Our reservation was for 3 adults and 2 children, so when we got to our room and there was no sleeper sofa, I called the front desk for a cot. I was told by the lady that had checked me in that she didn't believe they had any but she would look downstairs and there would be a $25 fee if she found one. I told her that my online reservation and price was for 3 adults and 2 children and asked them to waive the fee. She said it would be a while before she could look for the cot as she was the only one working and that she would contact the manager about the fee. She later found a cot but said the manager declined waiving the fee. We also told her that the refrigerator wouldn't close as there was so much ice build up coming out of it. She said there was nothing she could do about that. We broke off the ice the best we could and leaned our suitcase against the door. A towel under the door to catch leaks had mold on it. Our bed covers were dirty and our lamp was wired with electrical tape. Additionally we pulled back the curtain to make a makeshift bed for our 5th guest and behind the curtains was putrid. At 7 am the next morning the continental breakfast was out of pb, milk, coffee creamer, and spoons. I filled out a survey that was in my email and stated that they're were hidden fees and unclean rooms. The next morning at checkout, the front desk clerk asked me what specifically was wrong and wouldn't give me more than 10% off. I would have just left but had a show to catch.

I cannot believe I paid over $200 for a room (I love that we all are forced to just accept and shell out $$$ for what's not even a 24 hour stay, only a matter of hours, basically a place to sleep, and hotels/motels get away with this rip-off) for this janky hotel. The area right around the hotel is urban and ugly. The desk clerk was the only reason I gave this place any stars, as she was pleasant and quick. The hallways are these awful bright-lit, hospital like corridors. The stairwells are dirty, with the walls streaked with black who knows what, miscellaneous pictures stacked against them, the top of the stairs had a trash littered abandoned baby crib and bags of trash. The room is small with poor bathroom lighting, dirty windows that look out to an abandoned building across the street, and the grout in the shower/tub was black and brown, like mold or something equally disgusting. The entrance 3 side and back parking lots look like they are the perfect place to get assaulted and have one's car vandalized. I am so sickened that a place like this gets away with charging so much, and that I allowed myself to be swindled and, amazingly, it was one of the less expensive accomodations for the vicinity within reasonable distance to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts that didn't have reviews describing the establishment as a straight out crack house.

So I'm here now, in my clean room, and surprised enough I should review. I walked in expecting the worst... I read multiple recent reviews declaring how awful this hotel is. One particular distinguishment was that this Days inn is more like a Dead's Inn because it "smells like decaying flesh". I made up the Dead's Inn part. Anyway everything is nice and not a $100 ripoff. Walking in I was shocked to see the front desk area immaculately modern. The front desk attendant was dressed professionally (this was at 10pm , so overnight idk) and gave me typical quality service. I got my room key and assumed the desk entrance area was just a ploy. Then I opened my door, and shocked it was nice! So I'm glad some part of this hotel is appealing enough for me to be spending money on. The toilet paper roll is even nice. Hopefully management took/is still taking negative experiences seriously and not booking the undesirable rooms... those reviews can't all be made up.

The absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had. Late night staff not welcoming at all, entire entryway was torn apart for renovation with water on entryway floor. Booked a king room online and per the online "hotel policy" it stated $100 deposit, however, upon checking in we were told it was $150 and looked at like we were crazy when I referenced the online policy. Restaurant on site open until 11 per google, but when we got here that was closed too. Hallways had musty odor, and when we got to our room we had two double beds instead of the king bed and the refrigerator was broken. When I returned to the desk and questioned this, I was told that this was the room I booked and when I showed her that I had a screenshot of the king bed room I booked, she said that they don't have any king rooms available. Funny thing is, it still showed not one, but two king rooms available to book. Throughout all of this there was no sincerity or attempts at clarification of the discrepancy in policies or booking, rather a mere shrug of shoulders and bothered demeanor from staff which was probably one of the worst parts for me- I can be understanding of online mix ups and policy changes, I even commend the owner for making renovations to better the hotel- but to feel disrespected/bothersome as a paying customer asking questions is not ok. Had our arrival not been so late and we weren't tired from long travel, I would have turned right around and left. Luckily we only needed an overnight stay and left the following morning. Given the subpar experience with every other aspect, we didn't even take a chance on the complimentary breakfast and took our business elsewhere. I will say that staff upon checkout the following morning, despite being busy and in the middle of actually working on the renovations, were much more pleasant than the night before. ADDITION FOLLOWING OWNERS RESPONSE BELOW - We were fully aware of a deposit needed, as there are deposits for any hotel stay, as well as any lag time in going back to an account. What I am referring to is the DISCREPANCY in the online policy vs what your less than friendly staff verbally said and charged my card. Per your hotel website it stated $100 deposit (and still does) however, upon arrival we were verbally told $150. When I questioned this, there was no verbal or documented clarification of above discrepancy, not even an "we're not sure and will check into it"- just cold, dismissive demeanor as if I was wasting their time by even coming...

