Read moreUpdate: Tried the dinner service with my family. We were the only customers there for a while (I think this probably had something to do with it being the week between Christmas and New Year with the university on break) and the atmosphere felt a little awkward due to it being just us in this dimly lit place and our waitress being very soft-spoken, and it was also a long wait for our food, or maybe it just felt like that due to the dead atmosphere. The food, when it came, was amazing and worth the wait. I got the spinach ravioli with garlic chive funghi cream sauce and tried a little bit of the spaghetti al frutti di mare. The sauce in my dish had a great flavour and the mushrooms were cooked to just the perfect tenderness. My taste of the frutti di mare was also delicious. I was underwhelmed by the portion size of my dish (5 medium-large ravioli), but the other two pasta dishes were heaping piles of pasta. Dessert was fantastic as always. I would come again for dinner or lunch. I've been back for lunch since my first visit and also stopped by once to grab a dessert to go, and the lunch experience was again enjoyable and a welcome change from other places you can get a quick lunch in Vestal. The dinner experience with sit-down dining service is very different, but I would endure the slight awkwardness again for the good food.
Original: Very cool to have a place like this in Vestal! The aesthetic is very sleek, feels like an urban coffee shop, but they have some upscale restaurant-style dishes as specials in addition to light food like sandwiches, salads, and personal pizza. The specials are expensive but the core menu isn't exorbitantly pricey, and everything my friend and I tried was very good. I had the campagnolo panini and an iced americano, and my friend and I shared a chocolate hazelnut cake and tiramisu for dessert. I was a little wary of the hardboiled eggs in the campagnolo but they were cooked perfectly (not overdone) and worked very well with the other ingredients. I really liked the two dressings that came with the panini for dipping. The tiramisu had more of an eggy taste than I'm used to but it was still delicious, just different. The chocolate hazelnut cake was delicious. The desserts were both very rich in flavour but not too heavy. And my iced americano (decaf) was top-notch - the espresso was nice and smooth. The service style is casual where you order and pay at the counter, and then they bring the dishes to your table. The barista that took our orders was friendly and cheerful. Hopefully I will have the chance to...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem! We dined there looking just for good food. We were bested with great food! This place is nicely designed, the lighting the general ambience and the playlist, were all conducive to a great culinary experience. We were hungry and you know what they say, when you’re hungry? Everything tastes great. But Caffe del Corso was the exception. The appetizers were insanely delicious and tantalizing—the eggplant and the shrimp were seasoned right and served like art! The lavender lemonade was quite novel for us and it was just right in flavor and quantity, it was a real treat! And it was not overly sweet at all. If you are looking for a refreshing treat, please try the lemonade! The oxtail ragu, the short ribs, the sausage with broccoli rabe and the grilled chicken were all top tier! The flavor of the oxtail ragu was divine, the sauce was so good that I licked the platter clean, and the pasta was al dente and very filling. The grilled chicken portions were ‘just right’ and the chicken pieces were nicely seasoned and succulent! It was served on a bed of crisp fresh lettuce- I hope the good people of Binghamton know what they have in this restaurant. The risotto was creamy and heart-warming, and the short ribs were dense yet tender. This was so delicious that I was willing to trade my oxtail for it. Everything was excellently executed. We were constantly wowed by every bite. The desserts were out of this world delicious! The price is right and there is plenty of parking too.You cannot go wrong, every choice is a good choice. The service and attention were phenomenal. We have not experienced this level of culinary richness in a while and we will treasure it until we return. Caffe del Corso is a rare experience because most restaurants don’t understand the concept of farm-to-table. They don’t understand service and they don’t understand food science. The chefs and the team at this restaurant get it! This place is high caliber and if you like to eat high quality food in a high quality environment, this is your spot. It’s a 10! Go out and experience this place and the food it will knock...
