Where to start? I've been traveling for over 40 years and have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this one was nothing short of a nightmare. Keep in mind that this hotel and all others in the area had been sold out. When checking in , I was informed that my room had been given to some one else in error. For the next hour and a half at the front counter a saw a show of complete incompetence that was hard to believe. Among many stupid actions the suggested I waited till late at night and see if something became vacant. In the meantime we had been waiting outside in 103 degree weather. I was assigned a temporary room, but I was told more than likely I would have to move out of that room. By then they half already ruined my trip to a local stadium to watch a baseball game with prepaid tickets. 500 dollars out the windows because of their incompetence. So I am told I can stay in the temporary room I was assigned, however the lady that screwed up my reservation failed to communicate all of that to the incoming shift so now they think that room is unoccupied and since I wasn't the only person they messed up their reservation they were knocking on my door at midnight and after midnight waking me and my family and scaring the to death at that hour wondering who the hell was knocking on our door at that time. I guess they were checking to see if the room was in use. That's how bad their reservation system is. To add insult to injury on my way Sequoia National Park, I get a call from the hotel asking me to go BACK that that they needed to fix my reservation!!! It is incomprehensible that they just pretend to match reservations with your credit card and drivers license or ID. That's a big security issue because by their own admission this was not an isolated incident. This by the way was a prepaid stay by American Express (who will hear about this soon) I could not wait to check out out of this place which it was overpriced to begin with and the facilities are average or below at best. I do have to exclude these two ladies who are the only redeeming factor to this place. Felisha who I inmensly apologize to for being the face and taking the brunt of anger and desperation. Amanda in the kitchen and tending to the guests. Her positive attitude was great and she was very helpful to me and every guest having breakfast. Thank you Amanda. I do know one thing that Best Western will NEVER be in consideration for any...
Read moreMy husband and I had a recent stay at Best Western Visalia. We are frequent hikers and nature lovers so we went to view the Sequoia National Park. Our stay started out great until a front desk representative named Kim started her shift on 5/23 which was my husbands birthday. We were tired from hiking all day so I went to down stairs after a nap for some fresh air. When I can back in. I asked Kim if she could charge some snacks to the room and she asked for my ID. I showed her my ID and my husbands ID and she stated that she needed to call up to the room to get his permission. I called him on my phone and she said that could be anyone’s room card and that could have been anyone I called and people try to break in rooms all the time. She then refused the snacks and I went back up stairs. On 5/24 we woke up to a call asking if we wanted to book another night. When we went downstairs the front desk rep explained that the reservations had been altered. They apologized and stated that the last name listed on the change was Kim. At 10pm 5/24 Kim was waiting outside of our room door as we were walking out to get fresh air. She stated that my husband needed to sign a paper stating that his original check out was 5/24. I told her that we have reservations until 5/25 and that he is not signing anything. When we Key’d the door to come back in. The key had been deactivated. She locked us out of our room at 10:15 pm and we were forced to go to the front desk. When we got down there, she said we will not be getting back in the room until we sign her fraudulent paper. I called the police and my husband trying to diffuse the situation, signed the paper. This was the most miserable experience of my life! She literally harassed us our entire stay. She racially discriminated against us, yelled, locked us out of our room multiple times, tortured us, and I could not sleep for the rest of the night. I am very displeased with this stay. Management has yet to contact us despite the numerous attempts to get in touch with them. Honestly a refund would not be enough. I will forever have permanent scars from this terrible situation and now my husband has the memory of chaos, torture, harassment and discrimination on his 39th...
Read moreI left my Beats Pros there ($350+ tax value) and a pack of diapers in room 123 on October 11th checkout, I received a call from staff about how they found them. I called back and immediately arranged for my friend Karina H. Who lives in the area to pick them up. Told them she won’t be off work until 10 pm and will be there late and the lovely staff told me they would hold it in the front. When she got there at 11 pm the staff member named KIM kept insisting that they weren’t there only the diapers. Kim kept saying that the beats were locked in housekeeping. And refused to give them to my friend. When I called about it, I asked her why would they be locked away when we had already designated a friend was picking them up that same night. I told her it reminded me of when I worked at a hotel and staff was PLANNING on keeping an item. It did not make sense. I’ve worked in hospitality for 6 years. She just wasn’t making sense, and she ended up hanging up on me and refused to answer after I called back multiple times. I really hope you guys record phone calls and review that phone call because I was never disrespectful or anything of the sort and the way she handled that is UNACCEPTABLE. I called back today and the lovely staff member named Martha informed me that my $350 +tax beats pros were indeed there the whole time. They were never in house keeping. They were in a bag labeled with the room 123 where staff told me they would keep them for my friend to pick up. Now that it’s confirmed Kim was lying. I’m going to go ahead and accuse of KIM of being a thief who planned on keeping my valuables. Keep an eye on her. If she was that confident, I doubt this is her first time stealing from your guests. I really appreciate staff member MARTHA who answered my call today October 12th at 2pm she is a sweetheart, very understanding and super helpful. She was amazing, no one else sucked except Kim, but Martha is the most hospitable staff member I encountered. Kim though, KIM IS THE WORST...
