BoB-a-Q Smokehouse & Grill — Restaurant in Two Harbors

Wow. This place is amazing. The food is incredible; their brisket brat is unlike any brat I’ve ever had, and my mouth is watering just writing about it. Other stuff I tried: ribs (best I’ve had in MN by far), Mac and cheese (really solid - I find that a lot of bbq places don’t get the sides right and that wasn’t the case here), brisket (so, so good). Sauce is great too. My kid said she wishes we lived here “so I could come here every day”.

I saw another review that mentioned the prices being high, and I disagree. For the pretty generous portions, quality, and obvious hard work that goes into what you’re getting, I thought the prices were more than fair.

The person taking orders (who I think is the owner?) was so kind, helpful, and clearly passionate about good food. You can tell he takes pride in this place!

If you’re in Duluth or even just passing through, drive just a few more miles to Two Harbors, this spot is absolutely worth the trip. I’ve eaten barbecue all over the country, from Texas and beyond, and I can honestly say this place ranks right up there with some of the best competition-level barbecue I’ve ever had.

The brisket sandwich is simple and perfect soft, fresh bun, moist smoked brisket, and that unmistakable real smoke flavor that sets it apart. The potato salad is spot on, and everything else I ordered was just as impressive. The brisket bites/burnt ends, were outstanding, full of flavor and tenderness. And those jalapeño poppers? No exaggeration, they’re incredible.

What a charming little place. Fantastic BBQ I had the sliced brisket sandwich. I was hesitant at first when I unwrapped my sandwich due to the uneven slicing of the brisket. As a retired chef, even hand slicing on products shows me the professional quality. I grabbed the uneven thick piece and it fell apart as I lifted, that along with a wonderful smoke ring, immediately changed my mind. It was so tender and flavorful. The brisket was stacked on a fresh bun and with their own bbq sauces to choice, it was amazing after a long day of travel. It was so good, I rearranged my next days travels so that I could stop there on my way home, grabbing 2 brisket sandwiches to go for my lunch the following day. Looking forward to eating...
