Friendly staff. However, booked the hotel suite based on amenity of āPersonal artisan pantries are well stocked with premium liquors, locally crafted beers, still and sparkling water, coffee and espresso.ā This seemed like a unique feature that tied the culinary theme into the hotel locality and I was very excited. I checked into the hotel with my kids and was told the suites were across the street. They greeted me with a glass of wine and helped me get across the street and up to my room. After we were in the room, I looked high and low for āthe pantry.ā My daughter wanted pasta so we skipped room service and had Osteria Natalina delivered. I had a beer delivered with my food. Still having not found āthe pantryā I was unable to locate a bottle opener near the coffee machine. A standard coffee machine with three coffees, three teas, ceramic and paper cups, sugars, and stirring sticks was all I found. I did also find a variety of glass drinkware. I finally gave up and called the front desk. I was informed that the building was new and they didnāt have their liquor license. Welpā¦.They apologized and asked if there was something they could bring me. I said any fun local stout. I was then informed all they had were whiskeys, bourbon, vodka. I just told them Iād take a bottle opener. No mini bar. No snacks. Was very happy that I had stopped by Target and gotten some goldfish for my kids on the way into town. I was told they were bringing a bottle opener up. After waiting sometime, I pried the lid off myself. I tried to call down three times to get silverware and no one answered. I loaded up my baby and other child into a stroller and went downstairs. Our food was getting cold and we needed silverware. I got to the front desk and the gentleman told me he saw that I was calling but was on the other line and apologized. He said heād send up silverware as well as an engineer to fix the Chromecast on the TV that was malfunctioning. He said that was pretty common. Went upstairs and thought weād look out the terrace on the way to our roomā¦. Our keys didnāt work. Got back to the room. Silverware eventually arrived. I ended up putting do not disturb on around 10:30 because I had already skipped my shower afraid the engineer would show up and my daughter was way overdue for bed. I did try to go down and purchase one of the bottles of wine from the front desk in the bottom of the building they had me in. They informed me that they couldnāt sell me any wine even though they had it stocked right there⦠I eventually picked up a $30 bottle of rosĆ© from the front desk of the main buildingā¦it was pretty mediocre. Perhaps because of all the hype the hotel puts forth and their theme that stands upon curated and elevated dining and drinks I expected more. Iāve never had to work so hard to get simple amenities at a hotel in my life.
Room was set to 73 when we arrived. I turned it down to 67 and, at midnight, itās finally cooling off. Thereās also exposed screws and subfloor exposed throughout the bathroom. Pretty surprised at the lack of craftsmanship and amenities for $1,032 room for two nights w/ a promo. Staff is very friendly. However, they seem completely unable to proactively solve any shortcomings within the hotel. This is definitely part of a larger issue. As far as the pool area, itās set right next to the tollway. I tried to capture it on video but itās so loud that itās impossible to relax. The pool is also SO HOT that I couldnāt stay in our keep my kids out. It was at least 89+ degrees. Had I not just driven across the state for a relaxing couple of days with my girls, I wouldnāt have stayed. It was very obnoxious having to cross a busy street every time we wanted to leave the building we were in and go to where the valet was or the main building. Itās even more dangerous and frustrating because Iām handicapped and wasnāt allowed to park in the lot next to my hotel buildingās entrance with the handicapped spot because this lot belonged to the steakhouse next door. Ramps were also blocked by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe could not have picked a better wedding venue to host our family and closest friends for our wedding weekend. From the very beginning the team at Epicurean welcomed us with open arms and gave us an incredible tour. They answered all questions we had in a professional and timely manner.
The Epicurean team went above and beyond to help any of our wedding guests if they were having issues with booking their rooms online. They ensured they got the room block discount, as well as made any adjustments if our guests needed to change their booking in any way. We also requested that welcome gifts be sent to each room. They were delivered successfully, without a hitch.
When we went to our wedding tasting, we were blown away with the service and attention to detail regarding the food at our wedding. They listened to everything we had to say about what we tried, and tweaked the menu in the smallest ways to make sure what we served on our wedding day would be perfect. Not to mention, the tasting was an absolute blast! We told Epicurean the most important detail to us was to make sure the food at our wedding was the best wedding food our guests could ever had. They absolutely succeeded because weāre still hearing from our guests how amazing all the food was.
