I usually write rave reviews about this place but this time I just cant. Checking in was an issue, my card was declined even though the funds were in my account.I had to pay a fee to use the atm in the lobby. The atm ran out of cash so I had to wait for someone to come fill it. Then I had to pay another fee to get the rest of the money out. The woman gave me my receipt and I noticed the price was more than my quote. She fixed it with out hesitation. The next day we were gone most of the day. When we came back to get ready for the wedding were attending, our room wasn't cleaned. That was about 2:15pm. Finally a knock at the door from housekeeping about 2:30pm (while we were trying to get ready for the wedding) asking if I wanted my room cleaned. I had no choice but to decline. That night was a much warmer night than the night before. I tried to use the ac and it wouldn't work. I went to the front desk and the woman advised me to unplug the unit from the wall for 5 minutes. When I got back to my room, I noticed there was no plug. I called the front desk and she told me there was no one there who could look at the a.c. until morning. She said she can see if there's a fan someplace. I told her I would need 2 because there were 2 of us in each room. I went to the front desk again and the woman gave me a window fan. She only had 1 so only two of us would be comfortable for the night. The window fan did not fit in the window and having to put it on the dresser, caused the fan to be no help. The fan kept falling over. Needless to say I barely slept that night. The next day during checkout, I returned the fan and clearly wasn't happy, the woman who checked me in also checked me out. I explained why I had the fan and the woman didn't even seen to care. The impression I got from her was pretty much, sorry for your bad luck, have a nice day. I've been going to the Best Western Ticonderoga hotel for many years. This is the only one I can actually say I don't feel the stay...
Read moreBooked this hotel over the phone 3 weeks in advance. I got here after many hours of traveling to be charged 200 dollars a night!!!! First room the odor was so bad from the elevator to the entire second floor. 2nd room i got was on the first floor and the room at least smelled cleaner. For 200 a night there are nooooo amenities. Pool is cracked and under repair which wasn't told to me when I booked. The hot tub is just not filled. The work out room is filled with blankets and pillows like its a bomb shelter. The room although fairly clean had someone's hair all over the sheets. As we walked to our room you pass the laundry housekeeping which is wide open and can see them visibly dropping clean linens on the nasty floor. We were offered what was supposed to be a terrific breakfast raved about while checking in. It was so bad I actually got sick. The omelets which I was told are purchased from Cisco and put in a warming oven. The hash rows had a freezer burned taste and were soggy. I asked the lady for some scrambled eggs since those are supposed to be cooked fresh and they were soo bad. I couldn't mask the taste with ketchup salt or pepper. And they give you maybe an egg possibly 2 ... so sad and disappointed for the price you pay. If there was another place around I would honestly leave. And then I check my bank account and they already charged me and over charged me. Im told that we will try to adjust this when u check out!!!! I'm filing a formal complaint.. front desk clerk Carly was amazing and tried to help in anyway possible. Sadly this place needs to evaluate their facilities and make them amenable for the price they are...
Read moreInternet was good. The door opened properly. Lots of pillows, very short drive to work. There, now I'm not just complaining.
I had to call the front desk upon my first 5 minutes in the room as my Television had sound but no picture. They instructed me to unplug the tv from the wall and wait 5 minutes and try again. Well, at least that "Trick" worked.
So, I was relaxing watching the TV and catching up on my email, I decided to make a bag of popcorn... Wait a minute... There's NO microwave... Sigh.. Dissapointed, I travel to the local Walmart to pick up some grub for the following days lunch break. Grab some frozen dinners, water, etc... Got back to the room and attempted to find the freezer portion in the mini-fridge.. Yup, you guessed it. NO freezer.
I will make my reservations at one of the gazillion lodges (bed and breakfast) nearby if I ever make a return visit.
Ok, then I went to check out... They asked me if I was returning to Ohio... When I informed them that their information was incorrect, they verified my name, then asked me if I wanted to keep this on my American Express. That's when the alarms in my head went off again, but this time it was RED ALERT!... Come to find out, they were billing my room to some other poor sap from Ohio. I just hope that they don't use my credit card to pay for someone else! I think I would have a super conniption fit. But I'm still worried about it.
5 night stay $750, writing a review online of how messed up it was, Priceless.
There now I...
