King suite is spacious. Huge desk which is great. Lots of space. Shower pressure not the best. Bed is NOT like any other Hampton Inn I have been to (and I have been to MANY in the past few months) so I can testify that the beds at this location are NOT remotely similar to the soft plush Hampton bed I have experienced at the other locations - in other locations they have a selection of various types of pillows to satisfy different people (feather, firm, and a variety) NOT here, they are all firm and not feather at all. This location, the mattress is a very firm coil bed (no memory foam feeling like in other Hamptons) and as stated the 4 pillows are all the same, not soft but more bulky. Not what you will expect if you are looking for a standard Hampton Inn room. I think they need to update their beds quite frankly.
They also have ultra slow wifi - unless you pay $4.99 a day. You can see photos for the speed of the free one vs. paid.
Breakfast has a very good rotating selection. Warm breakfast changes daily which is good especially for those staying more than one night.
Those turning on the tv in the breakfast area - turn off the "news" channels - you will annoy most people who don't want to hear all the b.s. - put something neutral like the Weather Channel on your massive tv in the breakfast area.
Front desk staff NOT friendly or genuine, I am speaking of: Tiffany, Jennifer, Ruth (where do they get these people?) sorry but not only NOT friendly, but outright rude. I will spare the details here, but I never ever have had staff act this way, unacceptable.
The people who WERE nice at this establishment were: Phonecia in housekeeping, Amber the executive housekeeper, and the man who works breakfast.
So annoyed housekeeping staff rude af. Hispanic girl playing loud rap music (no headphones) so the entire hall had to listen to it - while she’s cleaning. I was in the middle of a virtual business meeting while all of this was happening. This same girl banged on my door (while I had a do NOT disturb sign on my door) screaming ‘Housekeeping’ I screamed back I am not checking out! She argued (as I opened the door) and said, well I have you on the list to be checking out - I said, that’s NOT the case I am checking out tomorrow. I additionally added that she is NOT to disturb a guest when they specifically have a DO NOT DISTURB sign on their door!! She said, ‘It don’t matter you are on the list so I am going to knock’ I reiterated that No you do not disturb guests. As I was closing the door, she said, ‘Ye Bi*ch.’ I had other incidents here seeing a man and woman down the hall screaming at the top of their lungs at each other - with poor toddlers who had to witness this and were crying hysterically, it was unnerving to say the least and staff was slow to respond.
The staff they hire at this hotel are I cannot say in this post because they will delete it - just connect the dots and you will figure it out - for this reason ALONE I would look elsewhere. I give one star for the staff and the way they treat guests. A two star for the room, and 3 star...
Read moreI AM NOT ONE TO WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW ABOUT A PLACE OF STAY, SO THIS WILL BE MY FIRST. THE SERVICE FROM THIS HOTEL INCLUDING THE GM OF THE HOTEL WAS HORRIFIC AT BEST. THERE WAS A MISTAKE WITH MY BOOKING AND IT WAS OFF BY A DAY. WHICH TO BE HONEST MIGHT OF BEEN MY MISTAKE. I DROPPED MY BAGS IN THE ROOM USING AND ELECTRONIC KEY AT 10 AM THE MORNING I THOUGHT I WAS CHECKING IN. I RECIEVED A CALL AT 11:00 TELLING ME I LEFT MY BAGS IN THE ROOM, IN WHICH I TOLD THEM THAT I JUST CHECKED IN. THE FRONT DESK TOLD ME THAT MY RESERVATION WERE THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS 7 HOURS FROM HOME AND ASKED IF THEY HAD ANOTHER ROOM. