We came to Torrington from NE SD after a 9 hour drive for a family emergency. A family member had recommended the motel, and stated that it was around 80.00 a night. We checked online and and seen a rate of 77.00. When we went to check in we were charged 180.00 for one night. The clerk said it was their "best rate" for a simple two queen bed room. I mentioned the price they advertised online and showed her. She stated that we had to book online for that price. She got crabby when we paid cash and huffed about needing a card for cash remark. We ended up needing a 2nd night so we booked online. We were still charged 130.00. On Monday morning we came down at 6:05 AM after showering with really rough towels. The doors to the lounge were looked and other guests were waiting to get in. They where out of yogurt, milk, and their juice machine didn't work. If u ever have to stay on a pinch like we did, make sure to call ahead for rates. The room was plain, and definitely not worth 180.00/ 130.00 a night. The beds creeked when we turned over or moved. Please fix the rates to match the advertised price.

I am baffled how this hotel managed to snag a 4.5-star rating. The room was spacious, but the air was thick with a strange blend of locker room, wet dog, and stale cigarette smoke. Showering was an adventure: the water left a slippery film that clung to my skin and turned the tub into a skating rink, making every exit a test of balance. Towels were plentiful, but so thin and tiny they could double as loin cloths, and drying off felt like a scrubbing with rough sandpaper. The bed, saggy and tired, creaked and groaned with every move, making sleep nearly impossible. As for entertainment, the room boasted two televisions but only one remote, so the screens mirrored each other in a bizarre synchronized dance.

Really nice hotel. Clean. Rooms had Seattle's Best coffee and Teavana teas along with fridge and microwave. The front desk area had small pizzas and chicken pot pies with appliances to cook them. Breakfast area and lobby with coffee and multiple syrup and tea selections. Breakfast didn't have the biscuits and gravy when we stayed, only the sausage crumbles and biscuits. Cheese omelets also available. Nice spread overall. We could have done without FOX "News" on the TV in the lounge. Although sign says you can feel free to change the channel, wouldn't want to start an argument as we didnt know if someone already present in the room turned it on.

Where do I start... I reserved a suite over a week ago, let's start there I guess. I got into town & the front desk gave me a key to a room that had two things wrong with it. First, it was a dirty room, second, it was just a double queen room not a suite. So I go tell the front desk & she tells me that they don't have any suites available.? So she then gives me another set of keys to another (still not the suite I reserved), we go to the room & that room is dirty also... So I go down stairs once again & let the front desk no that they once again have put my family in a dirty room... She was nice enough to go clean the room so thank you for that front desk. The room didn't have any wash cloths, the lids for the coffee cups were to big, the bed looked like it was remade after whoever stayed last, the pool water was pretty much salt & they had literally no breakfast. All in all I've stayed in nicer tents camping in the middle of nowhere. If I could give zero stars I would, worst stay in hotel I've ever had... Very disappointed & will not be staying...

The Cobblestone Hotel is literally our home away from home. Through a propane leak under our home there was an explosion and ensuing fire. We're staying here with our cat and are quite comfortable. There are 2 medium/large rooms. One with a comfy king size bed and big TV , place for hanging clothes and safe. In the other room is another large TV, couch, lounge chair, computer desk, with breakfast nook and stove and full size refrigerator/freezer, stove and microwave. Not to mention the nice size bathroom. There is a dining area open for hot breakfast, with a good array of breakfast items and coffees. The staff is friendly and happy to help you with any questions or needs you may have. It's not home but is the...
