Ingleboro mansion was a wonderful place to stay. The owner, Jean, is very warm and friendly and did a wonderful job putting us at ease. My husband and I had the privilege of staying several days and it felt like a haven.
There was a hospitality room where breakfast was eaten. It was always stocked with tea, coffee, and snacks. We went several times a day.
The house has a grand white porch stocked with all sorts of seating. It even had bug spray available. (we didn't need any).We spent a couple evenings just spending time out there watching the (limited) traffic go by.
Parking was easy and the house was easy to find.
Our room was charming. I hadn't been to a bed and breakfast before so I was nervous that there might be a shared bathroom with other guests. But those fears were unfounded.
Everything was very clean and comfortable. There were even snacks provided in our room.
The second floor contained an office room that any guest could use, it also had a sitting area with a very large chess board that my husband and I took turns at every time we walked by. To my relief, we had to leave before our game could end.
The first floor contained several rooms preserved into what they would have been like at the time the mansion was built. It was fun walking through them and imagining life back then.
We accidentally left a few items behind and Jean let us know, and we were able to retrieve them. We felt cared for.
I would recommend Ingleboro if you need a weekend getaway or just need a place to stay on your way through to elsewhere. If I ever come through the area again. I...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place to begin our family’s journey into our past. Tracing our family tree, we were led to the Ingleboro, once a hospital, where my father was born back in 1928. He actually stayed in the same room where he was born. Ingleboro is now furnished with antiques and feels like time has been turned back to the early 20th century. A beautiful home appointed so that one feels like you are walking into the past with all the modern comforts, and immaculacy clean. We travelled as 2 sons and father and each had our own room. We were lucky to have the entire house to ourselves. We spent a few hours just wandering from room to room taking in all the details and history that the house and hostess offers guests. Relaxing in the rooms, we all wished we could go back in time.||Everything we needed was at our finger tips. Hot showers after a full day exploring our roots, and to start the day, the dining area with coffee, tea, toast and muffins; fresh fruit and cereal. Everything we needed to start the day. Jean was a perfect hostess providing us with information, and always there to see we were comfortable and all our needs were met. We were right at home at the Ingleboro. If I had to say I had a favorite of the stay, it was my brother and I sitting on the front porch in the evening with my father talking about his growing up and the adventures he had in Smith Center. ||Thank you Jean from...
Read moreThe Igleboro Mansion is an absolutely lovely Victorian home that is immaculate. Jean has decorated the Mansion in tasteful period style and blended it with every modern convenience you could ever need. The rooms are spacious, quiet and are well appointed right down to chocolates on your bed. One of my favorite things is sitting on the front porch, watching the birds and reading a book or enjoying some snacks. Everything is exceptionally clean and the location is quiet and convenient to walk to town or to a nearby beautiful park. The restaurant located in the home is very good with a nice variety of items on the menu. We especially enjoyed the fresh baked pies and cakes. I couldn't imagine a single thing that could have been better. I didn't want to leave - and would go right back on my next visit. I highly recommend Jean and the Ingleboro Mansion for your next visit to the area - and if you happen to be staying with family, I would certainly recommend driving to enjoy the restaurant and to tour the Mansion and read...
