If your interested in going to the H.V.A.C classes in Visalia there some things you should know. The only thing your promised are the C.L.O exams and things to do with those exams, when signing you up they will tell you a lot of things you will be given that aren't actually promised to you. The teachers have no respect for you, your money, or your time, as they will show up late and start class late ( i don't mean 5 minutes i mean an hour late ) even though your spending thousands of dollars for responsible not to mention professional teachers. If you go to these classes ask the students if the teachers are ready to help you, and usually you will get the answer that one will help you no problem, and the other will tell you "figure it out" or ignore you (or he'll be busy on his phone, seriously just walk in one day and id bet he'll be sitting down scrolling through his phone) when asking for help, from this same teacher, I told him he ignored me 3-4 times asking for his help and he said i shouldn't of given up so easily and kept asking him anyway. An actual quote from a teacher there is "It doesn't matter if someone dies or you have jury duty you miss a test that's on you", but will leave class for a family emergency leaving you without a teacher (family emergency usually means an employee of theirs messed up a job and need the teacher to go fix it). If you think your going to become an expert in this field after these classes you are mistaken, more often then not the teachers will give you the answers to tests (including the C.L.O's/N.A.T.E tests) and never challenge you. Its a party school i think is the best way for me to describe it. If you want to be challenged and leave knowing you proved you can do H.V.A.C jobs then this place isn't for your. If you want to just get by and be given a certificate with little to no effort at all this is the place for you. Also if the "Owner" who replies to these reviews actually sees this know I already filed complaints to the school who has not talked to me, after my complaint, about how to fix these issues or if they even agree with my complaint, not to mentions safety hazards at this location. I thought going back to college at the age of 48 to get my Associates Degree in Construction Management was going to be a daunting task. Then I heard about SJVC and after speaking with them I started the enrollment process. They walked me through every step of the way including filing for Financial Aid and getting them my transcripts from my previous college enrollment. I found the online courses to be challenging and the instructors to be extremely knowledgeable about the course material. I especially appreciated how the instructors related the course material to real life experiences. When I had questions about the material it was easy to email the instructors and I always got a response within 24 hours. I enjoyed getting to know my fellow classmates through the discussion forums and it was enlightening to hear about their experiences and take on the material we were learning about. I found that the assignments, quizes, and tests to be challenging and thought provoking. With the use of the tutorials, the online format was easy to learn and use. InfoZone website was easy to navigate and had the links to many helpful resources. I had a great time at SJVC and graduated with an Associates Degree in Construction Management in 14 months. Would have given it a 0 star if possible. Sjvc has created the worst expeierince of my life. Sjvc doesn't care after three weeks of you going there. They lie and cheat their way through. The president of sjvc and the deans do not care about any students. Infact they are the most two faced people you will meet. At one point I did not have an instructor for 6 weeks of a 10 week course but they still grade you on professionalism and they will not let you retake any test I quote "even if there is a death in the family. " this school is boarderline just a street hustler. The people in the front office basically become car salesman who lie and tell you what you want to hear . DO NOT GO TO SJVC.!!! JUST LOOK UP some of there law suits and issues. They couldn't cover all that up. And the so called instructors are not professionals they are want to be baby sitters.
