The Fox Mercantile — Restaurant in Florida

I follow Ashley on social media and watched as she transformed this property into The Fox Mercantile. When I saw it was a 40 minute drive from where I was staying on vacation, I knew I needed to make the drive to check it out in person. I went first thing in the morning (specifically to try their waffle, which is the most delicious waffle I have EVER had, by far!), and immediately after stepping on the property a wave of peace just washed over me. Everything is so serene, and no detail has been overlooked. I spent a long time looking around the store and outside area and constantly found myself noticing new artistic details like hidden gems. The thought, work, and love that went into the mercantile is evident everywhere you look. The selection of merchandise is thoughtfully selected, the food and coffee is fantastic (I had a mocha with oatmilk), and the outdoor seating is elegant and set up in a way that you can sit by yourself or at the community table to engage with fellow patrons. Ashley and her family have a heart for the community, and that is clearly evident through this property. I also had a chance to speak with Ashley directly as I was leaving, and she is the sweetist human! The mercantile is absolutely beautiful and will be a place I frequent whenever I am in town. EDIT: Fox Mercantile reached out and helped make this right. I get that things happen that are out of our control, but just know that a simple update is always appreciated on the customers end:) Hopefully one day I can visit in person!

I live out of state and have been following The Fox Mercantile for a while. I've purchased several items from their shop, and while I've enjoyed most of my purchases, I did have one item that I needed to return. Lily helped set up the return process, and I promptly sent it back. However, after my return was delivered a week and a half ago, I didn't receive any updates unless I checked in myself. Last Thursday, I was told 'your return will be processed soon,' which seemed promising. However, after checking in again this Wednesday, Lily informed me that she's out of town and the return is still at their P.O. Box awaiting pickup. It would have been helpful to receive this update last week.

I understand my return is only for $54 in store credit, but I work hard for my money. I'm disappointed by the inconsistent customer service, especially since my most recent order, placed just yesterday, has already shipped while my return is still unresolved. WOW! What a beautiful relaxing tropical (without the tacky) atmosphere! Everything is upscale and tastefully decorated with no detail overlooked. A welcome addition to the area where "beach themes" are overdone. A great place to have a good cup of coffee. The food menu is limited with only a waffle to choose from (it is delicious). They do add the choice of a burrito on Saturday mornings. No pets allowed. This would also be a great venue for larger parties for a luncheon, shower...and a wonderful place for an acoustic open mic or any evening gathering space. Because I wish for The Fox Mercantile's success, I would like to see better coordination between the ready times of the coffee prep and the waffle. Waffle was served quite a bit before the coffee was ready. I'd also like to see just a couple of more food items. In keeping with the pleasant, minimalistic atmosphere FM created, perhaps a few gourmet items in countertop glass domes e.g. there's an amazing pie company walking distance that can deliver small bites or Decadent Delights a small gourmet cookie company located close by.
