Los Portales Union City — Restaurant in Union City

We visited a few days ago as a large party. We came at a slow time and were pretty easy we were immediately met with attitude from the host/cashier just because we were a large party. No crazy orders or anything. The service was okay but left a lot to be desired. The food was hit or miss. Some of it good some like the tacos were just nasty grease traps with no flavor. We had a major problem leaving. They refused to split our tickets and said they would have to do it at the register. Many many many paid too much, and at the end I was the last party to pay for my family of four and after telling the most hateful girl with classes (who happened the be the same one mad because we walked in) told me I was lying and trying to steal a meal. She told me I wasn't leaving without paying many times but could not tell me what the combo plate was. Extremely hostile, rolling her eyes, absolutely refused to give me a detailed bill. We did end up paying for the meal because at this point children were completely melted down and crying and we just wanted to leave. In the parking lot each party compared totals vs meals they ordered and every single party over paid. Combined we were overcharged over $100. Absolutely will not visit this establishment again, and will tell everyone we know to avoid. I understand large parties can be overwhelming but in this situation the threatening HATEFUL attitude was completely unnecessary and absolutely...

We arrived at 6:30 pm Saturday night with a party of eight. When it took a while for a server to take our drink order and then only six drinks arrived, we should have left. But we all ordered food at 6:45, including 4 of the same burrito meal and a steak fajita. Only standard menu items were ordered--nothing fancy. More 45 minutes later, six and a half meals arrive. One of 4 burrito meals never arrived. The steak fajita was cold and the lettuce/sour cream/guacamole/refried beans/rice plate was very late.

The young server avoided our table and claimed someone at our table cancelled the missing order.

We chose Los Portales because other places were so busy and prior experiences had been fine. Despite their weak apology and taking the missing meal off the bill, they didn't give us the discount they offered.

There are too many Mexican restaurants that will provide service. We will NEVER come back to Los Portales...

we went last night party of 12 half which were our children who got kids meals but we asked for them to sing for my nieces 8th birthday she loves mexican well they no longer do that, that ok they said they do cake or dessert ect and would bring it out well that was the last we heard of that.. we were a drink short half our 45 minute wait for our meals, finally food arrives.. small plates of food my chicken breast was a chicken piece, my sisters food had a label of some sort in it so we finally get a waiters attention told him no..' im sorry' nothing just takes the plate she waits 15 more mins for her food at this point we are finshed eating and her food this time isnt even hot .. we ask for togo boxes 10 more minute wait boxes arrive.. still no im sorry nothing they made atleast 150$ from our dinner and couldnt even offer a...
