When we arrived the place seemed like it would be really nice. The room looked clean and we were initially impressed. That quickly changed. Within 5 minutes of being in the room I sat on the window seat and all of a sudden I was covered in Fleas. As you will see in the pictures I had fleas everywhere. We quickly left the room and went to the front desk because we can't stay in a room that is Flea ridden. I showed the front desk clerk that my legs were covered and her response was "we are pet friendly". Okay!! now what are you going to do for us? Initially they weren't going to do anything. There was no manager on site and we went back up to the room until we received a phone call that we would get another room. This room wasn't Flea ridden but it surely wasn't clean. It had pee stains and stained linen. At what point is this place going to help us with the horrible experience we were in the middle of. We waited around (when we should have been on our way to Oswego for Harborfest) while they tried to figure out if they were going to do anything else. They eventually upgraded our room to a suite that had a kitchen (that we didn't need nor were prepared to have). The room was real nice and clean (thankfully). However, we had a "wonderful" view of the front of the hotel's awning and parking lot (really not a good view for their best room). I asked on several occasions to speak with the manager. I even left standing orders that when the manager was on site that she was to contact us. I didn't care what time of the day or night it was. Needless to say the weekend came and went with zero contact from management. We checked out of the hotel and we weren't contacted at all. This hotel gets a 1 star rating only because I can't give it less. The customer service was horrid and the status of the hotel was less then satisfactory. Please do not stay at this hotel!!

This was by far THE BEST room we have stayed in, in a while! I was traveling with my 92 year old Grandma, 2 year old dog, and was on the trip to pick up a new puppy, and travel back home the next day! We booked last minute... The day before our trip! I had very specific special requests... I needed a PET FRIENDLY, WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE, ROOM WITH SOFA-OR-RECLINER, ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS, AND CLOSE PARKING.... I also asked if we could check in an hour early. We were able to get a beautiful, clean, queen suite with bed, sofa, chair, mini kitchen with sink, fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee, tea, condiments. Our bathroom had a walk in shower, with shower chair.. A toilet with grab bars, and sink next to it. We could have had breakfast too! Our room was a handicap room... At first I was worried when I only saw 2 or 3 entrances into the entire building, but each one had ramps... Our room was right close to the ramp, and handicap parking. They also had a hotel cart I used to bring the kennel, and grams oxygen tanks back out to the car! The receptionist was beyond helpful, and kind! She kept the exit door open so I could get everything into, and back out of our room! The entire place, including our room, and outside, was so clean you would never know they allowed animals!! Even the lawn was kept up very nice! They also had the place decorated nicely for fall, and Halloween! We will definitely stay here again, next time we are down that way! Thanks for an exceptional experience!

Checked in a little before midnight after driving for over 5 hours. Upon first walking into the room, it had a funny smell, and my shoes were sticking to the floor. The pull out couch was unusable and janky. Going to the shower, the faucet was leaky and corroded. I slept with socks on to make sure my bare feet wouldn’t touch the floor. The towels were dirty with hair and had brown spots. The shower/tub also did not look like it had been clean. Wallpaper was peeling and there was obvious water damage on the walls. The bed also squeaked if you so much a moved your foot. Barely slept. The door had to be slammed to close. Checked out immediately after waking up. Woke up at 9 am and had left the room by 9:30 and the car was repacked. We had booked for 3 nights and left after 10 hours. Unfortunately, we booked the room accidentally via a 3rd party, and while the 3rd party was willing to refund us our $, the hotel did not have a manager on duty and apparently only a manager could issue a refund. Not sure how we’re going to get our money back, but don’t stay here. It’s definitely not worth it. 0 stars.

Such a mixed bag...

THE POSITIVES:

Great price

Modern amenities

Clean facilities

Friendly staff

Very comfortable tempurpedic-type mattress

THE NEGATIVES:

Horrible heater/AC unit - I stayed in two separate rooms and in both, the baseboard-mounted combination unit was difficult to regulate (no true thermostat so every change of setting was a guess), very loud, and abrupt on/off cycles that made sleep difficult.

