I think you will enjoy this campground if you understand what it is like before you make your reservation. We are talking about a campground with Lake Superior shoreline, that is a big plus.

Prows: On Lake Superior. Located on the edge of Two Harbors. Close to shopping and restraints. Staff, Incredibly friendly. Rocky beach area for swimming or just hanging out by the lake. Sights include: Primitive or Electric & Water or Electric, Water & Sewer. Lavatories with running water & showers. Dump Station

Cons ( The campground has 2 sections, the original campground and the expansion sight that is across the road from original sight. I stayed at the original sight.)

Blacktop drive is in bad shape and needs to be replaced. High density camp ground. Small campsites close together, but remember this is the North Shore, one of Minnesota's heavily visited areas. Bathrooms are due for remodeling.

I would defiantly stay hear again. Before booking take a look at the campground on Google Earth. I think of this as a place to stay while I enjoy my activities on the North Shore. If you are looking for a KOA style campground this might not be for...

The primitive tent sights are absolutely awful. Stacked on top of each other, right next to the main road, and ground is covered in bumpy tree roots and rocks. Two of the tent sites have virtually no level ground at all, ours being one of them. We slid down in our tent because of it. We used the bathrooms when we first got there and saw the cleaning staff just leaving as we went in. I’m not really sure what they did other than maybe stock toilet paper. The counters were covered in water, debris was all over the ground and there was some sort of soapy residue on the shelf in one of the shower stalls. The family bathroom was also completely unavailable. It really seemed as if the owners were just looking for a way to squeeze in more revenue and thought ‘let’s pile 6 campsites on top of each other on this rocky hill next to the busy and loud main road and call them ‘primitive’.’ If you want to be packed in like sardines with your fellow campers, awoken at 6 am (so much for quiet hours) to the sound of a semi’s air brakes, and use dirty bathrooms this is the campground for you! If not, do yourself a favor and find a state...

Do not camp here if you are looking gor quiet camping. We stayed 1 night of our 3 in a tent the tent sites were extremly muddy and uneven. The photo online made it look like you were overlooking the lake was not and right next to 2 roads that for whatever reason the city workers would honk approching the stop sign bathrooms were not close at all. you could not pull you car up to the tent site. Absolutely no privacy whatso ever to the poit we could hear the tent site next to us farting in their tent. Do not recommend if you have small kids due to bed time is so hard its loud till ten pm then the highway right next to the campground is horrible. We will not be back. also the beach was full of glass and not like sea glass sharp dangerous glass recommend shoes or water shoes on the beach. Tent site was uneven and the only spot to really put our tent was so muddy and the roots from the trees were also not helping anything. Point being dont stay here if your looking for a quite wilderness experience this is more of a moblie home experience with how packed together everyone is. Will not ever be back much better places to...

We stayed in site #75 with full hook-ups. Easily fit our 38 ft 5th wheel with minimal difficulty backing in. Sites are large enough that you're not totally stacked on your neighbors. Quiet campground! Many sites had a dog (or several) and there wasn't any barking at night. There is lots of trails down to the local beach for playing in the water and hunting for agates. There is a new bike/ walking path along the highway that is easily accessible from the campground. The shower/ bath houses were clean. It's a quick zip into town for any forgotten items or groceries. Head on down to Agate Beach and watch the ore ships come in!! This is a nice, clean campground that is a short distance to Betty's Pies, Gooseberry Falls, Split Rick lighthouse, and Black Sand Beach. It's about a 40ish min drive to Duluth.

There was a mudpit next to our pad. This was the worst campsite I have ever stayed at. The pad was thin and not level. There was nowhere to park my truck after placing the 25 foot trailer as far back as possible. The notion of having a campfire with the fire pit ring next to the trailer was not possible. The picnic table was stuck between the bush and the trailer making it unusable. The site was littered with bits of garbage, and the fire pit was full of burnt out logs. The grass on the opposite side from the mudpit was three feet tall. The idea of cleaning and maintenance of this site was none existent. The posted quiet time of 10pm was a mere suggestion because at midnight there where numerous campfires (in 30 degree heat) still going with lots of accompanying noise.

A little pricey at $63, but the staff answering the phones when we made our reservation we're very patient and friendly not to mention accommodating. Nice little North Shore themed gift shop in the office as well. She found us a spot with a nice Overlook, so in spite of the expense it's hard to beat a view like this! Can't say enough about how clean the restrooms and shower facilities were. Fairly quiet, even being as close to Highway 61 as it is . There is a new section to the park where the roads are newly paved which is nice because the main entrance is quite bumpy, but that's one of the only negatives I could find. Very close to town and just a couple minute drive from the Two Harbors lighthouse.
