What an excellent weekend "getaway" my 28-year old daughter and I had at the historic Scioto Inn!
Our room #203 (a "Deluxe Suite") was extra spacious as it included a living room area with tv, couch and chairs, and separate kitchenette room with dining table "breakfast nook" and walk-out back porch. Every detail was attended to with obvious extra care, from the unique furniture pieces to the curated decor. Our room was so quiet, despite the Inn being filled to capacity, we heard no one.
All of the common areas were beautifully decorated, with museum-level displays. Honestly, I felt luxury all around me, along with a great comfort and warmth of welcome.
I recommend you plan your visit to the Scioto Inn today. Just as I did following through with intentional "adult daughter time" -- set that date. And then get away! This Inn is a gem, with old-time attention to detail few "regular" bed and breakfasts provide (the folded first tissue of the box, specially selected bar soap, down-feather pillows, special requests for birthdays or anniversaries like flowers or chocolates...).
I cannot forget to mention, the first view inside upon arriving is the Atrium which sets the tone for your getaway. Look for the real Lemon tree! Even that is quite old and has a story.
Inn owner Richard Colvin is simply a lovely human. If you have the pleasure of meeting him on your stay, ask Rich about some of the Urbana buildings he has saved from falling in on themselves; you will be intrigued and amazed.

I will treasure this memory in my...
