If I could leave 0 stars, I honestly would. The crew were aggressive with the children and rude. We have only the best experiences with the sea creamer in Panama City Beach and wow was this an utter disappointment. This was not worth the money or time and believe me, we were actually hoping that it would end at just a half hour…especially after the crew’s behavior towards everyone, especially the target audience which is the children. I would never take this trip again nor would I recommend it and we are locals. Please take my advice and pay for the Sea Screamer. This was the absolute worst experience and we love Panama City Beach but this was horrible. If you are rude to children and market to children, then what is the point of this-certainly not worth the price. The WORST. Also, please learn how to treat children or eat a snack-don’t be hangry at the kids. The reservation was under my mom’s name-Rosalind Price.
I am the one who recently posted a bad review on google. We were asked to leave a review and so I did; unfortunately, I truly believe it could have been a much better experience. The reservation was paid for under my mom’s name, Rosalind Price. They are visiting and we are locals and were hoping to treat them on a different experience since we have always done the sea screamer.
The experience was not bad with the ship itself but mainly, the staff, exclusive of the male dressed as a pirate. He was the only one attempting to interact with the children. The others were especially rude to the children and the captain at the end of the tour was abrasive and was sarcastically rude to my 10 year old who is also autistic. The crew was corrective to the children in a way that we felt bordered rude. I am a lawyer and understand legalities of safety, but there’s probably a better way to do it than being unnecessarily sarcastic and further, the behavior just seemed like a grumpy babysitter who hated her job-I am particularly speaking of the young female pirate-who also refused to give my nephew another tattoo even though his had rubbed off with the water on his arm. Her response was only one tattoo was allowed and it was put quite rudely. My nephew cried. I believe I heard other parents exit the tour and one was expressing that “she would go back and give that pirate what for”-her words exactly.
At any rate, I normally do not leave bad reviews but to pay as much as we did for the children to just have fun-it was a pretty disappointing experience.
Most honestly, at this point, we would appreciate a refund as this was just not the experience all were hoping for nor do I believe it was what it could have been. It could have been hot and a bad day, but with children, there’s really just no excuse to be sarcastic and rude over the microphone in...
Read moreThis excursion reached far above my expectations. I’ve seen this ship from a distance, heard the cannons pop and seen some images of kids on the ship in pirate gear, but I had no idea how fun and engaging this experience actually is until we went on the trip yesterday. The ship is actually quite massive. It is a site as you approach it - my son was in awe, and so incredibly excited to be stepping onto a ‘real’ pirate ship, greeted by ‘real’ pirates. The crew on board are TOP NOTCH, and so welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed their comedic banter and storyline.
We were 5 adults that brought six kids ages 2, 5, 10, 12, 14 and 16 - everyone had a BLAST. The 2 year old was the only kid that required constant parental supervision. I did maintain eyes only on my 5 year old, but I did feel comfortable enough with the crew and the confines of the boat to walk away (the crew encouraged parents to do so) for a moment to concessions/bathroom - that’s how fabulous they were (I tend to be a helicopter mom). There was introductory instruction for all the children on ‘sea legs’ for safety and then they initiated the fun with a full on water gun battle. After sending the girls inside to get some face painting (I thought was so sweet and chivalrous), they had the boys scrub the deck. This was HILARIOUS to watch and provided me with photographs of my son I will cherish lol. After scrubbing the deck, the boys went in for some face painting, got some cool pirate hats and we got to see some super cute dolphins swimming off the side of the boat. The kids got to do some maritime dancing, go below deck and listen to some cool pirate stories, they got pirate temporary tattoos applied and they actually got to hunt for REAL TREASURE that they ACTUALLY PULLED OUT IF THE SEA!!! It was so cool!!! My son was just elated. The crew did a phenomenal job ensuring every kid received a share of the treasure, and most importantly they ensured every kid remained safe (a pirate oversaw all children from above deck and would call out to anyone running or doing anything unsafe over a microphone). They also made sure every kid had fun. Thank you Sea Dragon Pirate Ship Crew - thank you for a fantastic day, thank you for a fun time for our kids and thank you for a fun time for my sisters...
Read moreY’all! This adventure was SO unbelievably fun! I cannot recommend it enough! We took our kids, ages 5 and 6 to the sunset ride. They absolutely LOVED it! They said “that was the most fun ever”! The the crew was phenomenal. They activities were very impressive! They kids were up and moving the entire 2 hours. They played games, sung songs, had water fun fights, story time, and even found a treasure FROM THE ACTUAL OCEAN!
We saw dolphins, deer, and different birds. The sunset was gorgeous! The captain was fun and very interactive.
Before booking we read the reviews and the one negative review recently was clearly just someone who can’t take jokes and gets offended easily. No inappropriate jokes or comments (political or anything) were made on our boat. And yes the kids mopped the floors with kid sized mops but it was all in fun acting like a pirate crew. My kids actually loved that part, most of the kids seemed to love this part! For someone to even complain about that is mind blowing. The captain is driving the ship from the top and is engaged the ENTIRE time! There is no way he could’ve disappeared (according to that review) since he was driving, if he did the boat would be driving itself (which isn’t possible on the waters we were on). I’m not sure what experience that individual was referencing but it clearly wasn’t the same Sea Dragon we were on. I would highly recommend ignoring that review if you see it- it’s a biased review that seems far from factual. Everyone was having a blast on our boat!
If your thinking about doing the Sea Dragon, do it! It was loads of fun, a beautiful ride, fun wildlife, and gorgeous scenery on top of lots of laughs and smiles!
Thank you for creating a memory that my kids will...
