One of the most problematic hotel stays I've experienced. The room was, at first glance, generally well kept. However, the moment we opened the bathroom door, we were assaulted by a foul stench of stress sweat and mildew. The bathroom vent fan doesn't turn on! We tried to open a window in the hotel room itself to let some of the moisture out, but it has a lock on the window preventing it from opening more than a couple inches. When we complained to the front desk about the issue, we were told EVERY room had inoperable bath vents. That's absurd! They even "made it up to us" by giving us a generic office desk fan to stick in there and run to clear the moisture out. As if the moisture has anywhere to go without any ventilation to the exterior. You mean to tell me every room in this hotel has been accumulating moisture with nowhere for it to go? Might explain why the floor boards felt uneven. In our room on the third floor it wasn't so bad, but I've read other recent reviews that the 2nd floor boards are very bad. The smell went away after our THIRD shower in our four day stay. Great. The moisture was a significant problem, though; every surface of the bathroom was covered in a fine layer of steam sweat when we were done; we had to leave our towels outside the bathroom and hang them to dry on clothing hangars meant for your jackets. Came back to the room after the day out, eight hours later, with the window left open the whole time, and the room still felt moist. Not just the bathroom, but the bedroom adjoined to it. Overall, it was liveable, but made me feel like I was wasting a ton of money staying there. Other issues included things like the washer and dryer on the first floor, for customers. Only a single unit, leaving only one of the 50+ guests able to wash at a time. Not to mention the dryer's vent hose was disconnected, so the laundry room got stuffed with hot linty clean air while we were waiting there to watch our belongings. (As there's no lock on the laundry room door) Many outdoor cushions in the garden area were flipped over to "the good side", with the bottom side being torn up with moist cloth dangling out. And to top it all off, I came home to a bed bug crawling around. I can't confirm with 100% certainty that this critter came from Hilton, but I wasn't at home for 5 days and hadn't seen any bed bugs in my house prior, so the signs point to Hilton. (Or the plane, but I doubt that.)
All that said, the staff were FRIENDLY, despite the fact they were friendly while telling me there was nothing to do about my problems, but still. I'll give them credit for that. My questions were answered courteously and when I lost my room key the situation was professionally handled.
Tldr this place feels like it's falling apart and might have bed bugs, but at least they got nice...
Read morePurchased this hotel as an emergency stay when my vehicle broke down in subzero temp weather, leaving my family of 5 stranded. This hotel had the most unfriendly staff from the front desk to management, that I have encountered ever staying at a hotel. They made every interaction feel like an imposition and could be likened to the stereotypical DMV staff mindset.
The room had bits of previous tenants trash on the floor, the coffee machine was caked with residues, and the bathtub had soap scum build up. I am a purple heart recipient with a service dog, which they chided my wife about while I was out in the cold working on my vehicle, and demanded she report to the front desk like a child to the principals office, only to tell her they had a card on file they could have charged without the spectacle. When I showed proof my dog was a service animal and attempted to get the $75 charge removed the staff acted rude and annoyed with me for asking and informed me there was no manager available to correct the charge.
When I took my elementary school aged kids to get food with my reservation included breakfast at 9:40, the kids were hurried through the buffet because the staff decided to close/clean everything up 20 mins earlier than the 10am time breakfast was listed as ending at. To add insult the staff then charged me $28 for their meals in spite of me showing proof it was supposed to be included, and required me to wait until a manager showed up at 3pm to get it removed from my bill.
I have traveled the world and stayed in a lot of hotels and say with confidence the staff here were the absolute rudest. I hope to never end up needing to stay here again because the best part...
Read moreThis could have been a wonderful stay. I'm a disabled veteran and I booked this suite based on the online pictures of the furnishings. Pics showed a couch with ottomans and an easy chair with an ottoman in the living room. Also showed a nice size bedroom with king bed and easy chair with ottoman. The ottomans are important to me as my ankles tend to swell and I need to put my feet up. Our living room had a love seat, single chair and no ottomans. Bedroom had no chair in it. I complained at the front desk and the only solution they offered was to change rooms. I had already unpacked and set up my medical equipment so this was not an acceptable option. No other solution was offered. The shower was a great roll in shower, but the bathroom had no exhaust vent and it was very steamy. There was a small grate in the ceiling (heat? vent?) that didn't seem to heat or vent. Every hotel I have been in had "the book" - notebook style thingie that had information on TV channels, available food, and other hotel and local information. No book. I complained at the front desk and he explained that I need to scan the QR code on the desk. I had assumed this would bring up Hilton advertising so hadn't bothered with it. It would have been nice to have something explaining what the QR code was for. The bedroom had what looked like kitchen cabinets with shelves; no drawers to put underwear, socks, etc in. Who puts underwear, socks, sweaters etc in a kitchen cabinet? As I stated, this could have been a wonderful stay if they would have at least furnished the suite like their pictures showed or even better decorate and furnish it like a real living room...
