Spent 5 months there last year,, our daughter was in college, and when she moved in with her roommate she found her roommate was allergic to her dog max, Max was 8 years old and declining fast,we took him in and after 3 weeks the Mgr knocked on our door and said there was a 35 pound limit on dogs,, seemed strange cause we had seen many large dogs there, and honestly didn't know there even was a weight limit, I explained to her that he was an inside dog and had trouble getting around, we had just taken him in and he was scheduled to go to vet, she said he has to go, even after meeting Max and seeing he was no threat, long story short we had to put Max down cause of his health problems, the very next day another camper walked by our site with a 2 year old much larger version of Max,, when I approached her with that, she said it was because I didn't tell her we had a dog,, I later found out that this manager has favorites, that are allowed to walk their dog unleashed, drink at the pool and break the rules as they please, as you know we are very short on under 55 RV parks for the winter in Central Fl, so we came back this year, supposed to be here till Dec 1st, we were only trailor that stayed during hurricane, upon returning the park was a mess, my wife and daughter chipped in to help clean up park, although the manager was quite absent during the clean up. I am a Painter and reached out to let the Mgr know that the condos I was working on at Siesta key had informed me that there would be a delay in getting paid due to the HOA president not coming g back from Georgia for an additional week due to hurricane, I went in to pay and she told me that she had emailed me and that we were being evicted, I hadn't received email due to wi fi and cell being down, I told her I had the money, she said "not my probelm", later that day I received a call from her management company, very nice lady named Mandy. Mandy let me tell my side, said she could see I felt blindsided and thanked me for my wife and daughter helping clean up as she was there that day,, she informed me that we could stay as long as I apologized for losing my temper, I went to office apologized and paid in full for October,, my wife and I spent the last 4 days looking for another site from Palmetto to Sarasota, all 55 +, and no luck, I returned home and called Mandy and asked her if she would please reconsider,, apparently she contacted the manager, who left us a message that she had already rented out our spot, and she feels its best that we leave, we never had a complaint, always friendly with our neighbors, when same Mgr found us a spot last year in another park, I gave her $1000 for helping us out,, and I believe she is put out cause my wife didn't want to work for her cleaning on the side, and we haven't purchased anything from her affiliation with a set toy company, which she sells while working,, Buttonwood is a beautiful park located in Cortez, very nice people stay there,,and mgmt company is on point, all except who is at the helm, very sad situation, unfortunately we are not the only ones that have had run in with her, a nice couple from New Jersey last year told us she was a bully, well they were right,, last thing when she leaves on weekend, and the weekenders come in, they can do whatever the hell they want, and cause she isn't there, it just doesn't matter, just a dad situation, I asked for the owners name, and contact info,, she wouldn't give it to me, I thought he or she would want to know that the Mgr is not professional and is hurting the park,,,unfortunately she is good at what she does,,, and he or she will not know, but I will be happy to spread the...
Read moreWe have been coming to Buttonwood for several years now and the improvements that have been made to date are terrific. Those of us that have been coming to Buttonwood appreciate all the improvements. Unlike the two negative comments from those two people whose name we will not mention, we can say NOTHING BAD regarding the "on site" manager and HIS WIFE. If these two individuals were regular visitors to Buttonwood and abided by the rules of the Campground (which by the way all Campgrounds have) there would not be a need for anyone to advise you that your vehicles are parked illegally and that the Manager and His Wife (who by the way ARE HUSBAND AND WIFE and if you verified your facts would know that) do not take a Nazi stance with anyone and in speaking with other guests never have. They are always pleasant, informative and helpful. Maybe these"cry baby" individuals need to stay up in North Florida where they are clearly from since all of the "problematic" people seem to be from Lakeland, Polk City area and are pretty much, rude, crude and obnoxious as well alcoholics. So if you find Buttonwood so distasteful, LEAVE OR DON'T COME BACK! Those of us that return season after season have no complaints with Management, just people like you. Buttonwood is a small, clean, Family campground but like all RV Parks needs to have it's guests follow the rules for everyone's safety and enjoyment. It is beyond my comprehension why some of these people feel the need to bring their golf carts so their Children can race around and around the park annoying everyone and putting not only themselves but the other guests in possible danger. While I am on my own personal soapbox, I would also like to address your loud, vulgar, annoying music. If you want to listen to this music, play it inside your RV not outside for everyone else's ears. Your choice is not necessarily ours so if you don't like being told about that, especially after "quiet time" then don't come. To my way of thinking if I don't like the rules somewhere I don't go there. Simple answer to everyone's concerns. LEAVE. We have traveled all over the United States and have never run into RV ers such as those complaining the loudest! We love Buttonwood and recommend it to everyone we can. We hope that the on site Manager and His Wife continue to help make Buttonwood RV Inlet Resort the kind of RV Resort it is meant to be. ...
Read moreWe visited Buttonwood from 6-9 October 2016 while we fled the East Coast of Florida upon the approach of Hurricane Matthew. The reservation process was difficult, and on the short notice we had to travel, we wanted to make it by telephone rather than on line. Nobody ever answers the telephone here. The park also has no free cable. The water pressure seemed very weak. There are some other things this park lacks:
It lacks loud noise at night. Even though it is on a main highway, the noise level is attenuated by a row of trees and thick bushes. There are no loud trucks, cars, motorcycles, stereos, teenagers, partiers, or children to disturb you at night like you find in other parks.
The park is unable to provide cramped, small campsites. Many other parks have the sites small and close together to maximize profit. Buttonwood sites are large enough to put a big rig, a toad, a car, and still have room for a family picnic. These are just about the largest campsites I have ever seen.
This park probably has no fire ants. I could not locate any. They may be somewhere, but I did not find them.
They clearly lack a lazy, uncaring staff. The office help came out to direct me into the site, and help site the rig, unhitched and put up the toad, and make sure I was ready to hook up the umbilicals.
They do not have the customary weak and too-slow wi-fi. I was close to the office, so they might have this out in some more distant lots. Your mileage may vary.
If you are looking for a miserable time, a vacation that you can bore your friends with complaints about for the rest of the year, do not stay at this RV Resort. This resort is close to Anna Maria Island, a Wal Mart, a Publix supermarket, and restaurant and tourist activity. Helpful Hint: Visit the Sea Hagg Nautical Antique shop next door, but bring lots of money. Cool stuff,...
