I checked in 5pm with Marissa at the front desk I submitted my ID as requested payment is deducted from my Visa account ending in 0124. Then $150 is requested for incidental fees. I submit Visa card ending 0124 to Marissa. Marissa replies we don’t take Chime. I’m absolutely dumbfounded because the $558 hotel charge was just deducted from my Visa card ending in 0124. I’m sorry did I fail to mention it’s Chime! I submitted another Visa card ending in 6123 not chime but cash app. At 5:02pm $100 charge was deducted. I get to my King Suite with Whirlpool and Balcony just to discover a broken screen to the balcony. I’m flabbergasted! I return to the front desk and inform Marissa about the broken screen to the balcony I discovered as I checked into my King Suite. Marissa states it has been already noted about the King suite broken screen. I requested another room. Marissa updated it’s only 2 King Suites both occupied and the hotel is completely sold out. I ask Marissa how is she going to compensate this situation. Marissa says she will credit me $50. I ask for a receipt. Marissa says she can’t provide me a receipt until I’ve check out. What a nightmare! Will not be returning.

*Cleanliness alert* don’t stay here if you want a clean room! I was honestly surprised the sheets weren’t dirty when I pulled the cover back. 1. Roaches 2. Dirty light switches, definitely not decontaminated like we are supposed to expect in a pandemic 3. The office chair had a thick layer of hair, skin flakes (??), and dust/grime. I almost threw up when I realized I had sat there without a layer of protection. 4. Fridge smelled like rotten fish and had a layer of old liquid in the bottom. 5. The tv looked like someone had sneezed all over it. 6. The floor was STICKY?! 7. There were concerning smudge/smear marks on the headboard (omg gross my head goes right next to that?!) 8. Pink goo on the wall and light fixture next to the fireplace 9. Something red on the ceiling? 10. The elevator had smear marks on the inside and out, and the floor had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. I SAW housecleaning staff with my own eyes! Are they not trained? I don’t understand why comments are regularly made about cleaning and it’s not addressed? Why? This is so gross. Staff at front desk was very nice so 2/5, otherwise it would have been a 0/5.

I have read other reviews about rooms at this location having some roaches, but given the location, price, and my positive experiences with other best western hotels I gave it a shot. The second we walked in we saw a roach. It ran under the door transition before I could crush it. I have attached photos. I looked around the room and couldn't find any more. I didn't see any more for the rest of the 2 day stay. I would recommend the hotel apply roach poison under the door transitions and then calk the area. I think this would help at least a bit. The staff were amazing and the breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, etc. The location is perfect for seeing Sequoia and kings canyon from the three Rivers side, but so long as the road from Fresno is open, that route is about the same drive-time and a better location to stay in my opinion.

Where to start? I've been traveling for over 40 years and have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this one was nothing short of a nightmare. Keep in mind that this hotel and all others in the area had been sold out. When checking in , I was informed that my room had been given to some one else in error. For the next hour and a half at the front counter a saw a show of complete incompetence that was hard to believe. Among many stupid actions the suggested I waited till late at night and see if something became vacant. In the meantime we had been waiting outside in 103 degree weather. I was assigned a temporary room, but I was told more than likely I would have to move out of that room. By then they half already ruined my trip to a local stadium to watch a baseball game with prepaid tickets. 500 dollars out the windows because of their incompetence. So I am told I can stay in the temporary room I was assigned, however the lady that screwed up my reservation failed to communicate all of that to the incoming shift so now they think that room is unoccupied and since I wasn't the only person they messed up their reservation they were knocking on my door at midnight and after midnight waking me and my family and scaring the to death at that hour wondering who the hell was knocking on our door at that time. I guess they were checking to see if the room was in use. That's how bad their reservation system is. To add insult to injury on my way Sequoia National Park, I get a call from the hotel asking me to go BACK that that they needed to fix my reservation!!! It is incomprehensible that they just pretend to match reservations with your credit card and drivers license or ID. That's a big security issue because by their own admission this was not an isolated incident. This by the way was a prepaid stay by American Express (who will hear about this soon) I could not wait to check out out of this place which it was overpriced to begin with and the facilities are average or below at best. I do have to exclude these two ladies who are the only redeeming factor to this place. Felisha who I inmensly apologize to for being the face and taking the brunt of anger and desperation. Amanda in the kitchen and tending to the guests. Her positive attitude was great and she was very helpful to me and every guest having breakfast. Thank you Amanda. I do know one thing that Best Western will NEVER be in consideration for any...