Get a load of this: we show up to our nearly $200 room because somehow this is the cheapest option in the area? But don’t worry, despite being almost $200 for a single night, it was still giving cheapest option in the area. We got our room which was in the basement? And honestly a pretty far walk from the check in. We passed this terrifying storage closet with broken toilets, beds, god knows what else. It was like an evil prop room. We could see it because the door was off the hinge and it was just open and haunting us. But I digress. When we got in the room is smelled absolutely insane, like stale urine and mold and you’ll never guess why. The room hadn’t been cleaned and there was unflushed urine in the toilet that had been there god knows how long! And the beds were unmade. It was absolutely nasty. So we went back upstairs and said the room hadn’t been cleaned and the receptionist (who was quite handsome, might I add) told us we needed to SHOW him. So we lug our luggage back down the stairs (3rd time on the stairs) into the basement, past the haunted prop closet, to the pee room and he furiously took pictures of everything and told us this has been happening a lot and he doesn’t know why. He didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or the insane experience but he did just keep saying “bullish*t”. Ok? Then he made us go BACK upstairs to the first floor to get another room (4x up and down the stairs now). It would have been really nice to get maybe a nicer room or something for putting us through this, but alas he gave us a different room in the BASEMENT. So we go back down (5x) and the room is directly across from the gaping haunted evil storage closet. This room was cleaned for sure but still honestly pretty nasty and the sink didn’t drain but I didn’t have it in me to go back upstairs and do it all over again, so I took 2 benedryl and tried to sleep. Somehow, the worst part of this whole experience was that I tried to write something with the Days Inn pen provided in the room and it was EMPTY. HOLLOW. there was no pen in the pen. I hated this place so much....

We arrived for our three night stay at The Days Inn Wyndham at 7 PM on August 14, 2025. Linda at the desk was very friendly and helpful and gave us our room key quickly. Unfortunately, the entire room smelled of urine and we went back down to the lobby and Linda was empathetic and spent a great deal of time finding us another room. We thought everything would be fine until I took a shower the next morning to find feces on the inside of the shower curtain. I actually washed it off under the shower but the curtain was still stained. My husband took a photo and brought it right down to the front desk as I quickly got dressed to join him. There was a person working the front desk who said this was impossible. And then an employee named Raymond began harassing my husband stating that it was Mucous and my husband did not know what he was talking about. When I arrived Raymond said to me, "if this is a true story, why didn't you come right down and complain"? I said to Raymond "Because I was naked and had to dry off and get dressed". He would not let up and I said, "All I am asking for is a new shower curtain and my bathtub to be cleaned". I then asked him if he was going to be able to do that for us. His reply, "I don't do that, I write it down for someone else to do". I did tell him that I expected it to be taken care of and he accused me of threatening him. My husband and I went out to breakfast and I tried to call Wyndham Customer Service three times and I was put on hold and no one ever answered. We looked for another hotel but there were no reservations available at the last minute in the Catskills. When we returned to the hotel we did have a new curtain. Linda's kindness was appreciated but the behavior of Raymond and the front desk clerk on the morning of August 15th truly made us...