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE SOLD OUT AND THAT THEY WERE GOING TO REMOVE MY BAGS FROM THE ROOM. I TOLD THEM THAT I DIDN'T GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO DO THAT AND THAT I WOULD COME BACK TO THE HOTEL AND GET THEM MYSELF. I ALSO ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD ASSIST ME IN FINDING ANOTHER HOTEL, AT THAT POINT THEY TOLD MY I WAS ON MY OWN AND NEEDED TO FIND ANOTHER HOTEL ON MY OWN AND THAT THE ENTIRE CITY WAS SOLD OUT. SO, AS MY WIFE AND DAUGTHER WERE CRYING BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THAT WE HAD NO PLACE TO STAY, I GOT ON MY HILTON APP TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE. TO MY SURPRISE I FOUND ROOMS AVAILABLE AT THE SAME HOTEL, IN FACT I WAS ABLE TO SELECT THE SAME ROOM THAT I WAS ALREADY IN. THE UNFORTUNITE PART WAS THE ROOM WAS $300 MORE A NIGHT THEN WHEN I FIRST BOOKED THE ORIGINAL RESERVATION. I GOT TO THE HOTEL AND INFORMED THE FRONT DESK THAT I WAS ABLE TO BOOK THE SAME ROOM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WASN'T POSSIBLE AS THEY WERE SOLD OUT. I SHOWED THE APP CONFIRMATION AND THEY HAD TO LET ME STAY IN THE ROOM, EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE OVER BOOKED. I ALSO HEARD THE FRONT DESK TELL THE GM THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP THEIR ROOM. I'M NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF SHADY DEALS ARE GOING ON AT THIS HOTEL, BUT HOLDING ROOMS TO OVERCHARGE DESPERATE PEOPLE IS A DISCRACE TO THE HOTEL INDUSTRY. I CONTACTED THE HOTEL THE NEXT DAY TO SEE IF I COULD GET SOME KIND OF DISCOUNT ON THE $469.28/NIGHT ROOM, AND I WAS DENIED. I ASKED WHY AND I WAS TOLD THAT SHE COULD OF RENTED THAT ROOM TO SOMEONE ESLE FOR THE SAME PRICE. MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN YOU GO FROM WE HAVE NO ROOMS TO RENT TO COULD OF RENTED IT TO ANYONE IS BEYOND ME. I ASKED HER TO IMAGE IF SHE WAS IF MY PLACE AND ASKED WHAT SHE WOULD SHE WOULD OF WANTED. SHE SAID IT HAPPEN TO ME AND SHE WASN'T HELPED. SO I GUESS THAT BECAUSE SHE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE, SHE WOULD PASS IT FORWARD TO EVERYONE ELSE SHE TOUCHED. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HOTEL WITH A NO LEVEL OF COMPASSION THEN THIS ISN'T THE PLACE FOR YOU. LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE EVEN IF THE ENTIRE TOWN IS SOLD OUT. BTW - GM IS MICHELLE S. I WILL NEVER USE THIS CHAIN AGAIN EVEN IF IT IS THE LAST ROOM AVAILABLE. FORTUNITLY I AM ABLE TO ABSORB THE INCREASE IN ROOM RATE, BUT I FELL BAD FOR THE MEXT...
Read moreStayed for 1 night on a Sunday to Monday.
We were doing cross border shopping and needed a place to sleep for the overnight.
Check in was at 3:00pm, we arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm. We were informed upon arrival that the front desk wasn't sure which room was being assigned to us and asked to wait a moment. The moment ended up being 30 minutes. We quickly realized, multiple groups of guests were being asked to wait a moment..
The entire first floor smells of chlorine from the pool.
The front desk attendant seemed a little scattered. Really nice but scattered. The debit/credit machine wasn't working well for her and she had trouble confirming the security deposit had gone through. We originally used our Airmiles to pay for the room but please note there was a $100 security deposit hold required upon arrival. This was returned to us at the end of our trip. When she could see we were tired from our travels she also mentioned that she was on a 12 hour shift and tired.
We got our key card and headed up to the 4th floor. When the door opened, there was quite a bit of trash on the ground, but when you turned down the hallway to the rooms, there were bags in both directions of garbage outside of rooms, towels on the floor, in fact to get into our room we had to step over a hand towel that seemed to have fallen off a cleaning cart. We were surprised by this as it was 4pm by now and check out is 11am. However we assumed when we returned later that evening it would all be gone. However even by the next morning there were still garbage bags in the hall.
The room itself was clean and private. There was a bit of dust in some spaces, and there was very little toilet paper. When we came back to the hotel around 10:30 pm I asked the front desk attendant to send up some toilet paper and she asked me if I could take it up myself because it would save her a trip. She then ran into the back room, and grabbed a roll for me to carry up to our room. Not a big deal but lacked a little bit of service.
Overall, beds were comfortable, floor was clean and the room was quiet. The shower was nice aside from no water pressure and there was lots of counter space.
It's a completely fine safe clean place to crash for cross border shopping but I wouldn't spend more then a night...
