I have spent a lot of nights in many hotels around the world, mostly on business. Hilton Garden Inns are fairly consistent in service and accommodations around the world and I'll give this one 4 stars overall. Upon arrival, noted the grounds were nicely landscaped and the location clean. They are doing some exterior upgrades and painting and some of the areas are appropriately marked off for the workers. Friendly and courteous staff, well stocked lobby store with snack, beer, wine, and frozen meals if you desire to use your in-room microwave. The restaurant was good but they do not staff for lunch. I ordered off the menu for breakfast and my pancakes and bacon were very good. The bar opens at 5PM and has a decent selection of drinks. The bartender appeared proficient in their work with the different orders and it was a pleasant place to end the evening before heading upstairs.
The room and bathroom are clean, standard, well maintained, and the water pressure good for a shower. Plenty of towels and items however, there is no scheduled room service but provide room service by request only which has become standard except in some 4 star and all 5 star hotels. The room has been upgraded with more electrical outlets and USB ports at all the right places so easy for charging electronics.
One of the reasons I selected the hotel is location close to the airport. It is right across the main highway 33 and easy driving. They also provide shuttle service to and from. While nearby, I could not hear any plane traffic which is not always the case in some airport hotels. My room was on the same side of the runways but the airport has a noise wall and the hotel windows are double paned so the room is quiet - super!
The hotel has meeting rooms available, two ballrooms, one executive board room, with nicely landscaped outdoor seating areas nearby. It has a nice exercise facility but I did not use it while here due to my schedule.
The hotel internet was out of service during my two day stay. I was informed of it when I checked in and there were signs around informing people that they were working on it. While my data plan took a hit, I managed and it didn't ruin...
Read moreThis hotel has a lot of potential, lots. Most of the staff was extremely friendly & helpful & our stay was very good, except for a few incidents on the very last day. For breakfast, the cook would even come out & talk to folks to make sure they enjoyed their food, that is an exception & it showed that he took a lot of pride in his workmanship. The waters & waitresses were very good. The night clerk that greeted us upon arrival was extremely helpful. Their location was very convenient for not only getting from the airport upon our arrival, extremely late at night, but also for a good launching point to get to our assignments. There was plenty of ample & complimentary parking. We were dismayed that their hot tub was down, just upon the day of our arrival & we were looking forward to enjoying that after a long day in the field, as hardly anyone has them any more & they are very relaxing & should just about still be a requirement for every good hotel, like they used to be. They offered to shuttle us over to another Hilton Hotel they own to use their hot tub, but we just did not want to have to go through all that. The maid service was also very good & kept our room very clean, EVERY DAY! On the last day the kitchen staff changed & we were served some very sour milk. When the waitress became aware of this, she took it back to the kitchen & retrieved some fresh milk. Then the checkout clerk completely fumbled our checkout invoice & assured us over & over that the bill was taken care of in foil. Then we got a bill for something extra several days later that was not even ours. That was unsettling, especially after he assured us that there were no additional charges what so ever. We would still give this hotel another opportunity, should we ever be able to return to the area in the future because we feel the very good there, outweighed the , well, not so good & we would take another chance with them. Especially if the kitchen & hotel staff that served us the first several days was still there,...
Read moreYES THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY!!! I wish I could give them more stars, this place is amazing. I was traveling with my spouse and four teenagers, and last minute our flight was changed to a red eye, flying from the west...(not a fan of JetBlue but that's for another review)... So going on one hour of sleep after a long flight, we arrive at Buffalo in the morning. We called for the airport shuttle through the hotel and they gave us clear instructions on how to find it and called for a shuttle to me us. We had no checked bags, so we arrived at the stop within minutes, and found a shuttle there waiting!! Because our flight changed we arrived at the hotel at ten, but check in isn't until 3, they kindly checked to see if our room was available, but sadly it was not. Clearly we were in zombie mode from the red eye, and yet the front desk made us feel at home. She wisked our luggage away safely and invited us to use the lobby, pool, anything while we waited. She showed us to the restaurant inside, for which we were grateful and starving. Most hotels overcharge at their restaurants BUT NOT HERE! The prices were very reasonable, the food was good and the server was over the top kind. After we had breakfast we decided to go to the pool, our teens changed, and they gladly gave us a key card to enter the pool. Half of us swam, the other half fell asleep on the lounge chairs along the pool. I was so tired, I was sleeping, when the lady at the front desk quiet came to wake me to inform me that the room was ready, two hours earlier than expected!!! We crashed in our clean room. The beds were like heaven, and the darkened curtains were amazing! I have stayed at literally hundreds of hotels in my life. The kindness by the staff at this location was one of the best I've ever experienced, and I would love to stay here again. Like I said, I wish I could...
