Ok , I lost my home due to a fire which resulted in a total loss, my insurance (Travelers ins.) quickly moved in to help by placing us at this facility and we did have a dog in tow , now after 1 week of being there with no complaints we left all together and didn't return till 130 am and realized our pass key would not open door. So we proceeded to front desk 3/4 /25 130am. 2 clerks on duty one male one female. Who explained we had been locked out for non payment of our incident deposit? They then said we would have to pay it right then , so we agreed ,even tho my insurance was paying for everything and we were booked their for another week on top of the week we just spent there . 150 dollars was the amount , we.proceeded.to pay it with cash and was informed that they would not take cash only credit card which I didn't have on me due to fire so we asked if my mother could intervene and place her card on stand by and was told no that they had to be there in person . So where do we go in meantime because we can straighten this all up in morning with insurance , NO! Tonight they said ..ok I would like to retrieve my things then so I can relocate NO! We cannot allow you back into your room they said , now I'm getting heated but I'm maintaining my integrity here and not arguing or , not making a scene , tho it all crossed my mind . Then I firmly said I would like to have my things plz so I can checkout ,he said he would have to escort me to the room which was fine with me so they stood and watched with arms folded like the gustapo and didn't turn an hand to help we had to unload our refrigerator which we had fully stocked . So with bags packed refrigerator empty we left . But something about the whole situation kinda rUbbed me the wrong way . Now I've worked a few managers position in my day and I wouldve handles it way different. For starters to make sure the company retains a travelers account I would've allowed the tennents to of went back into their room , and apologized with a tomorrow we can straighten this out after we call insurance agent who was booking the stay for their clients fresh in morning and not to worry we will straight this out . But to allow two night clerks to take it upon themselves to discharge a client that was backed by a major insurance provider and risk ruining relations with the insurance company who has potential to send thousands of dollars to their business , to risk losing them , now social media rants and raves the evicted clients will inflict upon them , just doesn't weigh out . It was rude and it was tacky especially to do to people who have just had their home burned down and lost a loved pet in the fire and sorry pay or go doesn't matter it's 2am. If I was Marriot I would terminate the Residence Inn night clerks who were involved no questions asked. But...
Read moreRecently stayed here for 3 nights to visit nearby Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. During checking in and checking out, the front desk staffs didn't mention anything about the daily $15 parking fee. I even made sure upon check out that my account balance is $0 and the staff said yes. Got home and found out I got charged for parking. If this hotel was located in the city where parking is scarce, then I would have expected it. But in Visalia where the hotel is surrounded by vacant lands and anyone could park in the parking lot...(see attached photo) How does the hotel justify the charge? Called the hotel after my stay, and still haven't get a return call from the manager.||On the second and third day, the elevator button on the ground floor was broken, so every one had to wait for the staff to go to the housekeeping area, wait for the elevator to come down and to open the elevator from the back side to let guests in. To my surprise, my room was cleaned on the first night, but there were still several hair on the floor in the bathroom. Then there was no maid service on the second night. Oh well, no big deal.||Thumbs up to the lady who runs the breakfast area. She was friendly and welcoming. Daily breakfast offers warmed up packaged food such as breakfast burritos, Belgium waffle, sausage biscuits (don't recommend, too dry), bagel sandwiches, and crustless quiches that they switched around every day, so it's easy for you to take with you to eat in your room or later in the day. There were also muffins, oatmeal, and fruits. And of course, several juices, teas and coffee to choose from.||The studio room we were in was a decent size. The kitchen has refrigerator, microwave oven, stove tops, dishwasher. Pretty much anything you may need to heat up a meal. ||Our room was on the 4th floor on the back side(I think) of the hotel. Starting around 5-6 am, you'll hear car noises traveling on the road next to the hotel that woke me up every morning.||Overall a decent, newly renovated hotel. I would recommend it if you were OK with the ridiculous $15 daily mandatory parking fee. Otherwise, maybe choose Best Western right...
Read moreThis hotels has a bed bug infestation. We arrived late in the evening August 24th with our two young children and upon folding out the sofa bed found bed bugs crawling on the mattress. The front desk associate was kind enough to move our rooms, but unfortunately the second room also had bed bugs in the pull out sofa. We’d already booked this hotel for three nights but with bugs in two rooms there was no way we could stay. We wrapped a bug up in a tissue, delivered it to the front desk and informed her we would have to check out because those bugs were crawling in the pull out sofas where our sons would be sleeping. She was very kind and assured us we would receive a phone call the very next day (August 25th) from a manager who would be able to resolve the issue. Fast forward to September 6th, not one person has returned a single phone call of mine or even attempted to reach out to me regarding the matter. They sent us a bill for three nights in their hotel and three days of parking in their parking lot when we spent less than 30 minutes in the building and never returned. I’ve attempted to reach them MULTIPLE times. I’ve been given the run around over and over when I call. I’ve heard managers aren’t in, managers are in meetings, or if they are a manager, they have no authority to help with the situation. Each “manager” I’ve spoken to has promised to return my phone call right away and failed to do so every time. I emailed the manager, Tanja, and she has yet to return to the email either. I can assure you this hotel has bed bugs in it. Just read other reviews! We aren’t the only guests who have had issues with this. This was one of three Residence Inns we stayed in over the course of this trip throughout California and this Residence Inn in Vasalia was an awful experience. The management has shown they do not care about the experience of their...
