This hotel was not very good at all. Perhaps Ticonderoga itself was so depressing that our opinion of this hotel was further impacted. In any case, the exterior of the hotel seemed to be in a long needed painting/staining to look anything like the picture posted on its online website. The interior carpet seemed worn to the nubs and looked very dirty despite some daily vacuuming, one morning clumps of mud were seen in the entry and on the stairs and were still there a few hours later, the room itself was okay but spartan. Some holes in the stairway wall need patched from a former handrail installation. The hot water for a shower was not hot but tepid at best. We did get our towels changed each of the three days we stayed here. The "breakfast" should not be described or advertised as a breakfast. The attached photo of the breakfast was taken on the second day, the first day there were only a couple of tiny fruit cups and two prepackaged muffins. No juice, no cereal, nothing warm, all prepackage items that looked like they were bought at the Walmart next door. I guess the front desk person would occasionally refill the items a few at a time but the choices were the very small cold yogurt cups, small fruit cups and prepackaged muffins shown in the attached photo. My wife and I spent three nights in Ticonderoga as part of a three week fall vacation that included a Canada and New England cruise from Quebec City to Boston. I chose Ticonderoga as one of our stops as I thought it would be a good location from which we could drive to Stowe and other places in Vermont's Green Mountains as well as to Lake Placid and other places in the Adirondacks. Our plan was to see the fall colors and to visit several historic and some colonial historic sites in Massachusetts. The plan was good and we enjoyed the variety our road trips. But YIKES! We were shocked at the state of Ticonderoga. There was essentially no breakfast at the Super 8 so we needed to find a nearby place to eat breakfast. McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, and one or two local dinner type places were all we could find open for breakfast. The lack of restaurants (only a couple) in Ticonderoga and its disappointing downtown condition. On our last night we found one wonderful restaurant, Paper and Pencil. It was great, a new building on a historic site just a minute or two from downtown Ticonderoga with a great menu and well prepared food. However, if you are thinking of visiting Ticonderoga, I suggest you investigate it thoroughly before making your decision to do so.

Allminor things aside, this was a cozy little place, and without comparing it to other places it wasn't a bad experience. If you need a cheap place to stay, and you can get there, it's worth it for a nicely kept, safe, clean room. Now... Onto the small complaints: Breakfast? It was coffee, yogurt, and pre-packaged muffins/danishes. I was dying of thirst and couldn't even get a water. Luckily the hotel in in the same parking lot at a McDonald's, and a Wal-Mart, so there are off-site options that are close by, but this was a bit of an annoyance. Other than that, imagine you've just driven 300 miles, and it's late at night, your GPS usage has drained the battery on your phone and you just need to get some rest and recharge your phone. Most hotels make that pretty easy, with light fixtures with A/C outlets in them, or USB chargers built in. Not here! Not only did they not have any designated areas for additional power, they didn't have enough for the coffee maker in the room. The power cable was just dangling, nowhere near an outlet. I had to move the television and unplug a lamp to find a place to plug in my phone. Insane. On top of that the safe in the room was locked... so I guess someone else had some goodies in there that they forgot.

Stay away. Housekeeping starts at 7am, they are extremely loud, had to go out in the hallway and remind them that people are actually staying at this hotel. Bathroom sink backed up, called front desk, no one ever came to take care of the issue. Shower head had seemingly never been cleaned, and there was a questionable stain on the chair in the room. Entrance also has several potholes that would swallow a small car.

My wife and I booked two nights at the Super 8 Ticonderoga. The motel was basic, but also attractive and the staff was friendly. However, we found that the rooms and the motel have some serious design flaws and maintenance failures.||The hotel has two floors but no elevator. Even though we arrived right at the check-in time of 3 pm, we were given a room on the 2nd floor which meant all of our bags had to be carried up the steps when we arrived and down when we left. This is not as easy now that I am 82 years old as it was when I was 40. ||We were surprised to find that the open clothes rack, which substitutes for a closet, was installed right over the desk in our room. That meant that only short items, such as shirts, could be hung from the clothes bar. Incredibly inconvenient. Why would anyone place the clothes rack over the desk? ||The desk itself was very small, and there was no light over the desk. The desk chair was the only chair in the room. Other than the desk, there were no other flat surface to place items. There also was no suitcase rack, so the suitcases had to be placed on the floor or the bed. ||The shower had one grab bar, which was placed so low that when I was taking a shower, I could not reach it without bending down. What were they thinking? Perhaps the grab bar is designed for people who take baths instead of a shower, which means there was effectively nothing to grab while getting into or out of the shower, or when taking a shower. ||The bed was a total disaster. It was so soft, or worn out in the middle, that my body sunk down and I strained my back. That alone would have disqualified this property for me. ||The room had only two lights, the two bedside lamps. The lamps were attractive, but the only switches were on the light sockets which were hard to reach while in bed. Other hotels use bedside table lamps with switches in the bases, which can be reached while in bed. The bedside lights were so bright that it was impossible to get up to use the bathroom without waking anyone else sleeping in the same bed. ||The room was equipped with a small hotel-style, in-room safe but our safe did not work. I went to the front desk as we were going out to dinner to inquire about the safe, since I wanted to put my laptop in there while we were out. I was told that the batteries had probably died, but they could not be replaced until the following day. Not very useful for our dinner trip. ||And, finally, the Wi-Fi service was so slow as to be...

I had been camping for three days before checking into the hotel.the night before on the way to the hotel the highway was shut down due to an accident. There is a driving rain the weather was terrible I couldn't get a data connection it took me an hour to get to the hotel because I didn't have a data connection to get map data. And so I didn't get checked untl after midnight. Not being familiar with the area I was on all kinds of two-lane roads and it was just a mess there was driving rain, fog etc.

Being the first bed that I've slept in in several days after camping I was completely exhausted. And overslept the alarm clock. I woke up 10 minutes before checkout. I wasn't given a chance to wake up go to the bathroom or anyting. I was basically told to get out in 10 minutes. So I had to run around collecting my items like madman. So I could leave in 10 minutes. I'm not even sure I got all my belongings out of the room.I've never been treated so rudely and without compassion by a hotel manager in my life.I used to work at the corporate offices of a hotel and if a guesthad this problem we would at least give them I half an hour to at least clean up a little bit and leave. So I basically ran out of the hotel with untied shoes, pants on without a belt, I'm still half-asleep with filthy glasses.I asked if there was a truck stop I could take a shower at and I was told there's one down the street. I will never stay at a super 8 again I can't believe the treatment I received probably because I booked on Expedia. I realize that I overslept but stuff happens I was completely exhausted after hiking almost fifteen miles on the Long Trail the day before.

So now I'm sitting in my car completely filthy I haven't showered, have to go to the bathroom shoes untied, pants falling off, hoping I got everything out of the room. The manager of this hotel had nothing but an attitude. And now I'm trying to find another hotel to check into so I can at least go to the bathroom and take a shower. Absolutely embarrassing.

Edit: In response to the GMs comments of my review. Your staff was knocking on my door. They could have offered a later check out when I explained that I was exhausted from the highway closure, hiking for several days etc. It was pretty obvious I was half asleep and accidental. PS you have my mailing address. Feel free to drop the $14 map of the Adirondacks I left behind...
