Before leaving Buffalo NY, I decided to grab a meal here to experience the notorious buffalo wings, for which the area is famous. Service was friendly and swift. Food was fresh and tasty. I noted for the server that I am a staunch fan of ranch dressing (and a hater of bleu cheese), so he brought me both dressings to try. Throughout the meal, I kept dipping my hot and juicy wings in what I thought was the ranch dressing — which turned out to be the bleu cheese! I was amazed by the tangy and creamy flavor that I’ve never tried elsewhere. If all wings and bleu cheese dressing could taste like theirs, the world would be a happier place, haha. I also asked for my buffalo sauce on the side, which they kindly accommodated. All in all, 100% recommend for the food and service.

Legendary names come with expectations. The Anchor Bar, as the originator of "Buffalo wings" should be a step up from average. We shared an Anchor salad and the Buffalo platter, basically wings and beef on weck. The wings were ok, done properly, just nothing special. The beef was dry (overcooked) and the weck roll was obnoxiously salty. I skipped the roll and just dipped the meat. Besides this, we discovered a quirk. We always have double margaritas when we travel, and ordered their Cadillac margarita. We were told it comes as a double, standard. Neither of us bought that argument, but we also couldn't order an enhancement shot because we couldn't have more than 2 drinks in front of us. Not happy. 3 stars is probably generous.

Decided to have breakfast here just because the Tim Horton's line was too long. I deeply regret my decision. I ordered a Bloody Mary and just got a bad Bloody Mary mix, I wasn't able to drink it. My husband ordered a coffee that was watered down, missing the coffee. They have a Buffalo chicken wing omelet (NOT RECOMMENDED) jammed packed with celery chunks which releases water, making it a very runny omelet. Also, watch out for the bones in it. My sausage omelet was bad as well. It was a powder egg mix with some weird-looking pieces of sausage and cheese. I included pictures of everything including my bill. Hope this helps everyone to make a better decision than the one I made.

I rarely write reviews but I’m hoping the owners of this establishment take note of the following:

We sat down and were ushered to another part of the restaurant as the servers rotate, that is okay as we know we sat down by ourselves, the lady was very sweet.

We then were asked for our drink orders, I had a beer and my girlfriend a spicy Bloody Mary. This is where it gets interesting…

The drink was an 8/10 on the spice scale (way above normal and my gf was tearing up with every sip). Consequently, I approached the bartender to ask for a new one to be made. I let him know and he rolled eyes right to my face, started speaking in a condescending tone and when i said it was making my girlfriend tear up with how spicy it was, he said ā€˜okaaaaaaay.’ He then asked if it was regular or vodka, I replied vodka. He then(in an extremely dickish manner), put his hand to his head and said ā€˜can you speak? Vodka or regular?’ Even though I had just answered him. I’ve never encountered such a rude, hostile and incompetent bartender/service worker. My gf who works in the industry was just appalled, as were the neighboring and most likely former patrons.

I would come to this place before every single one of my flights, but no more so long as this a-hole is working there.

If curious, he was working on...

This is probably the best place to eat at the airport, but it’s not as good as the original Anchor Bar and the original is often accused of being ā€œoverratedā€ by locals.

My wife and I arrived at the airport with an unexpected surplus of time to kill, so we tried this Anchor Bar location for the first time… Partly because we remember Marshawn Lynch saying in an interview that the best wings in Buffalo are at the airport. We figured he either hadn’t tried many wings anywhere else or was drunk enough at the airport that he would have loved ANY food he tried… BUT we decided to find out for ourselves, skeptical as we were.

Long story short: the airport Anchor Bar does NOT have the best wings in Buffalo lol

But they weren’t bad either! With the wings, we had a couple omelets (it was early). Everything was good. My wife ordered a veggie omelet and it came with bacon in it, which should inspire caution to vegetarian visitors, but we didn’t mind.

The service was friendly enough otherwise. We may not feel particularly inspired to come back every time we visit the airport, but it was a good...

Stopped here to grab dinner before our flight and wow, am I disgusted by the prices here first and foremost. They’re currently charging almost $20 for EIGHT chicken wings? I didn’t buy those, but I did suck up paying around $17 for a ā€œchicken finger hoagie.ā€ I don’t know if this is supposed to be a ā€œrealā€ Anchor Bar location, but what I was served was not food the City of Buffalo would be proud to claim. The sub was so small, had maybe two frozen chicken tenders, and to top it all off — I ordered it hot, it came with maybe a dribble of ā€œhot sauceā€ over each tender? Ordering ā€œhotā€ in Buffalo means shaken in a sauce…I’m from here, and I’m appalled if this is the only experience people get with our food. The prices are insane, the food is mediocre at best, and I’m frankly mad I’m spending money here. Just wanted a last taste of home before I leave. Service was good, but wow, steer clear of this place and go to Duffs in OP if you want a real taste of our town. Or Bar Bill. Or Doc Sullivan’s. Literally...