My husband and I had a recent stay at Best Western Visalia. We are frequent hikers and nature lovers so we went to view the Sequoia National Park. Our stay started out great until a front desk representative named Kim started her shift on 5/23 which was my husbands birthday. We were tired from hiking all day so I went to down stairs after a nap for some fresh air. When I can back in. I asked Kim if she could charge some snacks to the room and she asked for my ID. I showed her my ID and my husbands ID and she stated that she needed to call up to the room to get his permission. I called him on my phone and she said that could be anyone’s room card and that could have been anyone I called and people try to break in rooms all the time. She then refused the snacks and I went back up stairs. On 5/24 we woke up to a call asking if we wanted to book another night. When we went downstairs the front desk rep explained that the reservations had been altered. They apologized and stated that the last name listed on the change was Kim. At 10pm 5/24 Kim was waiting outside of our room door as we were walking out to get fresh air. She stated that my husband needed to sign a paper stating that his original check out was 5/24. I told her that we have reservations until 5/25 and that he is not signing anything. When we Key’d the door to come back in. The key had been deactivated. She locked us out of our room at 10:15 pm and we were forced to go to the front desk. When we got down there, she said we will not be getting back in the room until we sign her fraudulent paper. I called the police and my husband trying to diffuse the situation, signed the paper. This was the most miserable experience of my life! She literally harassed us our entire stay. She racially discriminated against us, yelled, locked us out of our room multiple times, tortured us, and I could not sleep for the rest of the night. I am very displeased with this stay. Management has yet to contact us despite the numerous attempts to get in touch with them. Honestly a refund would not be enough. I will forever have permanent scars from this terrible situation and now my husband has the memory of chaos, torture, harassment and discrimination on his 39th...

I left my Beats Pros there ($350+ tax value) and a pack of diapers in room 123 on October 11th checkout, I received a call from staff about how they found them. I called back and immediately arranged for my friend Karina H. Who lives in the area to pick them up. Told them she won’t be off work until 10 pm and will be there late and the lovely staff told me they would hold it in the front. When she got there at 11 pm the staff member named KIM kept insisting that they weren’t there only the diapers. Kim kept saying that the beats were locked in housekeeping. And refused to give them to my friend. When I called about it, I asked her why would they be locked away when we had already designated a friend was picking them up that same night. I told her it reminded me of when I worked at a hotel and staff was PLANNING on keeping an item. It did not make sense. I’ve worked in hospitality for 6 years. She just wasn’t making sense, and she ended up hanging up on me and refused to answer after I called back multiple times. I really hope you guys record phone calls and review that phone call because I was never disrespectful or anything of the sort and the way she handled that is UNACCEPTABLE. I called back today and the lovely staff member named Martha informed me that my $350 +tax beats pros were indeed there the whole time. They were never in house keeping. They were in a bag labeled with the room 123 where staff told me they would keep them for my friend to pick up. Now that it’s confirmed Kim was lying. I’m going to go ahead and accuse of KIM of being a thief who planned on keeping my valuables. Keep an eye on her. If she was that confident, I doubt this is her first time stealing from your guests. I really appreciate staff member MARTHA who answered my call today October 12th at 2pm she is a sweetheart, very understanding and super helpful. She was amazing, no one else sucked except Kim, but Martha is the most hospitable staff member I encountered. Kim though, KIM IS THE WORST...