We had our welcome party in the Epicurean theatre, our cocktail hour on the pool deck, and our reception on the terrace. Each of these venues were stunning and they came out wonderfully in our photos. We especially loved the Epicurean theatre, because it is such a unique venue that provides a lovely social gathering space for all things food.
We had a couple unique ideas for our wedding, and Epicurean was beyond accommodating with our wishes. My husband and I wanted to have a private dinner separate from our wedding guests. Other wedding venues questioned why we wanted to do it and hesitated to even consider doing it for us. When we asked Epicurean, they didnāt hesitate and said they could absolutely accommodate this request. On wedding day, they went out of their way to set up the private dinner in our suite with candles, flower petals, photos, and more. We each received our favorite cocktails, all of the cocktail hour hors dāoeuvres, dinner appetizer, salad, and both dinner entrees.
On our first date, we got pancakes, so we asked Epicurean if we could have a pancake bar at our welcome party. Again, without hesitation, they set up a full service pancake bar, with all the toppings, in the Epicurean theatre. My husbandās father passed away when he was young. Some of his core memories of his father are cooking and baking with him. During the wedding planning process, we found his hand written flan recipe. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake for our dessert, we wanted to have his flan served to our guests. We reached out to local bakeries and confectionaries to see if they would make his flan, but nobody would touch it since it was an heirloom recipe. We asked Epicurean if they would make it, and they took on the project once again without hesitation. Both the flan and the pancakes were absolutely delicious!
The service provided from Epicurean to us and our guests through the entire process was unmatched, and they are truly the perfect example of what the word hospitality means. On wedding weekend, the Epicurean staff got to know us as the bride and groom, and were so kind to all of our guests who were there to celebrate with us. Our guests continuously boasted about how kind the service was over the weekend, from bartenders, front desk staff, housecleaning, you name it.
We canāt wait to go back to Epicurean to reminisce on our wedding day, and we canāt wait to see the expansion of the hotel to make it even better. We would recommend Epicurean to any couple getting married, and even more-so the staff and Epicurean team that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off I wanted to say we have stayed her a few times, and the place is lovely, staff has always been wonderful, but we traveled to the hotel Saturday June7th for a one night stay and checked out Sunday around noon time. I always place my jewelry in one of the water glasses and (necklace & earrings) and for the first time ever left the room without putting them on. We had a lovely breakfast and off to our 3pm flight back to Boston. The flight ended up being delayed for a few hours, and we arrived home late Sunday night. I was getting dressed to go to work and when I went to put on my earrings and necklace I felt a wave of panic that oh my gosh I left them in the water glass at the hotel. I called and spoke to a young women who told me she would check back with me shortly. I waited a bit and then placed another call, and this time spoke to a women named Maya. She was so understanding of my worry and sick feeling, and said she would speak to the women that cleaned my room. Not ten minutes later and I get a call back from a women saying this is Maya and we did not find your jewelry. I thought it funny as it was minutes between the calls and her voice was not the same as the women I just spoke to, I did not say anything about just speaking to Maya, but asked for sure they checked the water glasses. She told me the cleaning staff clean the glasses and they did not see the Van Cleff necklace or the diamond earrings. I can't tell you how sick I still am over this. Within the hour I get a call back from Maya, Mrs C. I checked with the cleaning staff no one found anything. I proceeded to state again they were in the water glass. She said let me check as the glasses are cleaned in the kitchen, and I will check with them. So I'm not sure if they have two Maya's working for them. I was given a call back and once again nothing was found. She told me she would have her Supervisor Darren call me, which he did and said we have a periodical and I will let you know the outcome. The outcome was not good. I'm sick over this, and yes my fault for not putting them on, and devastated to the core of the loss of my pieces that had wonderful memories. I stated again, maybe they stacked the glasses on top of each other and not noticing. I keep praying to Saint Anthony. Also I'm 10000% I left them in that glass. My husband and I went to have breakfast, and said I was about to say something to you when they walked over with our amazing breakfast and was distracted. He said I was just about to say where is your necklace. We had at this point checked out...
