblock, every electrical outlet was overloaded by splitters, and the whole venue was crummy and dingy. The bathroom had mold growing in corners, and the lobby bathroom (which was locked and required a key from the front desk) was filthier. There were signs handwritten on the walls in bad English, and there was a cup of something yellowing on the sink counter. I'd give this a negative starts if I could. This is the WORST place I've ever stayed in. The pictures online are deceiving. Our room didn't look anything like what is shown online. The beds were uncomfortable and the room had an odd odor to it. It was so strong that blankets were pulled over heads so we could try to sleep. Also, in the of the night, one of my kids got sick and threw up on the bedding. There was no one at the front desk to help us get clean bedding. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. I tried to get a refund. I called Expedia for help. The rep called the owner and the rep said the owner was irrate that he had to clean up the mess.. The mess... Which was just soiled bedding. That's it. Although it was gross, that's part of being in the hospitality business. I would have gladly have carried them to the wash. No one was available. The only positive thing I can say is the room was clean and the owner was pleasant when I checked...
