Read moreThis hotel is not transparent about the charges. I've paid parking fees before, but only in big cities like Chicago and DC, and I was warned of the charges in advance. They surprised me with parking fees, not that it matters because the semis park here and take up 8-10 spots at a time, limiting availability.
Upon check-in, the clerk tried to charge me a fee for a service dog and I had to explain that it was illegal. There's mold in the upper corners of the bathroom, by the shower. As someone with a mold allergy, this irritates me more than usual. The TV does not turn off; it automatically restarts and you can only shut it off via sleep timer. Turning on the TV must be done manually, as it doesn't respond to the remote. The in-room telephone was faint at first, but stopped working completely. Wi-Fi is inconsistent. Maid Service is offered every other day (which would be fine if this was mentioned up front).
The manager, Andy, got verbally passive-aggressive when our party brought up that the hotel was issuing unauthorized charges to our card. This vacation was particularly stressful as my service dog needed emergency surgery and Andy's lack of professionalism really made things so much worse.
I will say that the maid staff and custodians were really polite and helpful. They were willing to assist when asked, and were understanding when I accidentally dumped ice on the floor. They were the redeeming part of this stay.
Otherwise, buyer beware. It may be worth staying with one of their numerous local...
Read moreMy husband and I came to the area for a mini vacation for our 15th anniversary. We arrived at our room last night(not Hampton yet), to find it infested with bugs. was full of bugs we called around and found a Hampton Inn down the road with availability, really nice hotel, checked in. We checked it with a rate quoted on the phone of $134 a night This morning we got out shopping and walking around. We finished…came back to watch the sunset. Upon our arrival our keys wouldn’t work for the parking deck or our room. Luckily there was a gate up so we could get back into the parking deck. We go down to the front desk to find out we had been checked out of our room and our stuff was in the their storage closet downstairs. Our things turned out to not be in the closet but they kicked us out of that room and offered us another room at $302 a night. After checking us in for what we told them was two nights, their mistake. They said they only had one room left. So I looked on their website and they had several left. I had a panic attack and broke down and couldn’t stop crying. We packed up and left. Can’t believe the front desk person made this big of a mess and accepted zero responsibility. We were charged two separate charges and refunded one. It was all suspicious and upsetting. They made the mistake, we paid the price. They were not accommodating AT ALL for the error the man made that worked the front desk. Really really bad experience. Would never recommend this hotel. Not ever. Never been...
