Every time you opened the door, you were greeted by an unfestive blast of ceiling paint chip confetti raining down upon you, as the paint in the room was flaking off the ceiling heavily. The room smelled of mildew and smoke. Anything metal in the room was covered in rust. The floors looked âgreasyâ and there was a clear set of bare footprints in the greasy haze walking into the bathroom when we first entered?? There was food residue throughout the microwave. The refrigerator had the last occupants leftover food in it. The cabinet the fridge sat on had heavy water damage and the small space between the sides and base of cabinet and fridge looked to be covered in mold or mildew. All appliances, fixtures, furniture had a thick layer of dust and greasy handprints everywhere. On the floor, a 1â radius around the perimeter of the room and the furniture there was a thick layer of dust, dirt, crumbs, dead bugs. The door looked like it had been kicked in half a dozen times. The window latch was broken. The screen for the window was cut and the frame was bent, like someone previously broke in. The ventilation in the bathroom did not function. The light fixture in the bathroom was shattered and exposed and just an inch or so away from where youâd slide your hand to open the curtain. The in-room phone rang 15 different times just while we were in the room. Whenever we did pick up no one was on the line. The phone would not let us call front desk from it. My door keycard was randomly disabled, locking me out of the room. (I will note that they reprogrammed it for me promptly when I went up to the desk) And to wrap things up with probably my biggest issue, they permitted someone with a full size semi truck and refrigerated trailer to (barely) squeeze in the back of the lot, about 15â from the building, taking up about a dozen parking spaces. The big issue here being the refrigerated trailer. Every 2.5 hours, the very loud diesel engine would kick on to supply power to the cooling system to maintain temperature. Every 2.5 hours it would run for 10-15 minutes. It was extremely loud, and would rattle the windows and the noise went right through the room. All day. All night. The entire stay. Between the lack of properly secured windows/door, the dead bugs everywhere, the phone constantly ringing and the diesel motor echoing through the place it was quite difficult to do much of any resting.
This was all brought to the hotels attention. (With a detailed list of issues and clear photos of everything provided.) Was told that the complaints had to be forwarded to a higher up for resolution. After reaching out for almost two weeks, they finally responded. We were told the condition of the room was âacceptableâ and refused to do anything. No refund, no partial refund, not a credit, not even an apology.
So here ya are folks, this is what Wyndham/Days Inn in Harrisburg considers to be âacceptableâ condition for their rooms.
I will say, of all the neglect and filth and issues, st least the bedding seemed clean and was comfortable. Unfortunately with everything else going on there, though, we werenât really able to get comfortable or much rest...
Read moreTerrible! Our room reeked of cigarette smoke and weed the entire (over 2-month!) stay that we were there! Staff and management absolutely SUCKS. We called this hotel and spoke to a manager, explaining that we needed a extended stay suite because we could no longer spare the time, (about an hour and a half total, one way) cost or the little bit of energy we had after working 12+ hours on a remodeling job (literally falling asleep at the wheel!!) However; we also explained that money was a tough situation with the job and then straight-up told them we would NOT always be able to pay our bill on time, as we would only be able to pay it when we received a payment from our client (roughly once a week-once every two weeks.) The manager told us that it is fine and so we stayed there for just over two months while working to comeplete the job. We paid CASH-roughly over $2,500 to the hotel in this time. All was fine and dandy, until we stopped making lump sum payments for a weekly rate to the money-hungry pigs and paid day-by-day (money was extremely tight, so we would fall behind a day or two.) We had another contractor (friend, well used to be) stay at the hotel while he was working for us. We agreed to pay for his room as long as he worked for us, but he took off and left us with a $350 hotel bill and a TRASHED room. Because the jackwagons that run theplace failed to take any information from the 2 adults and 4 kids that were staying in the room, and we cannot get ahold of them, we somehow became responsible to pay someone else's hotel bill and room clean up charges!!!! So we were behind TWO DAYS on our room bill, stuck with a bill not even ours, and even though we paid this hotel a crazy amount of cash consistently already, they literally EVICTED US AT 1:30 AM, WITHOUT WARNING AND LOCKED OUR THINGS INCLUDING OUR TWO DOGS, INSIDE OUR ROOM AND TOLD US THEY WERE SEIZING OUR BELONGINGS UNLESS WE PAID NO LESS THAN $300!!!!!!!!! Well, we Called the police and had them come. It came down to we had to pay $125 that we desperately needed to live for the next few days, to get into our hotel room and grab our things and get the f* out of that place! We were left with $60. You can't even get a room for a night for that amount of money here. So, with our two dogs, we were forced to sleep in our vehicle and scrape by with basically little money for food until we received another payment for the job. And yes, the money hungry pigs at the hotel knew this and did not give a f* as they gave us one hour to get our things together and vacate the hotel- it was 3:15 AM when we left the hotel. I will never stay at a Wyndham hotel/motel...
Read more05/25/22 - Front Desk associate was just unwelcoming. I felt we were inconveniencing him by coming. We were checked into a room which smelled horribly like a wet cat - no way housekeeping didn't smell this: 1st concern!! I unpacked as my friend checked the room after turning on all the lights - room lighting was still dim at best: 2nd concern. As we looked around the room it looked like it should be in Out Of Order status - mounting brackets on walls but nothing hanging, plaster chipped everywhere, lots of holes where something used to be mounted, dusty ceiling, the room looked emptyish like things were missing but couldn't figure out what; few amenities: no phone, no clock, no paper/plastic cups, and the list goes on - 3rd concern. So, as we stood and discussed which one was going to go and complain, we realized we were not alone - Roaches!! So as I repacked, we obviously decided to go to the Front Desk. The front desk guy, he was obviously NOT happy to be working in a hotel. Unfriendly and lackluster as he could be. When I say Zero apology for the inconvenience and issues; it was Zero!! I think he was annoyed we came back. He could care less. We had other issues but what's the point. If we weren't as tired as we were, we would have left! The new room, while still not clean - surfaces and floors visibly dirty and stained; it was sadly a bit better. But the new room really helped us CLEARLY see how bad the other room was! Icing on the cake: 9AM when I went to shower - NO HOT WATER!! Called down and got "Oh yeah, its been about an hour or so already. They're working on it." No apology, nothing but an "Oh Yeah". Why pay for disrespect and apathy when it's clear the staff don't want to be bothered with providing even marginal customer service? And forget hospitality!! It was disappointing and I'm over hearing: "We're sorry your experience wasn't up to par." Really. Show me! Avoid this hotel or prepare to take some critters...
