This victorian Fallon hotel is quite beautiful. My boyfriend and I went right before Holloween to enjoy dinner there and hotel stay. I met the owner personally. This hotel is authentically haunted. As you walk in you can feel the energies swarming above yout head constantly where ever you walk around, pins and needles on your skin while in bathroom. Some rooms are very sad, dark, cold right when you enter. Room #4? Oh yes a hanging in there later found out way back when in western days plus upstairs used to be a brothel where women would service the men.|I think it was legal back then. Bar, saloon downstairs where travelers came and went.|When we stayed there.|I, Diane had several nightmares, 4 in fact that the town Sherrif and others in that time period cowboys were trying to trick us at the front door to gain entry and do bad things to me being female however, the madam at the brothel back thrn interviened protected me and told them to stop. She held up her pointer finger to tell them shame on you, no not today, not her get back when the Sherrig had me on a dark corner by myself in the dream, definately wanted to do bad things to me.|When the madam, older lady stepped in front of me to protect me and told them NO.|He, the town Sherriff cowered down and I woke up finally us having to leave the hotel after that experience plus someone downstairs was vacuuming in the middle of the night 3am but there wasn't, isn't any staff in that hotel at all. |We didn't go check to see who was down there because apparently we were the only guest checked in the entire hotel. At least we thought so. We stayed one night, ok half the night. Left at 3am due to more dangerous dreams one after the other and my boyfriend feeling pins, pokes while in the bathroon by himself several times.|You need to reserve and check in not there but City Hall due to it being haunted. If you want to eat fantastic food there in town, see people all over town dressed in gold rush garmets, attitre walking around the small town right before Halloween and you do not have a faint heart with paranormal activity in a gorgeous, victorian hotel, stay there. The rates are very reasonable. It will be a nice stay. You can only check in and get a master key of entering the hotel from City Hall. They do have a drop box to drop off the key if you leave in the middle of the night like Joseph and I did. Just a keynote for you, keep all your keys in your pants pockets, jacket at all times because many previous guests have claimed they wake up with their keys missing. Yes spirits can remove objects and walk through walls. Orbs do float (balls of light) in the air inside the hotel and also can be heard walking on hardwood floors even if there is a carpeted area. Because originally there may not have been carpet in the lobby since it used to be a saloon, bar originally in western days, just hardwood. Enjoy your stay. |Oh and check out the rooms before you officially check in so you get a feel inside the room where you would like to stay for the night. Some rooms are very cold, feel eerie when you walk in. Many people have died in and around that hotel before back in the 1800s.|There is no hotel staff that stays there at all and I mean all day and night but you can ask someone at City Hall to accompany you and your guests to go there to tour inside and choose a room before check in. Enjoy your stay. Paranormal teams have video on Youtube with images. A little boy spirit is still there and can be heard crying at times the City Hall staff said. The hotel had burned down mysteriously 3 times only to be rebuilt...
Read moreJust bear in mind it's in the Columbia State Historic Park...Google maps instructed us to turn left onto the street...a slight problem, there is a sign designating the street as only for horsedrawn carriage. The next question, where do we park? So we drove around and decided to park in the lot across a busy highway. Going up to the front door, the door was locked...Then we noticed a note on the door, instructing us to go to the City Hotel, so we went in search of the City Hotel. We finally founda ranger locking up and asked. In a very friendly manner, she chatted with us, then directed us to the City Hotel. At the front desk, my dh mentioned he had a reservation and the young man at the desk recognized that he had a reservation. When we inquired about a nearby place to eat, he recommended the City Hotel restaurant. After we arranged for dinner, he walked us to our hotel and room. This should give a feel for the experience...||||Accomodations: Quaint and captures the feel of life in the Victorian era, except with an in-room toilet. The beds are single, which may be a bit small for those used to queen or king beds. The sink is in the room, and the shower is a communal one, across the hall. The hotel provided very nice robes, but no disposable slippers. Quiet accomodations--our room was closest to the busy highway but we did not have any issues sleeping. There is no heat in the room--the AC can only be turned off (or prevented from kicking in), we discovered when we checked the temperature in the room (62F)||||Housekeeping: the communal areas (hall, showers) are maintained daily, but in the 2 days we were there, no one came into our room to remove the wet towels. There were ample towels and toiletries for the duration of our stay||||Communication: free open Park wifi, but did not have phone service with carrier (AT&T), so the wifi did not allow me to receive or make calls, text or use email. Columbia and Sonora had limited carrier service for my carrier; the opposite was true for my dh who used a different cell service carrier--he did not have any service in Angels Camp. The lack of communications was highly inconvenient for me, so the room got 3-star rather than 4-star.||||Unexpected "guests": mosquitoes, stray aunt, and baby mouse found in upstairs room||||Overall, not a typical hotel--more like a Victorian...
Read moreThe room was very comfortable and the ambiance of the old hotel fantastic. We think this place should be on a ghost show however because it's definitely haunted! If you want to visit a genuine haunted house stay here! Before this, I didn't believe in haunted houses but this place made a believer out of me!||We stayed in room #1 and on the second night Something woke me up around 3am. I'm not sure why I woke up but I was aware of someone standing next to me. I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or something but I suddenly became fully awake. I tried to turn my head but I could only move my eyes. It was very weird. I felt paralyzed. I looked to my left and could see a large man standing over me, Except I could see the wall behind him, right through him. My heart was pounding through my chest and I know I was sweating. This lasted for several minutes and then suddenly the man was gone. My wife grabbed my hand and said did you see that? She had seen the same thing that I had seen and was paralyzed as well. We were both unable to sleep for the rest of the night so we got up, sat in the chairs with our flashlight and waited for the spectre to return. It never did but we were scared half out of our wits. We checked out that day but we have often wondered since, what would've happened if we stayed a...