Water barely warm enough at "full hot" for a comfortable shower. Water pressure was also suboptimal.

THE EXPERIENCE:

This was a quick stop-over trip for me on the way to another destination. I stayed here twice, each visit within a few weeks of each other. On this second trip, the TV was not pulling in a signal, so they moved me to another room where the TV worked fine (important since a snow storm was forecast and I needed to stay on top of that news). The room was cold, so I kicked on the heat. Then it got too hot, so I turned the temp dial down. The dial was not clearly marked, so hitting the right temperature was solid guesswork. After several attempts over the next couple of hours, I managed to get the closest thing to the right balance - but still, the room would cycle cold and hot, averaging close enough that neither extreme was intolerable. However, when the heat kicked on, there was a loud, incessant rattle that made sleep simply impossible. Ultimately, I had to leave the unit off - and turn it on overnight every so often to get some heat back in the room. While the mattress was wonderfully comfortable, I had to bundle up in layers to stay warm (long John's, wool socks, and a hoodie) since the climate control was unusable.

Waking up the next morning, I went straight to the shower in happy anticipation of the warmth that eluded me all night. But the water was barely above luke-warm at its hottest setting. At this point, I should mention that I heard a knocking on the wall during my stay and assumed the TV was too loud. Despite turning it down so low I could barely hear it, the knocking happened again. It was only in the morning that I figured out who my ghost tapper was - it was the toilet. After flushing, the pipes would make a loud knocking noise after the tank finished filling.

VERDICT:

Would I stay here again? Mmmmm... Not sure. The saving grace is that the staff seem wonderfully responsive here on Google Reviews, and I have hopes these issues will be addressed. There is so much potential here. It was clean. It had an exceptionally comfortable mattress. It was inexpensive. And it wasn't so "micro" for a Microtel. It would no doubt be a perfect choice on a day when the outside temperature was the same as room temperature - a day when that base-mounted monster could remain off and hot showers were not critical to correcting clinical hypothermia. Frankly, I've had greater success maintaining body heat in a tent on...

Upon arrival, we were greeted with an amazing front desk gal. Older woman, I feel bad we didn’t catch her name. She was very sweet! We paid to stay two nights, but decided the next morning to leave early and go back home. Not only did the front desk agent have a discourteous, insulting attitude she was also highly rude when it came to checking us out. She refused to check us out a day early and refund us our money for the second day we didn’t stay. She mentioned her “manager” would be in to take care of the matter and I said we live almost two hours away there’s no way we can come back and deal with this. We left the hotel and we called back to ask her when the “manager” would be in. She asked why do we need to know and she had no idea when he was coming in.” So that right there did it for me we turned around went back to the hotel and demanded that she give us a managers phone number after she denied helping us. We called the manager named Harry and he didn’t do anything accept say he would take care of it. I’m still waiting to see almost $100 back refunded. My family when we go out and travel which is rare, it’s a treat for us and we are kind, respectful, we don’t trash the rooms and we love ppl so to deal with such disgrace from a woman whom is obviously to good to do anything at the desk( was her attitude) she was horribly rude to my 4 yr old, and husband who serves in the military. We went back outside, and some man came up to our car and was yelling about the (forgeign woman at the front desk) saying I’m not prejudice but that woman is horribly rude. Also went into his room without permission “checking on things” after giving him a key 5 mins prior. I’ve worked for a hotel and as a front desk agent at night, you don’t check rooms unless a guest asks for help with something otherwise you direct the issue for the following morning for Maintenance or manager, you don’t wander the halls, you sit at your desk answer phones, forward emails etc. I will never return to this hotel ever again after dealing with such ungracious, bad mannered employee. The woman who is a short white woman! You were amazing thank you for being so kind.

Again we are not prejudice, we were the ones not treated equally. Save your $75 for a night and go...
