Let me tell you about my stay at hotel Alba. My wife and I booked this hotel for the entire week for our honeymoon. Before booking I looked into many of the different rooms and was sold almost immediately on the king room as they advertised many great perks such as hardwood flooring, luxurious bedding, etc. I worked with my booking agent to secure a room for the week and was able to get a king room with a city view on the top floor. Upon arrival, first thing we did when we got settled in is went into the bathroom. Toilet roll dispenser fell right off the wall. That was a little concerning as it took little to no effort to do so. Also after looking around, the floors they advertise as hardwood aren’t even wood at all, they are laminate floor tiles with a hardwood style finish. Not the same. The luxurious bedding they advertised, the sheets aren’t any different than the ones you would find at a motel 6. My wife and I went downstairs and notified the staff of only the toilet roll dispenser, nothing else which they said they would fix. Not the end of the world, but it’s the principal. We went out for the rest of the day to the beach, came back and spent time at the bar where we spent time talking to Brian who is a huge value and truly the only memorable part of the hotel stay. We stepped away for a little and went out front to the smoking area where we were with other patrons. Out of nowhere, Gino, front desk representative came outside and in front of an entire wedding party accused us of smoking weed in our hotel and threatened us with a $500 fine. We weren’t even our room at all during the day and we don’t smoke! He claimed we set off the alarm in our room, I asked him what room number? He quickly backtracked what he had said. While this was all happening a gentlemen came outside and told him that we didn’t do anything wrong and to let him handle it. He apologized and went on to then accuse another patron of doing the exact same thing! This customer thought we were making accusations on her behalf so she grew irate towards us until we informed her the exact same thing had happened to us. Safe to say the damage has been done.

I went down the next morning and asked to speak to a manager. Of course the only person available is a supervisor since the GM does not come around often. I spoke to Beatrice, the supervisor who listened to my concerns. She said she could change our room, comp is for parking and include breakfast in our stay. Okay sounds great. She said she would be moving us into what she referred to as a suite by the pool. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse! We find out that it’s the older portion of the hotel, with no views of the city or anything like I originally paid for. The floor was all marked up, couch was stained, chairs were ripping, bathroom had what looks like the start of mold forming due to the exhaust fan barely working and there was water coming up from the floorboards! Did I mention one of the dresser panels fell off and the roof was cracking?

The food isn’t great at all. Trying to get room service is like pulling teeth. Anytime I called the front desk; they never answered I always had to walk down. I presented each and every single one of my concerns to my booking agent who said they would contact the hotel on my behalf and request a refund due to all of the inconveniences. They denied it!

So Mark, since this is my only way of getting in contact with you, this is so you can see it for yourself. I would like to speak to you as soon as possible regarding this matter before I look into 3rd party sources to...

I recently stayed at Hotel Alba July 13-19, 2025. I have to say that my experience overall was great for the most part. This is a beautiful property, and the staff were very polite and friendly/accommodating. I honestly cannot say I had a bad experience with anyone who works at this hotel. The facilities are amazing (including a main restaurant, cafe and outdoor pool bar). Food and drink quality are solid. They even have some gaming options in the downstairs lobby area (foosball and shuffle board). There were a couple minor hiccups during my stay, but nothing that would deter me from coming back to stay again. I mean, I was there for an entire week...and things can happen on occasion. To me, that is to be expected, as nothing in life is perfect all the time. The staff handled any issues I encountered attentively and quickly, and they took care of me in the end. They do a great job at checking in with you to see how your stay is going, and also with updates and information at the hotel when necessary. As a 14-yr hospitality veteran myself (and customer service worker my entire career, most recently a Director of Guest Services at a luxury hotel property in Boston, MA) I pay close attention whenever I travel to other hotels, to see how they do things, how the staff performs, etc. I'm pretty easy going and relaxed with things overall anyway, but I know how difficult the industry can be at times. This crew is top notch overall in my opinion. ||I'd like to also shout out a few employees in particular. First off...Sam at the cafe bar Buffalo Bayou. This guy is the show at Hotel Alba, let me tell you. Personality plus, and I am not kidding when I say that EVERYONE knows Sam. There were more guests that walked by whenever I was sitting at that bar who just said hello to him as they were walking by, and many others that came just to have a drink and chat with him. Great guy, great employee. As for the Front Desk team, Michy was very kind and sweet. Great girl to have on your staff, she was always very pleasant and accommodating whenever I encountered her, whether in person or via the Hilton text messaging platform Kipsu. Makayla I had a couple interactions with also, and she was terrific as well. I had also moved rooms after three nights to another (At my request, there was nothing wrong with the first room, it was great. I just wanted to check out one of their top floor, corner rooms with a two-sided view my remaining three nights.), and that's when I interacted with Manny. He's a great employee as well, and helped me quickly when the power shades were not working in my new room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Tampa, FL. ||Thank you Hotel Alba team, and I do hope to visit you all again in the...

My first time visiting this hotel, when I saw it, I thought it was beautiful, however never judge anything until you open it, experience it, see it for yourself! My room was deplorable, the sheets had hair all over, one of the pillow case had black stains as if it could have been mold or hair dye🤷‍♀️. Idk, but black stains were there. The floor appeared to be freshly mop however there were partials on the floor and hair all along the top of the baseboards and floor. It was not vaccum. To add insult to injury; no one felt it was important to inform the new guests checking in, we do not have hot water at this time however we have someone working into it and we do not have a time frame for the water to be hot again. So I can decide if I would like to remain at your location! Not your hotel making that choice for the guests. I found out after stepping in the shower waiting for hot water after a long 12 hour day of work (no way). The house keeper supervisor GeGe was amazing, she delegated for someone to come to my room and change the sheets. However once I packed my belongings up and proceeded to depart from my room and check out. Two housekeepers standing in the hallway speaking negatively about me reporting the room. They were very rude and unprofessional! The nerve of you wanting to be paid to not perform your delegates! You are paid to do job! I reported the unprofessionalism to Alyssa and explained to her how flabbergasted I am and applauded that two of your employees are upset with me because they do not do there job. Alyssa offered me another room on floor 11 however it still would not have been beneficial for me, the hotel still has no hot water! So I expressed to her, I am leaving and will find another hotel for the night. I asked her to return my honor points to my account. I was told by her I can not return your points. You will have to call Hilton and again not a problem. Spoke with a lady on the phone and she listened to my complaint then stated I need to call the hotel Please do I replied, upon returning she stated the hotel is releasing your points..... Interesting.... so you stated to me you could not return my points but you tell the young lady calling you to verify the situation you will return my points absolutely unacceptable! No I am not waiting 7 days to receive my points due to when I cancel on my app my points are immediately returned back to my account. You are acting out of angry due to your upset I decided to leave the hotel, this isn't personal this is business! The accommodation you offered from your staff unprofessionalism and uncleaness should have been much better than what you stated! I am taken my business to an hotel who knows how to treat guests in an...
