Dated and typical for a diner. Service was horrible our waitress was inattentive and we had to ask other waitresses to get ours before we even got to order. We both ordered (medium) steak and over easy eggs, buttered white toast with well done hash browns. We received none of that. Both stakes were very rare, the eggs were snotty & not over at all. Hash browns were blonde no "well done" in sight. The toast was the only correct thing. Our waitress had neglected to came back to check if "everything was ok" after bringing out our breakfast. When we did get someone's attention finally to address our incorrect order,it was 8 minutes later, that was even after asking another waitress to ask our waitress to come out to the table. The manager of the establishment did come to the table and attempt to get correct our breakfast but at that point I had lost my patience and just wanted to go. They did comp our breakfast but we left hungry and that is not the purpose when you go out to eat at an establishment. This is not our first disappointment in this diner we had eaten there several times before in the last 5 years and have been disappointed every time honestly & this time it had been almost a year and a half since our last visit and we thought we'd try again BUT to our dismay nothing's changed there. Food and service still disappointing. I have no more "chances" to give this diner. 3/31/25 We returned RELUCTANTLY and they did not disappoint with disappointing US as usual. I attached the picture of our "well done" home fries and when we Questioned why they weren't well down or even browned... We were told it's hard to cook them well done. Although our waitress was very apologetic it doesn't rectify the constant issue for this place to meet our demands for the food we requested. How many times do I need to be bitten by the same snake before I realize it will always...
Read moreI had a less-than good experience at the Liberty Diner. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese, with a Lobster Bisque and Side Salad. I guess I should have been forewarned when my server didnât even know that Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese had been added to the menu. The Lobster Bisque was delicious and the Side Salad had fresh ingredients. Unfortunately the good stopped there. My expectations were a Mac and Cheese with Buffalo Chicken added into it. When my meal came out, it was a ramekin of mac and cheese, with a deep-fried breaded piece of chicken breast on the side. The server was almost apologetic when she brought it to me. The chicken was overcooked and there was no buffalo sauce (nor any sauce) on it. The mac and cheese was just plain mac and cheese, with nothing added to it. I ate the mac and cheese and two bites of the chicken before I gave up on it. Buffalo chicken should have some sort of hot sauce - or even serve it with Tabasco! There should also be some kind of Blue Cheese either in the mac and cheese or served separately. It was a good thing that I had the bisque and the salad; or this review would have been 1 star. I was going to mention this all to the woman at the front register, but she was so surly and unpleasant that I just decided to pay and leave. This is the second time I have tried Liberty Diner as I travel through the area, and the second time I have been disappointed in the main meal; so I probably will not...
Read moreWe don't live in the area, but over the years whenever we're passing through we make sure to stop-in for a meal. As the name says, this is a Diner, and a half-century ago when such establishments were common that wouldn't have needed any explanation. The establishment is family-run and very reasonably priced, sometimes things take a little longer to get to the table, but that's because they have a large menu and make things fresh. Breakfast is always cooked to order, lunch specials include a hot or cold beverage and house-made rice or bread pudding, with whipped topping at no additional charge, while at dinner dishes like their beef brisket and pot roast are classics, again accompanied by generous sides including their house-made chicken soup, which seems to have a different pasta in it on each visit, but is consistently good. The facilities are clean, there are booths and a counter in the main room, and plenty of tables in the large side room, while a rotating case displays their desert cakes, a slice of which is included with their dinner specials. I know they do take-out, but I've never tried it, part of the point of a diner is to dine there and eat the food while it's hot! We've been there often enough to spot the regulars, and while we don't always agree with their politics, we leave such matters aside and enjoy the food and service, both of which are...
