I received an invitation to a wedding in the South Valley. Being a former resident of the valley, I was excited and checked it out online. It all looked beautiful. We even thought about spending our anniversary there. We arrived, and the front of the entry onto the property was nothing like the photo online. The above ground pool was thrown over, and as you got to the doorway, there were old car batteries and just junk thrown out in the open. The staff was not welcoming to guests. The only way I knew who the employees were was to look for the rude people on property. A woman told myself and my daughter to leave the building immediately after we came out of the restroom. I was asked to bring things for the wedding and use of refrigerators, and the kitchen was allowed for the event. The owner essentially yelled about the kids being in existence and that I brought food for the event. I later heard the owner in the kitchen, screaming over the phone to someone about us having brought things. I was at the entrance of the house, mind you so very uncomfortable for guests and unprofessional. Red horse employees were paid to set up and tear down the event space, none of which they did the wedding party did it all. My husband was a guest was made to retrieve ladders and tables. And as if that's not enough, they wanted him to fix a pole on their property, My husband had to that point.Been very accommodating to people who had been to this point very rude to all of us so he refused and asked the woman. Why do I have to fix this? The woman then was upset and annoyed with him. And said never mind. I'll have my father fix it. Later. We're asked to do the job red horse signs up for the staff just seemed to have a reason to complain and literally break down in tears in front of guests for no obvious reasons to me and i was there for rehearsal and the staff was rude even then. They made my kids uncomfortable and threatened the bride and groom in the middle of their reception, that they were going to shut down her party. So no, I will never recommend this place. It's sad to say that I was excited to be back in the South Valley. They made it the worst family event. Our family has ever had good luck to anyone who books here. Maybe maybe if you're just gonna put up with them for one night, you'll be fine. Any longer than that, the staff can...
Read moreMy Love and I stopped by The Red Horse Vineyard Bed and Breakfast during a trip celebrating our One Year Anniversary recently, actually spending the night there ON our anniversary. We chose the English Rose Room based on the description and pictures we saw online, and they definitely didn't disappoint. Darlene checked me in while My Love parked and got the bags. She made sure to introduce me to everyone we came across as she gave me the tour of her home, including the Billiard Room, which has a bar where you can find additional soft drinks should you need them, the lounge area, gift shop, dining room (where there were some yummy chocolate chip cookies!), and kitchen. Our room was well appointed, with a super comfortable bed. The interior door had a numberpad lock, and the exterior door had a key, if you were to decide to take advantage of the hot tub, (due to thunderstorms that evening, we weren't able to partake). There was a chiffarobe with two robes available, though they appeared smaller in sizes. Not a problem, but worth mentioning for anyone wondering. There was also a mini fridge in the room with some drinks available, with no extra fees, which is always appreciated. There was a roll in shower, as well as a shower seat for those who might need them, and shampoo, et al, were in dispensers on the wall of the shower. They also provided a lovely goat milk lotion, which I really wish had been travel sized so we could have taken it with us! When we returned from getting dinner locally, they had turned on their wedding lights, and the whole place was SO pretty! For breakfast, you can choose to eat on your private patio if you're downstairs, the front porch, or with others at the dining table. We decided to sit inside with the others, and Darlene and her family did a terrific job of setting us up so as not to be too crowded, with one from each couple on each end, their partner each toward the wall with a chair between the two, and a solo visitor on the window side. We arrived first and there was already zucchini bread on the table made using her daughter's winning recipe from 4H, followed by an egg frittata with spinach and Rotel, a slice of ham, and baked apples with walnuts. I really wish we had planned to spend more than just the one night so would have had more time to just sit back and relax! Thank you all for your hospitality! Hope to see...
Read moreThis location is so beautiful. It has the potential to be a wonderful wedding venue, but unfortunately, the owners are incredibly in hospitable. We did all the wedding set up out selfs And we cleaned up and picked up all our trash left nothing behind, but they still continued to give us a hard time the entire weekend and they Were consistently watching over us. It was very uncomfortable. We didn’t have any hard liquor. We only had beer and hard cider. No one got incredibly drunk, but one of the guest was smoking an e-cigarette at the edge of the property, and they threatened to shut the event down when they could have just come up and told them that that’s not allowed , then one of the owners smelled weed while we were outside and threatened to shut it down again, it could have came from anywhere because it’s in between two major streets in the south valley Barcelona and Blake not to mention it’s surrounded by a residential neighborhood no one there was actively smoking. On top of that we are illegal state so if somebody was smoking weed on the side of the road outside of the property that was in their right and with how they were keeping an eye over us, I’m pretty sure they would have known if someone was smoking. The owners daughter went around on the golf cart, recording us, like she was trying to catch us doing something wrong. This was a family event. It was a wedding. There was 20+ kids there. None of us should have been treated the way we were. It was incredibly disappointing. It was to the point where we decided not to stay the second night packed up the wedding and left. And well, we were getting ready in the bridal suite. The owner still felt the need to come and check on us periodically which is incredibly rude and invasive if you rent a room at a bed-and-breakfast, you expect some level of privacy in your own rooms. And the continental breakfast is very mediocre. We got eggs, ham, a little bit of fruit and some pastries. it’s a bed-and-breakfast it’s in the name. Is it too much to expect a full big breakfast, the apple juice and orange juice that was put out was from gallon jugs that had previously been opened as well not very sanitary and the coffee was disgusting. The owner felt the need to stand in the kitchen and watch us as we ate as well, which is super uncomfortable because the kitchen overlooks the...
