Country Inn by Radisson - Queensbury NY
Upon walking into the lobby, you can see that this hotel is set up for get-togethers. Lots of comfy seating, and a 24 Hour coffee station, with great coffee and tea! Hot breakfast until 10am. Great staff - very accommodating, and an easy check-in-check out.
This hotel is close to all attractions, the Great Escape Amusement Park is right next door! That could be a little noisy, but if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not your hotel.
This is a family hotel, pools inside and out, and if your room is on the (outside) poolside, you will hear every noise that is made. Even simple conversations. My first two nights were relatively quiet, the third night there was a high school sports team on my floor, and they made noise until 2:30am, and it was on again at 5am. No sleep that night, and the hotel did what they could to quiet them down.
This hotel is a great price, and that can factor in when it comes to clientele. If you want to avoid sports teams, and screaming children, look for another hotel.
I have an SUV, and the hotel has plenty of parking, and nice wide parking spots as well.
Fitness center looked good. A nice overpriced pantry in the lobby, and vending machines on each floor. $2.50 for a soda.. The food vending machines only take credit cards, and I would never use my card for a $1.50 item.
Rooms: I stayed in three rooms for the week that I was there. The first room was a double queen, a very small room, but a big bathroom. The air/heater is about a foot away from one of the beds. There is no way to redirect the air coming from the heater, so if someone has to sleep in that bed, they will get blown away!
The second room was a King and had a terrible chemical odor; I had a physical reaction to whatever they sprayed; they changed my room to a King suite, and it was ok; no horrible odor. They would not tell me what the odor was, but I believe it's bug spray as they use to treat the mattresses. I had a similar reaction to chemicals in another hotel in Ithaca NY.
The King room has a couch, chair, and desk/desk chair.
The King Suite with a separate bedroom has a couch, very, very small bathroom, and a bedroom. They supply you with shampoo, conditioner, soap and such. Nicely presented.
The rooms had a good sized flat screen TV, with remote’s; cleaned and placed in plastic.
The rooms had a microwave and a good sized fridge in a cabinet, with a freezer compartment.
The Internet was fast, but it will crash when too many users link up. It crashed three nights that I was there and I had to use my own hotspot. There are plenty of electrical outlets, and USB’s on the desk, and next to the beds.
Overall it was a noisy stay, but you live and learn. Lake George is a family tourist trap. So, noise is a given. A nice place to visit off-season for sure.
Also, the Starbucks up the road by the outlet shopping centers has the nicest people working there. It...
